Just returned from a fantastic 2 week stay with a group of friends at The Rainbow. The family and all the staff really know how to make you feel welcome. They obviously realise the importance of taking care of all of their guests and our expectations were met on every level. Nothing is too much trouble. We went half board and the food on offer was really good and very tasty! We were lucky enough to stay in the newly built rooms (35, 36 and 37) which have amazing views to the coast. Modern bathrooms, great showers and nice furniture with balconies plus quiet air conditioning. The pool is a great size and the pool area spacious with plenty of sunbeds etc. Lunch brought to our outside table felt a real treat and the menu is vast! Freshly cooked and prepared food is on offer at all times. Niko's mum is a star chef! The Kleftico is highly recommended! We wont hesitate to book our holiday break here again. Can't wait!

Room Tip: As above, 35, 36 and 37 are newly built, modern, and with great views to the sea.

Having been accustomed to turkey for the past 13 years, I have become aware that going two star would not be appropriate, so you can imagine my apprehension when it was organised for us to go to Zante in two star hotel. We arrived at 1900 hours on the Thursday 6th June 2013 and thought what have we done, then we went in and to our surprise it was beautiful. A very authentic traditional greek themed taverna/hotel. We was met by Theodoros who was the father of the family and his son Nicos. They showed us to our room and it was very basic but it was self catering but again it was very clean and the staff could not do enough for you. The young lady who works behind the bar is Sophie, she is there most of the time and speaks very good English. The food is fantastic and the cleanliness of the hotel is second to none. The pool area is of a high standard and the only reason this is a two star is because it does not have a 24 hour reception. Residents bar is very small and friendly and it is probably one of the best family run hotels I have had the pleasure of staying in.

We have just had a most wonderful week at Rainbow between 23rd May to yesterday 30th May. Sophie & Nikos were there to greet my husband and myself on arrival, Nikos helped with our luggage & took us to our room (5). It was a very good size room, very clean and felt spacious the balcony was adequate too, the towels were changed 3 times during our week & the bedding was changed during our stay. We did not use the cooking facilities, the amount of crockery & cutlery supplied were sufficient for breakfast & the odd light lunch, obviously the fridge is a godsend abroad. The whole family were very welcoming, Nikos mum does all the cooking which was very nice and reasonably priced we alternated between Rainbow and Heavens Kitchen which is on the main road, only about a 10 minute walk. Spoke to numerous people who have been staying there for years, I think that speaks for itself & we certainly hope to be returning ourselves.

just back from a 2wk stay at the rainbow, greeted by the lovely Sophia who works behind the bar,she took us straight to our rooms (9+5) at the back of the building and although pretty basic they are fine(typically Greek), all i can say is if you want mod cons don't go there! The kitchen had a kettle, fridge and a 2ring hob which i admit we didn't use but then i don't go on holiday to cook!!!.The towels were changed every 3days and the beds once a wk which in my eyes was not a problem,i don't change them at home more than that!! There was a some noise from the cockeral and the dogs but as they don't belong to the rainbow i'm not sure what they could do (if anything)about this, just do what i always do when i go away and take ear plugs just in case. The bar food was lovely(chicken souvlaki pitta a favorite) so was the Taverna food we ate there on 3nights.The family were always pleasant to us,Nikos usually appeared sometime in the morning as he worked behind the bar at night and Theo worked in the Taverna. The apartments are about a 20min walk to the main strip for restaurants/bars but there are a few closer than that.just up the road was Mychaelos(turn right out of the rainbow)turn left towards the beach there is Georgias(excellent value)and a bit further on near the Crystal Beach is Zepos(bit more expensive than others but worth it,delicious cheesecake) If u take the road at the side of Mychaelos it brings you out about halfway down the main strip on the airport road (near Buon Amici)the other restaurants we liked were The Olive Tree, Escape + Paulos. All in all we had a great time and would not hesitate to book another holiday at the rainbow .

We were presented with a dated tired room. Big orange notice advising rules of the room and not the welcome expected in what had been described as a friendly family run establishment! Very worn discoloured cheap linen and towels not changed frequently enough, once a week for a linen change is not acceptable. Old drab blanket, no mattress or pillow protectors and no soundproofing between rooms or balconies. Also barking from local dogs goes on all night every night. Food was basic and dull and the owners seemed disinterested in the business or the guests needs and expectations. Not the friendly greek hosts usually found when staying in Greece.
