My wife and I never had a honeymoon and I decided to treat ourselves to a tenth wedding anniversary week away in Zakinthos staying in the Roseland Hotel. I did my homework prior to booking and read many reviews of different hotels and decided that this particular one had very good reviews and was reasonably priced. I was amazed by the number of people that have returned to the Roseland and I can see why. The staff are so friendly and cannot do enough for you. The waitress in the afternoon and evening is an absolute gem for this hotel. She is very efficient and friendly and knows how to make you feel welcome. Dennis, the barman, is also friendly and a good laugh too. You must try the cocktails they are awesome. The maids were very friendly and did a fantastic job of keeping the rooms and walkways clean. The food was exceptional and very resonably priced too. You must try their salads. The breakfast was included and was very good too. There was fried/scrambled egg, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, cheeses, ham, four types of bread, two types of cereals, cake, boiled eggs and usual marmalade and jams. There was tea and coffee and juice available too. The room was of a good standard and was clean on arrival. The bathroom was small and the shower was difficult to get in and out of due to being very small and if you're of big build you will have trouble getting in and out. The bathrooms could do with a bit of tlc as our tap was a bit loose and some tiles cracked but I didn't see this as worth dropping my rating as the rest of the experience was fantastic. The bed was comfortable and the towles cleaned every two days. No issues with getting sunbeds as it was October. Pool is ok but a little small but I dont think this is an issue. The hotel, like many on this island, is very close to the airport and the aircraft noise is very loud. However, The most we saw were about 5 planes on one day and they do not operate at night due to the loggerhead turtles that come on the beach. There is a pool table and table tennis table in the hotel. The hotel is a ten minute walk to the beach via it's own back gate.
We will be sure to return here next year hopefully as it was a fantastic holiday. Thanks to all the staff and fellow travellers for making this an enjoyable experience.

We've just returned from our holiday in Kalamaki at the Roseland Hotel. This is by far the best hotel we have ever stayed in, it should be a four star hotel! The transfer time is 5 mins, we were already laid on a sunbed by the pool an hour after landing!! Amazing! The breakfast was fab, loads to choose from for such a small hotel! The staff can't do enough for everyone, they really are so friendly and with it being family run it has a lovely warm atmosphere. We did go slightly out of season so it was fairly quiet, which was perfect for us and it meant a choice of several sunbeds each day, perfect! There is a snack bar by the pool which serves everything from beer to frappes (our fave!) and sandwiches to pizzas! Dennis the barman was also brilliant, but beware..... his cocktails VERY potent!!! In Kalamaki, the bars and restaurants are mostly on the main strip and we ate at different places every night. They were all fantastic, there was so much choice and the food quality excellent! (We recommend Dias, Olive Tree amd buis amici-the rooftop Italian) And the locals were really friendly too! We would definitely go back to Roseland, and it will always be a very special holiday to us as we got engaged whilst we were there!!! :) Tassia and Luke from Lincolnshire x

We have just returned from our holiday in Kalamaki staying here at the Roseland. It was one of the best holidays we have ever had!! The rooms were clean and cleaned everyday. The food was lovely. We loved sitting around the pool and enjoying the lovely weather and surroundings. The staff at the Roseland are all excellent and very very welcoming! We particularly loved Dennis the barman. Dennis made killer cocktails which I indulged in too much!! He was our entertainment at night he was able to serve everyone whilst getting to know us all and making us all laugh, although he is rubbish at pool!! I have never been anywhere where everyone is so friendly we didn't stop laughing for 2 weeks!
Our holiday was perfect and we definanetly want to come back next year!!!

We've just returned from a fantastic week in Kalamaki staying at the Roseland Hotel for the third time. We didn't think this hotel could improve but it's like a fine wine, and improves with age! We've never been anywhere where everyone gets on with everyone and the staff are only too happy to make your holiday as perfect as you want it. Dennis the bar man is the best bar man we've ever met, with his warm welcoming attitude and friendly face, we spent quite a few nights in his company! The hotel is impeccably clean and tidy and the food is second to none. We can highly recommend this hotel for your next visit to Zakynthos and we are already in the process of booking for next year!
