Very good hotel. .
Quiet, clean, beautiful rooms. . I will be back there in the future!!!

The hotel is located in the southern part of the island. Less cluttered and more quiet. A bit far from the center, but buses from the hotel to the center every hour.

IMHO, this is by far the best hotel in Kos Island.
The location is perfect for those looking for a relaxing and somewhat isolated vacation. The hotel is situated in a small bay, 4 km away from the nearest resort village, Kardamena (this distance is no problem at all, as there are regular local buses and taxis). The area around is private, with a couple of other hotels nearby, so the atmosphere is very quiet and intimate. The only thing you should note about the location is that the hotel is only 12 km from Kos airport, so you will frequently see and hear airplanes in the sky.
The hotel was built in 2009 and joined the Hilton network in 2012, after a major refurbishment - so everything is new, nicely designed and crispy clean. The hotel has all the facilities you might need during your vacation, including internet connection (WiFi in public areas and cable in the rooms), gym and spa area. The territory is well-maintained, and the beach is pure perfection - very spacious, immaculately kept and comfortable (no stones on the shore and underwater, just sand).
Meals are abundant and tasty, with great choices for both breakfast and dinner. Special thanks to the restaurant staff - they are just brilliant mood-creators!

Room Tip: All rooms with odd numbers are on the groud floor, they all have spacious private terraces, but most...

I really loved this place! We visisted this hotel to unwind from all the stress at home and that is exactly what it offered. It's a clean, atmospheric hotel with an amazing pool and a gorgeous view. The rooms are spacious with a cosy terrace. The buffet was of good quality. Finally I can really recommend the cocktails, they make hreat mojitos!

Positives first: This is a lovely hotel in a great setting. We had one of the shared pool rooms which are a good size, have their own patio area outside with chairs and sunbeds and, of course, a pool just yards from the room. The pool is long and quite narrow and is shared with six other rooms, so it’s not totally private but it’s a real nice-to-have. The rooms are kept spotlessly clean, as is the site.

The beach is fine. There is a stony shelf to negotiate before you can get properly in the water but the sea is clear and relatively calm. Sunbeds are in good supply, there was only one occasion whilst we were there that we couldn’t find any that were free and towels are provided from a booth at the entrance to the beach.

The main hotel pool is a nice size, with plenty of sun loungers and tables and chairs as well as its own bar. Perfect for lounging in the sun before cooling off with either a dip or a cooling beverage.

Minor irritants: Drinks are a bit pricey. Everything is around 60% more expensive than in Kardamena, the local town, and the cocktails are not as good. The hotel is a bit isolated. It costs 10 euros each way by taxi into Kardemena but you can make that back in no time after a few drinks.

Not much evidence of service with a smile. We were staying right at the end of the season so maybe they had all had enough but, whilst they were generally efficient, the staff seemed rather morose. One exception to the rule was the Polish girl who worked the pool bar tirelessly. Cheerful and chatty, she will be a loss to the hotel as she mentioned to us that she was leaving to work in London after this season. At the other end of the scale was the Elvis impersonator who worked behind the lobby bar whose approach bordered on rudeness.

More than minor irritants: Breakfast and dinner in the main restaurant definitely needs looking at. We have stayed at hotels with buffet style catering before but I don’t remember seeing queues for tables on the scale that we saw here. It doesn’t help that the hotel has been designed with two large indoor dining rooms and a much smaller outside balcony. Clearly the designers didn’t twig that, on a holiday island with pretty much wall-to-wall sunshine, quite a few people will want to dine al fresco with views of the sea rather in a hot stuffy dining room. Also the outside is split half and half smoking and non-smoking. Consequently if you want to eat outside and don’t want to have your taste buds polluted by other peoples’ cigarette smoke, you are likely to have the longest wait. The food itself is generally quite good, although sometimes not as hot as it should be and, at the later times, some dishes might be in short supply. One major gripe was that the hot water provided for tea at breakfast was almost always tepid at best. I gave up complaining in the end, particularly after one of the staff tried to persuade me that it was hot by pouring some on his hand and saying “Ouch”.

One thing worth noting which I am surprised hasn’t featured more in other reviews. The hotel is right on the approach flightpath for the airport which is just a few miles inland. Planes come in all day quite low over the hotel. It wasn’t a problem for us, I quite enjoyed trying to identify the various airlines, but I am sure some people would find the noise levels irritating/

A lovely hotel but not without room for improvement.

Room Tip: Swim up pool rooms are a real nice-to-have

we chose kos and specially this hotel right at the beach, because we wanted to enjoy the sea and the beach. when we came to the beach the first day, all sunbeds and umbrellas were already occupied. as we couldn't believe that, we asked the guy in charge of the towels, if he could do something for us, as we really wanted to stay at the beach and not hang out at the pool. very unfriendly he told us that he couldn't. and that he didn't have fresh towels. so we had to spend the first day at the pool (waiting for about two hours for towels), that is really small compared to the size of the hotel. as the hotel was fully booked, there were a lot of people at the pool, so that it wasn't really relaxing. we looked forward to dinner, but when we arrived at the restaurant, we were told, that it was full and we had to wait. we waited for over 30 minutes!! but the worst thing was, that the restaurant wasn't full at all, it was actually half empty, the waiters were just soooooo slow that about half the tables were just waiting to be cleaned away. that really annoyed us; you can have a certain understanding, if the restaurant is full and all the staff is doing their best. but if you see the waiters just standing in the corner and chatting to each other while about 30 guests are waiting so be seated, it just annoys you. and it was like that every night. the second day when we wanted to go to the beach, it was very windy, so that they told us, that for safety reasons they couldn't upon the umbrellas. why a five star hotel is not able to have stable umbrellas (they have, but only about 1/4 of them), i don't understand. kos is known as a windy island, so i guess that they have that problem from time to time.
the food at the restaurant wasn't really nice, but the chef's there made up for it; always smiling and happy to help. the rest of the staff wasn't really friendly, the worst was reception.

all together we have to say: the hotel would be very nice, the rooms are comfortable and the beach is great, when you are able to enjoy it. i think the staff was unable to cope with a fully booked hotel and unfortunately the guests noticed that. the price we paid for this one week vacation was way too much. we expected that by paying a bit more than at other hotels in kos, you would get that bit of extra service you expect from a 5 star hotel. we were disappointed and are definitely not going back.

We spent a week in Hilton DoubleTree in Kos and it was just one of the best vacations I ever had. Well, the scenery is gorgeous, the staff nice and welcoming always asking about us and being super friendly. We had the regular twin room which was awesome huge and clean. The beach is beautiful and clean and main thing here is peace, quiet and relaxation. I read some of the more negative things people had to say and I think you should know what to expect. This is not a family hotel with lots of kids activities. I think it's probably a little bit pricier cause it's not an all-inclusive. But you get to enjoy a totally stress-free environment. Tennis courts are nice (but do get your own equipment if you're serious), indoors pools excellent for colder days. The only thing that was just a little bit annoying was that you can't even get water free of charge for dinner and you are expected to spend quite a lot of money if you stay there for more than a couple of days. Thanks for a great vacation and hope to be there again soon!!

Just returned from an 11 night holiday at the Kos Hilton. As we are Hilton Honours diamond members we were given an upgrade to a shared pool room. Not available the night we arrived but told would be available the next day. True to their word the hotel rang the next morning to say the room was now available and a buggy was sent to collect us and luggage to take to new room. Wow, we'll worth waiting 1 night for as a beautiful room with veranda area with table and chairs and sun loungers and shared pool between 4 rooms. Lovely bathroom and very comfy bed.

Tried breakfast most mornings, usually a queue mainly as people waiting for outside seating area or tables not being cleared quickly enough, but this is the only criticism I have. Tried the evening buffet which is in same resteraunt as breakfast. Plenty of choices even for us veggies. Food always of good fresh quality and plentiful. You must try the Thalassas resteraunt which is next to the communal pool area. Loved the risotto and hubby's favourite was the salmon. Guests at the hotel on a package half board basis receive 30% discount but even at full price we found it to be good value. Never many eating here as guess that most half boarders stay with the buffet resteraunt. Waiting staff always friendly and courteous.

We ventured into Kardemena via bus which the stop is only a short distance from the hotel and cost 1,80 each. Took a taxi back to the hotel which was 10 euros. Nice array of shops, bars and eateries in Kardamena so worth venturing out from the hotel.

Hotel areas lovely and clean, well tended gardens, pools cleaned every day and nice staff. With a private beach and views of the Aegan sea and Nissyros island you can't help but like this hotel. Would We go again? Most definitely and intend to book again for Sept. 2014.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view
