I have been coming to Greece and the Islands for 20 years on a self catering basis, and although I knew of this place because I have been coming to Kalamaki for over 5 years, but thought it was only for the Germans and would be expensive. How wrong can one be, I came with my older son for a few days and this was the best place I have ever stayed at. The rooms were large and very clean, the beds were first class, the kitchen even had a microwave although this time we used it only for drinks as they served an all day breakfast which was the best I have ever had and inexpensive. The Balcony was the largest I have ever had in Greece and we spent most of the day on it because it was such a nice view. It was on the main street but once we closed the Balcony door you couldn't hear anything. My only worry about doing this review is that I won't be able to get in next time!

We stayed here for a week in May 2013. The rooms are excellent and very spacious. The pool area is really nice and the bar seems very popular. The owners and everyone who works there are really good people and go out of their way to help you.

I've stayed here twice in the past 2 years and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Kalamaki. As stated in other reviews, the hotel is only 10 minutes from the airport which can be a lifesaver after a long overnight flight. The hotel itself is situated pretty much in the centre of the strip and provides good access to all the local bars and restaurants in the evening and the beach is a 10 minute stroll directly across the road. The hotel has a nice pool and has a shaded bar section with tables which provides food and drink all day long.

It's the people who run the hotel that really make it though, get talking to Dimitris or Fotis and they will help you out in any way they can. Not only can they tell you of all the little gems the island has to offer but they can help to organise many things if you ask them early enough! (or take you to the hospital at 4.30am if you dislocate a shoulder!.lol).

Overall, Hotel Vanessa is a fantastic place to stay while in Kalamaki, i'll certainly be back.

Have stayed 3 times and loved every time ! Friendly & welcoming ! Right in the middle of Kalamaki with lovely eating houses all around all serving excellent food
Vanessa is only 10 mins from the airport which is ideal

Room Tip: One of the rooms at the front all with balconies
