“No surprise so many return year after year”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

Just returned from two fantastic weeks at the Dias, first time in Zante and we chose it from the reviews on here...not disappointed in any way. Close to the airport but no issues with aircraft noise, just good to have a very short transfer of 5 mins! Rooms are spacious even for three people, daily maid service...though they had to return "later" every day as we couldn't seem to wake up in time! Lovely pool which due to the heat we spent most days in, beach is a fair walk or it seemed so in the heat, although there are a few bars along the way. Walked along the beach to Laganas, not a bad walk but again so very hot, free sunbeds if you buy a drink at the beach bars. Back to the Dias, well run and the staff really look after you, special thanks to Howard, where do you get your energy from? He is so lovely, great sense of humour and offers great advice on best places to go etc, oh and makes a mean black russian, thanks Howard! Thanks to Skerdi too, not sure he got the "bloody hell" story but it made us laugh!
Met some lovely people staying there, especially Chloe and her Mum, Marjorie and her husband, really no surprise people return year after year, hope to see you all again sometime, highly recommend a stay at this lovely hotel and resort.

We've just got back from staying two weeks at Dias and I simply can't fault it! The hotel is relatively near to the airport, and so with the transfer we were first off after only 5 minutes. Being so near to the airport wasn't an issue, as planes couldn't be heard in the night, and we weren't woken once by them. The hotel is relatively near the main strip (Kalamaki -> Laganas) and is surrounded by lovely restaurants/bars. Though the beach is much further than expected, and the walk can be exhausting in the heat.
The staff were hard working and friendly, even the maids, who found humour in the fact we seemed unable to get out of bed earlier than 11 o'clock. Howard, the manager, was fantastic in helping us from things like extra towels to where to book our Shipwreck boat trip. He's very hardworking and friendly, and we enjoyed his company and he was very entertaining! Skerdi, too, was very hard-working and lovely, although I do wish I could have managed to beat him in at least one game of pool...
Most of the other guests we talked to had stayed at Dias multiple times, and kept coming back. I can't say I blame them! I was looking forward to going again before I'd even left. I can't praise it enough; I loved it!

Howard the manager, makes you feel at home as soon as you walk up the path to the hotel, I have never loved a hotel as much, ever night we would sit downstairs, at the bar and talking to Howard for hours, and we never stopped laughing, we will defiantly be going back very soon, the rooms are cleans ever day and the pool is brilliant. The whole hotel is brilliant.

1st stay at Dias and hope to go again. Just round the corner from the shops and restaurants. About a 15min walk to beach. Clean and tidy. Made to feel at home. Howard and all the staff made us feel so welcome.

The excellent reviews for the Dias are all accurate and honest.
Nothing genuinely is to much trouble and Howard and his team are fantastic and hard working and their aim is to make sure you have the best stay possible. All the staff are friendly and professional.
The rooms are clean and light and the cleaning staff work hard ensuring we had clean towels every day. The sheets are changed regularly and every effort is made ensure you are comfortable.
Prices in the bar are very competitive and the breakfast was fresh and plentiful. We don't normally eat breakfast where we stay as we each take turns to vote where to have our early dinner as it is in reality. But Dias won the vote time and time again.
The pool was clean and not over chlorinated and the sun loungers plentiful.
I have seen comments about the kitchen utensils being in short supply and if we were eating in our rooms a lot that possibly is a reasonable comment. My wife added possibly a toaster could be a good addition.
The location of the Dias is excellent being 75 m from the main strip but quiet and not bothered by traffic car or human.
A lot of the guests were people who returned time and time again and I must say we will be looking to add to that list!
My only criticism is of Howard
Next time my 12 year old son pushes you in the pool fully clothed and with your mobile in your pocket don't be so bloody nice about it ;)
I also apologise unreservedly by commenting on your Yorkshire accent, sorry
All jokes aside I would recommend the Dias to families and couples of all ages if you want good accommodation with excellent service and a fantastic location.

This was our first holiday to Kalamaki, as well as alone without our parents (we're 17), and we were so glad to have chosen Dias. The setting for us was perfect, as we are not the kind to go clubbing every night - therefore Laganas just didn't seem appealing!
The apartments were lovely - being only a 2* we weren't expecting much in terms of accommodation, so the cleanliness and spaciousness was fantastic! The maids cleaned every day, and our towels were always clean. One day my friend's t-shirt was taken in with the washing, and the maid was ever so apologetic when she brought it back!
The staff were incredible - Howard was lovely to us, and even though we were young he treated us just like any other guest. I didn't get to meet his wife, though I have heard great things about her, too. The little boys were adorable - even the younger one who jumped out to scare us, and made me shriek out in fright! They always said hello, which was very lovely. Yiannis was also very friendly, and we got to know Skerdi the bartender quite well, who was always welcoming and a lovely young man!
The resort itself was very nice, as it wasn't too loud at night, and the beach was only a ten minute walk away! Though the PR men outside of the restaurants always approached us trying to convince us to go inside with free cocktails etc. they were also all very nice and we familiarised ourselves with them! Excursions were very good and the surrounding towns were easy to get to and nice to explore.
The only horrible thing about the holiday was coming home! We only went for one week, but we are planning on coming back next year for three because it was so fantastic. We didn't have a chance to eat in the restaurant but definitely will do next year!

We visited Kalamaki for the first time.We chose the Dias apartments as they looked ideal in the brochure. The apartments did not disappoint. They are situated in a central location within 5 minutes of the beach restaurants and all necessary amenities. the apartments are very spacious and kept immaculate by the excellent service provided by the maids. The only downside was the lack of cooking utensils. This is not a problem however as there is a superb restaurant situated within the apartments. The pool is excellent and sun beds are readily available. We would not hesitate to visit these apartments again.
