“Brilliant Family Friendly!!!”
Reviewed August 2, 2014

What a fantastic 2 weeks we have had here!!!

Where do I start?? The staff!! Maggie, Lola, Ilias and Panos make the Amaryllis the hotel it is. They are friendly and loads of fun. They have so much time for everybody and make it such a pleasant stay. Maggie makes an excellent clown and we really enjoyed the quiz night with her too. The Karaoke night in the lounge bar with Ionian Ian was loads of fun and our daughter sang 8 times that night!! Panos makes excellent cocktails and he is such a lovely man!

Our daughter fell in love with Ilias and begged us to eat in the hotel restaurant every night as he would be there.

The whole hotel is clean and this makes everything so much better. The maids were thorough and the rooms are cleaned 6 days out of 7. The towels could be changed more often as could the sheets especially with it being so warm.

The Studio Rooms are basic but tbh it was a just a sleeping base for us but it had a full fridge with a freezer compartment so we could freeze bottles of water in there.

The hotel dog came to say hello every night all the kids loved him as he was so friendly.

The pool was great and it never really felt overcrowded, the only problem I would say would the be those people who put towels out early and then went out for the day taking up beds but that happens everywhere. Its clean and refreshingly cold in the heat.

The food in the pool bar and restaurant are tasty and good and not overpriced. If you wanted something they could do it for you!

The ONLY disadvantage to this hotel were the noise from the airport and although you become 'immune' to it to a degree it can be annoying particularly the early morning flights! Also the hotel next door (bitzaro) was very noisy and seemed to have karaoke everynight and loud PA until the early hours.

Spent a week here last week. Lovely hotel, clean, pretty and so friendly.
Rooms were basic but lovely, just wish toaster was in room as so much easier.
Pool was big and clean, was just getting busy as we left due to summer hols. But early morning was great for a swim as no one around.
Staff were so friendly and helpful, as was the owner. We found him several times sat on reception but was so lovely and chatty.
Will be returning next year. Well worth a visit

Room Tip: Third floor great as no one above. But no lift so big hard when carrying up suitcases in the heat...

From the moment you walk in you are greeted by a lovely lady Caterina if I remember right. Hotel excellent, location superb. The best thing about this place were the staff. Will do anything for you. I have never received such service even from a five star hotel. Lola, Maggie and Illias I thank all three of you for making my holiday one to remember

Our 1st holiday to the island. From the moment we arrived at the hotel until the day we left there was absolutely nothing to fault. The hotel owner was at hand every minute of the day if needed, however we never did. The staff were fantastic especially Lola and Maggie at the pool area and Panos behind the bar who also doubled as a tourist information guide and Katerina on reception who was very helpful and charming. The rooms we're spotless as was the pool area sun loungers were always available with no mad rushing to get them. The gardens were beautifully maintained. The food in the hotel buffet and pool side snack bar was very good as was the menu which had a good choice of meals. The location of the hotel is great as you are only a few minutes walk to the beach and two minutes to the bars and restaurants. Personal recommendations for eating out would be Paolo's, Merlis, Yummys and Sizzle and Grill. personally avoid the Yamas restaurant food not too good and all the "free" drinks seem to get added to your bill For a great night out I can recommend the Cronulla Bar with owners Suzanne, Jimmy and Tom, be prepared for a late night if Tom is on form. All in all the whole holiday was fantastic and would definitely go back to the Amaryllis

Want on a girls holiday as we wanted somewhere close to nightlife but also very relaxing. I would recommend this hotel to literally any age group at all. The staff were lovely and very helpful, the food and drinks are good value. We much preferred eating food off the menu rather than the buffet but that's just personal preference. Would love to go back and miss it there already!

We have just come back from another great stay at the Amaryllis apartments. This was our 3rd visit and it was even better the previous ones. The apartments are spotlessly clean, the gardens are immaculate along with the pool area, there were always plenty of sunbeds no early morning rush. The addition of the shaded area along one side of the pool has been a great, especially when the temperatures are hitting 35. The breakfast and evening meals at the hotel are fantastic value for money. The choice of food for the evening meal is staggering. The staff at the Amaryllis are great, hard working and very friendly, Lola, Mika and Ilias at the pool bar and Panos in the main bar, we look forward to seeing you again. The resort of Kalamaki is your standard holiday resort with plenty of bars and restaurants. We particularly liked the cave bar, great views over the resort, but this year we found a cocktail bar called Mojitos, which is adjacent to the cave bar on the strip, the cocktails are superb. As we have been before we have found a couple of good restaurants. We ate mainly at Michaelos, a great traditional greek taverna where the food and hospitality is second to none. We also ate at Zepos, again a great greek taverna. We did the traditional boat trip to the shipwreck beach which we enjoyed, but a tip for future holidaymakers. There are a number of companies offering trips now on smaller boats, which means the boats are less crowded, but as we found out the sea at the shipwreck beach is particularly rough and sometimes as in our case the smaller boats cannot land on the beach, which means you need to swim from the boat to the beach. Unless you are a strong swimmer, they may not let you off the boat. If you would like to get on the beach book one of the larger boats, more people i know but they can get on the beach. Overall we had a great holiday and we will definately be back.

We visited the island of Zante for the first time in May 2014 - using previous reviews on Trip Advisor to help us to choose where to stay. We were not at all disappointed! The hotel owners were at the property every day - greeting returning customers warmly. The two ladies who worked the pool bar were exceptional - they really made our holiday with their happy smiles and wonderful service. The food at the pool bar was also fantastic - we had lunch there every day and were never disappointed. On our last night we stayed in the hotel for their BBQ - it was wonderful. Highly recommended. The pool is a good size, the beach was a little disappointing, so we stayed at the pool every day. The entertainment in the neighbouring hotel was loud - but not overbearing. We chose to eat out most nights and found some interesting places - especially good were Paolo's and the Pandesia; both offering exceptional food, service and value for money. The Olive tree was ok - but we waited for ever to be served. Avoid the Fanari restaurant (I now see all the negative comments and wish I had looked first) you get "free" food that ultimately is sneaked onto your bill - and the food is mediocre at best. Plenty of much better choices to go for.

Room Tip: There are only four blocks, larger (two-bedroomed) rooms are on the ground floor.
