“Great hotel”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

My husband and I stayed in thye hotel in June 2012. This was our 9th visit to Kalamaki
and our first time to this hotel. We stayed on an all inclusive basis.

We flew out from Glasgow on a night flight and got to the hotel around 04.00. Our room was ready and as we had taken a taxi from the airport ( 13 euros) we were unpacked and in bed before the transfer coaches had left the airport.

The room was lovely with everything we needed and was serviced daily. the food was buffet style with a good choice although the breakfast was the same each day but the croissants and pain au raisin were every bit as good as you get in France.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the lady who ran the poolside bar remembered your name from day 1. She was busy all day and got your order correct every time. You can either have lunch at the poolside bar or in the restaurant which was really good.

There was entertainment most days and in the evening but we prefer to go out walking. It takes around an hour to walk round the town and we visit a bar or the coffee shop for a break on our way round.

My only gripe was that you only had a choice of 3 cocktails on the all inclusive deal. If you wanted something different you had to pay for it.

We had an early morning flight back home and were able to hire our room for the last night. The night receptionist phoned us a taxi back to the airport.

We will definitely visit Kalamaki again and will stay at this hotel

This is a family run hotel in a very good area, with staff that are all very helpful. We stayed for 10 days from the 4th October. Weather was hot with a couple of days showers. Hotel room overlooking pool, we stayed on the 3rd floor. You can leave patio door open all night without insect bites extra mesh sliding door. The rooms out of main hotel have no lifts. Good maid service rooms cleaned daily. Food in restaurant high standard and always replenished when empty. Lunch can be obtained from outside bar served by nicky who works very hard or inside restaurant. Large swimming pool with plenty of sun beds, you need your own towels, no hire service. Day and night time entertainment. You can enjoy a meal at sisiter hotel Bitzara Palace a couple of minutes walk away, just inform night before.Lovely beach which you can walk to Laganas.Taxi costs 8 euro but bus stop at top of road. Could not find any fault with this Hotel will return again If you have any problems talk to staff on reception who will sort it, dont complain on here.

Very pleased with our choice of hotel. From the outside, the hotel looks stunning, with its beautiful Mediterranean feel. The rooms were simple but nice. Close enough to local amenities. The highlight for me was the food, which was one of the best all inclusive buffets. Would definitely recommend.

We arrived after leaving the galaxy at laganas which we were disappointed with. The staff at bitzaro were just lovely. Couldn't do enough for you. Hotel very clean, rooms spacious and immaculate. Food gorgeous, hot and cold buffet and excellent selection for a smallish hotel, capacity about 450 in high season. The pool was a bit cold but the beach is 5mins walk and shelves gently in with warm shallow waters. The beach has no water sports because itbis the natural breeding ground for turtles and they are protected... It is a peaceful relaxing environment which suited us to a tee...there isn't much by way of entertainment in the evening except ingot, quizzes and karaoke. This suited us though. The noise from the entertainment could be disturbing if you are resident on poolside rooms but it ends at midnight, often before then and if you balcony doors are closed then you dont really hear it. We will definitely go back again without a shadow of doubt, it was just lovely. Ps, they don't hire pool towels so take your own.

Room Tip: Opposite sideto pool if you want quiet early nights

Booked through Thomas cook, everything went well, arrived on time 10 min transfer v efficient check in. Food was varied and good, drinks were....drinkable, pool lovely, room v clean staff were brilliant, we didnt take advantage of the entertainment much, but when we did it was enjoyable. You were definately not pushed to join in if you didnt want to. Yes there are a lot of repeat visitors, but surely that is a good sign as people want to return. Some larger groups did give the air that they felt more important as they had been before, but that didnt spoil my enjoyment, and i shall join them as i intend to return soon. weather bit mixed mid october but i expected that, most days had plenty of sun and it was over 30 when the sun came out

Room Tip: rooms 230 to 245 are away from main building i had 241 which was very quiet yet 2 mins from bar/rest...

My partner Emma and I went on holiday to The Bitzaro Grande in Kalamaki Zante on 7th October 2012. We arrived and checked in to a lovely duplex room with 2 bathrooms and two balconies. We had to pay 4 euros a day for the aircon but we didn't mind at all. The reception staff were friendly and efficient with Helena at the helm. they couldn't do enough for us. The food was good and a great range from full English Breakfast, croissants at dinner time again a great range of hot and cold foods with a choice at the pool bar too. Evening meal was excellent with special local dishes. Clean cutlery and tables and a nice ambiance outside the main restaraunt.
The all inclusive was good, we understood that you get watered down beer and local sprits and wines. It was plentyful and gratefully recieved. Although we and friends went out of the resort to Zakynthos Town and had a couple of lovely ice cold pints of Mythos beer and a couple of of lovely pints at the Drunken Corner in Kalamaki.
The daily maid service was excellent and our sheets and towels were changed regularly/daily.
The pool area was good with lots of sunbeds and the entertainment was great, headed up by Tomasz and his team. If you are prepared to get stuck in and have a laugh it will make your holiday. We were on first name terms with the staff and we were made to feel very welcome.
They play bingo nightly and prizes range in euros from 30 euros to around 240 euros. We won over 120 euros one night!! It was fun and was a good start to the nights entertainment. For us personally, It was a great holiday that we will always remember. We met some great friends on holiday too. Just to mention the lovely bar maid Nickey at the pool bar, She works so hard behind the bar preparing drinks of your choice and serving food. We do like to try new places each time for our holidays but maybe one day, this is a resort we would go back to.
Thank you.
