Another fantastic holiday at the Dias, We booked again to go independent and not use Thomas Cook. The rooms are kept spotlessley clean. The food in the Dias taverna and pool bar is some of the best in Kalamaki.
The staff provde an outstanding level of service, maybe calling them staff is a bit too formal they are more like friends or family.
During our stay we went on a turtle spotting boat trip organised by the hotel and it was a fantastic day out. Just 20 or so of the guests from the hotel. It was great swimming in Keri caves.

Special mention to Howard, who goes the extra mile for the guests, thanks mate.

We like this place so much we booked again for next year before we left. Role Aug 13.

Room Tip: If you go independent transfers, safe & aircon is included and you get the top floor really good...

just got back from 2 week stay, we have been going to kalamaki every year for the last 8 years, and always made the trip to dias for fantastic food, as i believe its the best food and service you can get. however this year was the first time i stayed in the dias with a family party of 17.
needless to say the staff here were great, labros..howard and skerdi just couldnt do enough for you. there aim was to make sure you had a great holiday, this was the first time they organised trips for dias residents only, a boat trip to see the turles, and the keri caves, a really relaxing trip, and the water park for the more energetic. again there aim was not to charge you over the top prices like many on the main strip, but to ensure you had a good time at a very good price.
also in this hard times many bars on the strip serve cheap brands of drink..which is fine at the prices you pay, but at the dias they only ever serve main brand drinks which for the extra 50c is well worth the extra cost.
having stayed at many hotels in kalamaki..i beleive that the best is the dias..and many would be hard pressed to get to the high standards of labros and howard.

Room Tip: they only have 24 rooms on 4 floors..the top floor reserved for direct bookings..the views fron the...

We returned from the Dias Apartments today, a group of ten with kids aged 13 to 19 and parents 41 to 48 and I can honestly say we have had a truly fantastic fortnight in the Dias and the resort of Kalamaki. I have been to Zante three times and this is by far the best experience of all three trips. So here are our points being as honest as possible:-

Apartments - The apartments are typically Greek so expect the usual but we do not holiday for a room. They are spacious enough, open plan studios that sleep three. The bathroom is a wet room. They are not brand new but are kept immaculate, cleaned every day, beds made every day, washing up done every day, towls replenished, swept tidy even night clothes folded and left on the bed. The Dias is a small block of about 24 rooms with a really nice friendly atmosphere.

Pool - always got beds, even getting up at 10am. Pool side is cleaned every day, again kept immaculate, not overly treated with chlorine turning your swim shorts yellow and no ear infections!!! It was so hot we never really ventured to the beach and spent most of our time in the pool and at the bar!!

Pool bar - Howard the manager of the pool bar was great, always serving us with a bit of banter, starting work at 9am and still there some nights past 3am!! Food served from breakfast at 9am through to 2pm. Full English breakfast, toast, scrambled egg, toasties, you name it it's there and good quality to coming from the attached Dias Restuarant as part of the overall complex. Howard arranged a boat trip exclusively for the apartment residents instead of joining an over crowded boat booked off the main strip. This was really great we saw turtles in the port before we even got on the water!

Restaurants - there are about 30 or 40 of these in the resort, read the other reviews and this and understand one simple thing - don't bother eating on the strip. The Dias Restaruant on the doorstep is the best restaurant in Kalamaki by a country mile. Not only is the quality outstanding the price is better as well. So please take some good advice, if you fancy a meal on the main strip getting offered discounts and free starters - DON'T BOTHER! We used the Dias Resturant everyday either morning or evening. The only time we didnt was because we fancied something different such as a snack in the Drunken Corner about 20 metres from the apartments which was also great for a simple snack. We did use a couple of restaurants on the main strip they were ok but the Dias restaurant is in a different class.

Bars - As mentioned above the Drunken Corner was fabulous, with about 20 tv screens we saw most of the Olympic events whilst we were away. The staff were excellent and really friendly. The next best was The Venue, a short walk along the main strip this karaoke bar was open until early hours. It was used by all ages and great for our kids as well as ourselves. Both shut their doors at 12 midnight and lock you in if you wish to carry on till 3 or 4am this suited the two girls in our group aged 17 and 19. The Cave is also worth a mention for a different cocktail experience, it's at the end of the strip with a shuttle bus service up the hill.

In summary, I would definitely go back, the Dias was a great place to stay, immaculately clean, great Restuarant, and Kalamki is a perfect resort for all ages, not too busy and not too quiet.

my self and my mum have just return home 2 weeks ago from zante - kalamaki and dias hotel. had a great time . howard and linzi and the boys were really nice and always went out there way. anything you asked for they done for you. Skerdi The Bar Dude For The Afternoon Was Also Nice and good to talk to, even took me to the venue on the main road and a walk down the beach, which was nice of him. had a good laugh with him it was my mums birthday while we were away and we had our dinner in dias resturant and they even put balloons and banners on the table and put reserved table. which i thought was really good of them :) food and drink was very good and good prices, nothing was dear at all. 10/10 for everything. the cleanliness of the rooms and hotel was superb, clean beds and towel every couple of days.. just less than 10 mins on the coach to the hotel from the airport we were the first stop. but please remember mosquito's tablets and sprays. ( because i was bitten and had to go to the doctors for antibiotics but apart from that , this was the best holiday ever.

I am returning back in september for one week.. then again in june 2013...

Stayed at the Dias Studio & Apartments for 2 weeks in July and really enjoyed it!

Howard and Lindsey do an excellent job running the place, always pleasant, friendly and willing to help.

The apartments are situated directly in the middle of the resort (Kalamaki) near to all the best restaurants/bars and a 10 minute walk to the beach. My personal favourites; Buon Amici (Italian Restaurant) and Red Tail (Cocktail Bar) are right on the doorstep and I highly recommend them, the adjoined Dias Restaurant is also excellent.

The rooms are basic which is standard in Greece, but are very clean and have everything you need. However, air con is £50 a week but well worth it!

Highly recommend a stay here for families or couples if you like a quiet, family friendly atmosphere.

Thanks for the great stay,

Craig and Hannah.

really basic but excellent place. As everybody has said the hosts howard & linsey are great. If you listen to Island fm on saturday you can hear him.
The room is ok, I think it was cleaned every day (definatly every other day). The chalet maid would appologise if I was on the balcony reading. I told her to carry on.
the pool is excellent & was right outside my balcony door.
In the garage was a race car now Howard knew I am something of a petrolhead & he arranged for me to go & have a look, now that was above & beyond the call of duty.
