“Fantastic family holiday!”
Reviewed September 4, 2011

Stayed at the Caretta beach for two weeks with our two boys and can honestly say we loved it.We stayed in D block and the room was always kept clean and was adequate for the amount of time spent you spend in it,with no charge for the air-con or safe.
The pools around the hotel are kept clean and tidy and the on site waterpark is a great addtion and we all loved it,lifeguards can be seen and are present to keep you feeling safe while the kids are in the pool or on the slides.
The resteraunt area is kept spotless by the staff and they work really hard always with a smile on their faces, the food we really cant complain about something for everyone,ok it did repeat sometimes but still very nice.
The daytime entertaintment was there if you wanted to join in but they werent in your face, and the evening programme was a bit limited but there was stuff goin on most nights, special mention has to go to magic man who are son was joined by the hip to most days, really nice guy and worked really hard along with all the staff.
Considering this hotel is in its first year all inclusive and are still learning they`ve made our two week holiday a very happy and memorable one and do hope to go back soon to see them all again,thank-you to Thomas and all his staff.

Room Tip: K,L,M are the newest ones,A and B the closest to the bars.

Stayed here 1 week from 26th aug a bit apprehensive due to reviews left previously but think they must have been to a different hotel. 10 mins transfer which was great party consisted of 2 adults and 4 kids age 6-10. Given 2 apartments in m block. Absolutely lovely right next to the swim up bar. I run a cleaning company and found the apartments to be cleaned to an excellent standard, we were also cleaned each day for a week and given fresh towels & linen daily. We had a 1 bedroom apartment with fab bathroom, kitchen area with kettle microwave etc. A sofa bed that turned into 2 single for the little ones and sliding doors to bedroom for me. Pools were great, very clean & always found a sunbed. Swim up bar was great and Taz run this brilliantly. There was a jacuzzi and kids pool and playground in this area. Three other pools nearby and a couple of others located around the site. We walked to the beach a few times a ten min walk and beach was gorgeous and safe for kiddies. Also visited the kalamaki strip day and evening a 5 min walk and it was perfect for families. The best part of the stay was the waterpark! Fantastic and great for all ages. A wave pool. Lazy river, massive area with plenty of slides got little ones and 8 big slides. The big ones were open between 2 and 5 at any one time & the reason for them not being open all at once was glaringly obvious!!! Safety!!! Each time a slide was open there was lifeguards at top and bottom as well as a couple dotted around the park, when the wave machine was on 2 were sat watching the kids the entire time. We tended to go to the waterpark in the afternoon always got a sunbed and no queues. We felt our kids were very safe running about the waterpark alone it was very well supervised.
Food was great & as expected for all Inc, a good kids section which is rare in 4 * hotels, good salads, fresh meats and fish and yes some Greek dishes but we were in Greece. Drinks were plentiful and never had to q for longer than 10 min. Snacks were brilliant too, toasted sandwiches, hot dogs, wraps, cakes and the most delicious ice cream were avaliable all day from the bars. A great kids playground next to the waterpark kept kids amused also. The only downside was lack of good evening entertainment, we did do the bingo, karaoke and disco nights but maybe some acts brought in would have been appreciated. However the kids were kept amused by this, the games area and park so we were happy. The staff at this hotel from reception, waiters, bar staff, chefs, and management were great really friendly and kind ESP to our kids. Yes the hotel is near an airport but we had great fun watching planes come in & out and were not bothered by this. I would highly recommend this hotel for a good family holiday hav been going all Inc to 4* hotels for years and without doubt would say this holiday has been the best so far. Ignore all the bad reveiws and remember this hotel has only gone all Inc and had the waterpark this year I would be very surprised if it was not rated no. 1 on trip advisor next year for hotels in Kalamaki. It's a great find and makes for an awesome family holiday. We also did the trip to shipwreck cove and a submarine trip to see turtles, both were brilliant- see pat on the kalamaki strip - walk to strip and do a left, she did us fantastic deals.

Just returned from a 2 week holiday at caretta beach.Ive stayed as this hotel many times and has never been disappointed. The hotels manager Thomas moffit runs the friendly family hotel to a very high standard and is always around the hotel in case he is needed. We stayed in room m102 which is the new rooms, very clean and modern.Cleaners come every day with fresh towels and changes the sheets.I must make a point that ive stayed in 7 different rooms all round the hotel new and old and they are all good sized rooms and all very clean the staff never stop. The water park is a new addition to the hotel and if you have children they will love it .Its well laid out ,very clean and the life guards are fantastic .The new restaurant is great ,after reading bad reviews on the food i was a little worried but as soon as i was in there i had no complaints.Breakfasts was outstandig with a very big selection,Lunch was the same having two fussey children my girls never went hungry and the evening dinners were fantastic with different themes every night.Dennis and the head chef were on hand every night making sure the restaurant runs to a high standard .A tip for all the people moaning about the food is if your in greece your not going to have fish and chips every night if you want that type of food go to Blackpool next year .The food was exellent ,it was very clean and all staff friendly especially beko. The magic man goran entertained the children all day ,hes the sweetest man youll ever meet, and he has so much energy hes a real asset to the hotel all the children loved him and you could just tell he loves his job.The bar staff George Craig and Sam were very welcoming and friendley ,you could not fault them exellent.Over all caretta beach is the best hotel weve ever stayed in ,the staff make the holiday a big well done to Thomas for stepping up the hotel to another level outstanding and to all you people who have put bad reviews i dont know what you expect from a 4 star hotel i had no problems except when i had to leave Mrs Lindsay Williams and family

I travelled with my husband and two children aged 12 and 7. The facilities at the hotel are fantastic and the kids enjoyed the waterpark immensely. I guess after reading some of the negative comments I felt a little apprehensive. We were put into D block which in fairness were very nice but not suitable for a family as they were quite small. We spoke to the hotel management and the relocated us to the L block which were again were lovely and a lot larger. The food in the hotel was very good with a good selection of food available althogh it was a bit limited for the children. Snacks and ice ream were available from 10:30 - 18:00 with drinks being served through to 11:00. The staff were extremely friendly and always willing to help out. The cleanliness of the hotel was gool and if you needed anything further they always tried to assist. The waterpark opened from10:30 - 17:30 but you had to queue to get in but to be quite honest it became quite a good opportunity to people watch running for sunbeds. If you didn't want the hussle and bussle of the water parks there were seven other pools to choose. My son say a big hello to "Taz" and "Magic Man". i could really rave on about the hotel but would suggest that you try it. We do not generally revisit hotels but this would be an exception. One thing that I would point is that if you have a blonde child like us then ou may find that their hair has a tinge of green to it - Tomato sauce it the way to go!!

Room Tip: Request Rooms in block K, L and M as these are the new rooms and very nice.

We have a boy (age 9) and a girl (age 6) and they spent the whole holiday in the on-site water park. Very child friendly and the lifeguards are very alert. An 18 inch pool for younger ones. Our 6 year old could go on all but one of the big slides, which are a thrill for any age, child to adult.

The staff were extremely efficient, polite and helpful.

It is only 10 minutes from the airport, but do not let that put you off. It is perfect as you cannot hear the planes and is a perfect transfer.

Air conditioned rooms, excellent food (English pallet) with variety.

caretta hotel is an amazing hotel the staff are very nice and easy going, good to be around and have a laugh especially sam, george and craig, this is the only hotel i have been to where the staff actually make the effort to come out after their shifts at work and have a drink with you they even make the effort to return you back to the hotel at the end of the night. the food is good lots of choice but can be very repetative and the rooms are nice enought beds could be more comfy but they are good enough to sleep on, the water park is great as well, when i went the ques were not big on the water slides which was a plus. the location is great it is right around the corner from the kalamaki strip and shops so you do not have to travel far to the clubs, the laganas strip is a bit further away and you will need a taxi their or it is about 45 min to an hour walk which one time i had to do and my feet ached for ages after. all in all this is a great hotel and i would defo reccomend it the bar staff defo make it worth your while.
