It was an ok beach however extremely busy.. There are hotels and restaurants on the beach which play extremely loud house music and if you want to relax and chill out then this isn't the beach for you.. I would personally not go back to the beach.. but it is good for swimming as the sea bed is low further in and you can actually swim much further from the beach..

This is a long. lovely beach that stretches all the way round to it's noisy neighbour, Laganas...about a 40 min' walk (I am told!). It is much more family-friendly than Laganas & there is safe swimming and pedaloes for hire, which are great for spotting the protected turtles, if you're lucky! This beach is where the turtles come to lay their eggs and the egg sites are monitored and easily spotted by a 'pyramid' of rods that the nature wardens use over the nests.
There are cafe's nearby and drinks & ice-creams easily available all day.

If your looking for crazy, as in water sports, this is not the beach for you. We always go to Kalamaki first weekend in September and every visit to the beach is quiet and very relaxing. Sunbed and Umbrella are value for money compared to other places we have stayed. If you stand still about 5ft into the water you will get your feets dead skin removed for free. There are refreshments/toilets available at the far end of the beach. Also in the same spot If you walk into the water and wade knee deep for about 20yds you will find another smaller beach/cove.
Oh yes you will not see a Turtle at all anywhere in and around Zante during September. The turtle season is well and truly finished by then.

The island is filled with gorgeous beaches with bright blue waters that are crystal clear... I don't know why anyone would want to come to this beach unless their hotel happens to sit on it. The water was so dirty from the boats, and cloudy. I couldn't see more than a few inches down. I didn't even want to put my head in it to snorkel. It was just a pit-stop on our ways to other places. I would NOT recommend this beach, there are a handful of other better beaches you can spend your time on.
