We went for our Honeymoon. On arrival there was a card and bottle of wine waiting for us to say congratulations. Athena and Niko welcomed us and showed us to our room. Quite basic, however that is often the case with Greek accommodation and it was more than perfect for our needs. Some people on here have moaned that the hotel rooms don't have all the mod cons, well sorry I don't think it's necessary unless you intend to spend every second of the day in your hotel room. The room was clean on arrival, though it wasn't attended to much during our stay. Toilet was a little unclean and given that the shower was hand held it meant water often went everywhere so you had to use a hand towel to mop it up and it wasn't always changed. However bed sheets were changed a couple of times during the ten nights and I got the impression if you just asked they would be more than happy to help. All staff were extremely friendly. The breakfast is well worth it if you have the B & B option, failing that it costs 4,50 euros for all other guests and I recommend it. Air con is available though we didn't bother, just leave the shutters open during day/night time. Evening meal was averaging around 20-25 euros for us as a couple, comprising starter, main and dessert with drinks and it was very nice, better than some of the tavernas in Kalimaki.. Make full use of any entertainment as it is always so much fun. Karaoke, bingo and quiz night were all offered including movie nights. Also ask Sofia during the afternoon and at 4pm she will put a film on for you. She has a large selection (many are only just at cinemas over here- first night Despicable Me 2). Sofia is also the person to get bus time information from and she will happily book you a taxi too. Pool area was fantastic and more than big enough for everyone there, (not all scrabbling for a sunbed etc). Happy Hours was between 6pm-12am and Zorbas beer (bit sickly after too many) was 1,50 euros and cocktails were 2 euros. Very good selection and quite refreshing. Free pool table, table tennis, slide and swings etc. All in all a good hotel and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Many nights Nikos would give us free shots before bed however don't expect a good nights kip with dogs barking and cockerels squawking all night (though this isn't really the owners fault and so can't really complain). Would recommend to anyone staying in Kalimaki.

My husband and i have just returned from Zante and the rainbow. We have had a fabulous holiday. The rainbow and all the staff are magnificant. We travelled most of the island on a moped ate in lots of different tavernas and the food at the rainbow was the best. Great food and great value. If you want a moped then go to traffic. Best deal in kalamaki. I would recommend boat hire at Kepi. Fantastic value for money and great fun. Most of the beaches were very busy but quiet ones can be found. Definately recommend Porto Kamina. Will definately return..

Aug 2013, had a two week stay here. Its a short walk from the main resort, and a short walk to the Turtle sandy beach (which does get busy, so if you want to rent the loungers on the beach, you need to get there early). The rooms are self-catering, but with just a fridge, a two ring hob and a kettle, don't be expecting to make toast or cook much, with no grill or oven. Air-con was essential and costs 6 euros p/day, which soon adds up, but it works great and is quiet. We found it to be very clean and the staff friendly. You can get a local bus into Zante town (or Lagana if that's your bag) at only 1.60 euros. The resort itself has seen better days, and we did take a liking to Argassi, but didn't go to the beach there, so I'm not sure if that's sandy or not!

It's all said in my Title Fantastic.Athena,Nikos,Sofia,Niko,Paul,Theo & little Panos(and Nikos mum&dad) welcomed us like family.we had a very relaxed holiday with a little help from the six hour happy hour,(get nikos or sopia to make them) The Rainbow is a typical greek hotel no whistles&bells just a nice clean & tidy room, somewhere to get your head down after a hard day of doing nothing,if you want 4/5 star don't bother, if you want a great friendly greek welcome and to be treated like long lost family give them a try.

My husband & I were moved from a dump apartment to the Rainbow. we found it absolutely delightful & we couldn't have been happier. The staff are so friendly, welcoming, helpful & can't do enough for you, huge thanks to Nikos, Athina, Sofia, Paul, Niko & Theo, Our room was very clean, regularly cleaned, had a lovely balcony, and was quiet. The pool is clean & the bar is a pleasure to be in with friendly people & brilliant service, we had a really good laugh with them all. Can't fault this place, we will definitely go back there. Many thanks to all of them for making our holiday great.
