Returned from our 5th visit and have reviewed this hotel 4 times before. What is there to say that hasn't been said before," Its Fantastic". However having just read another review felt we had to respond to the very negative points they made. This is a small family run hotel and yes a lot of the same people return year after year simply because of the fantastic way Ghelly and her staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. The service they give is not restricted to the returners, you will get the same treatment whether it is your first or 6th time there. The food is fantastic and there is plenty of choice for all. They have added new additions to all the meals. The whole point of this hotel is the friendliness of ALL the staff and the atmosphere. That is why most folk return year after year. People should research the resorts they are coming to. If you want a nice relaxing resort, this is for you, don't come here expecting to find designer shops. If you want a true feel of Greek hospitality, restaurants etc you will find it here.
In response to others, I do not know of any beach in a resort where you don't have to pay for sunbeds unless it is a private beach belonging to that hotel, so don't really know why they are complaining about that. The air-con is free from 2pm till 8am next day which is ideal so you only pay if you want it 24hr and most folk we know come for the sun not to sit in their room all day. As gold band members we have free 24hr aircon, free safety deposit box and free beach towels.
As for the cleanliness of this hotel it is one of the best, the maids are forever cleaning and our floor was washed every day.The beach is a 5 minute walk from this hotel and the main strip 5 minutes away where you can stroll to the other side of the resort and takes about 30 mins to get to the other end. This a great friendly hotel where you can meet and talk to others if you so wish, you are not forced into anything. This is not a huge faceless block of concrete with hundreds where no-one knows anyone. The entertainment is for laughs and you get plenty of that with Thomas and his team. It is not a nightclub or theatre so don't expect musicals and fancy shows, after all you don't have to stay and watch. There are other options in the hotel.
We are booked up again for next year and cant wait.Thank you Bitzaro for great holidays you deliver every time.

Just wanted to set the record straight. This summer was our fourth visit to Bitzaro in a row, and we have already booked up to return in Summer 2014, and hopefully this review will explain why we find ourselves returning year upon year.

From the minute you enter the hotel you are welcomed back by staff who recognise you from previous years and who could not do any more if they tried to make our stay here better. The staff around the whole hotel are excellent.

Rooms are well equipped and always spotless clean. Whilst the hotel is close to the airport approach path, there has been absolutely no point in the last four visits here where we could actually moan about the aircraft noise.

Another thing I'd like to address is those reviewers who feel it is necessary to review the whole resort under their 'hotel review'. It is not the hotel's fault that the resort consists of tourist shops and restaurants. What do they expect? A mall filled with HMV, McDonalds, and High Street stores? People should research the resort they are going to stay in before drawing conclusions.

The beach is a minimal 5-10min stroll from the hotel, and there are two ways to access it.
The greatest part of Bitzaro though is the food; the quality and selection of the buffet at every meal time is such that I have been in no other hotel that can match it, and we have travelled to many many hotels. Our table was reserved for us every night without fail.

As this is our fourth visit, we got the 'Gold Club' bands which meant we were entitled to free 24 hour air conditioning, safety deposit box, and pool towels.

Entertainment staff try their best and are always around to chat to, providing the hotel with bingo games each night prior to the main show. I notice people commenting about the fact that they had to sit on sunbeds - at no point during our stay did we have to do this - there were plenty of seats available; you just had to be down at the entertainment area slightly earlier. The bar staff also work very hard, particularly Nikki at the pool bar throughout the day.

In conclusion, we find ourselves returning to Bitzaro for the same reasons that lots of others do; guarantee of friendly welcome, great facilities, a guarantee of great food, and a great atmosphere, all topped off with a huge dose of sunshine and warm weather.

Who could ask for anything more?

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the hotel are more shaded from the sun during the day.

Couple aged 30 just returned from 1wk All Inc. during mid Sept. Transfer around 4-5 mins via a taxi (€13 each way but still cheaper and quicker than any bus transfer), check in very fast, efficient, and friendly. ROOM-not 'spectacular' but of a very decent standard, plenty of space, and kept very clean. FOOD-only had breakfast once but it was good, tended to eat snacks by the pool during lunch which were nice, and never had anything to complain about during the evening meal which was always varied and not repetitive. DRINKS-same as most other hotels with local spirits/standard cocktails, and some pretty good local lager. LOCATION-literally 1 minute from kalamaki strip which was pretty quiet at the time we visited although I'm told its quite lively during peak season, but a visit to the drunk corner is a must as the young lad Michael who works there is quite a character!!!! ENTERTAINMENT-tried to cater for all different ages and weren't pushy in their requests for people to join in but it's a great way to get involved/get to know other people and were continuous from 10:30am onwards. Lee from the team was a particularly nice lad, and even tho we never really managed to talk to Thomas much, he was really funny. All the hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. There were only two slight observations that could improve (in my opinion) and they were that as bingo started around 21:15 and didn't finish until around 22:00. That only left an hour for entertainment which is quite short compared to other hotels I've stayed in. I realise this is a small issue but if you don't like playing bingo then you have pretty much an hours (sometimes less) entertainment. The second issue being the sunbed reservation game, although its the same in most other hotels I feel I should mention it. I would definitely return to this hotel in a heartbeat and I wondered if the two slight issues at the end of the review were worth saying at all, but I'm not saying it to be negative-it was merely an observation and not a criticism.

Read all the reviews so I chose bitzaro for a holiday. Just as a couple. the entertainment team worked very hard but I didn't see a show until the last but one night of my stay. Cash bingo every night we played a couple of times, if you have one number left you stand up. Thomas was very good. But we thought you could spend a lot of euros doing it every night. We had to sit on the loungers behind everyone else could not help but notice the same people sat in the same places everyday. Our room was guiet until the cleaners turned up at 9 am every morning chattering away. Could hear suitcases being dragged along and the early planes did wake us. Breakfast was lukewarm and the same everyday. The rest of the meals seem fine. Yannis was very nice remembered our tipple. The beach was a little walk but you had to pay for loungers and a parasol. I don't think we will return as it didn't seem so wonderful as all the reviews had said and we like to try new places.

Room Tip: Don't have the rooms from 101 hear the cleaners and suitcases.

I actually choose this hotel after reading all the comments on Tripadvisor after selecting the location. Many people actually go there year after year and many couples actually meet
up at the same time each year. Thus I felt that the employees catered more to the people
that have stayed with them in the past. I was a bit disappointed that we did not get the type of room that we asked for in the booking. Upon going to reception was told that there were no rooms available until the next day but they would change our room then. They were very nice
about doing that however that should have been done in the first place. The second room was
again not what we asked for but I made no complaints as it was just ok. The hotel itself is
kept very clean but I feel that the maids could at least sweep / wash the floors on a daily basis.
Sand and debris were easily carried into the room and was not always cleaned up. Food was just ok. Breakfast was the same thing every morning with no variation. Variety of foods for dinner with lots of dishes with sauces.
The hotel was a bit farther from the beach than anticipated or what the brochure indicated.
The actual area of the town is only a short walk down the main road. The only shops are beach type souvenir shops in between restaurant and more restaurants. That is it. We happen to like to walk and do a little window shopping and this is definitely not the place for that.
We went into the town of Zykanthos one evening and basically it’s like any other town and
everything closes up at 5 or 6. The only shops that were open were souvenir shops.
bars and restaurants fill up the square and main road.
There are plenty of lounge chairs around the pool area, however, even though they ask you not to reserve them everyone does. There were lots of large groups of people that had a big
portion of the chairs reserved daily in the same space thus leaving one or two here and there.
You also have to pay extra for air conditioning and a room safe. There is a small frig in your room but does not keep things very cold as when you leave your room the electricity goes off.
