Excellent breakfast buffet, live music (not too loud, unlike other places), beautiful setting, and it even has a children's play area for little ones to stay busy! Located in a beautiful, quieter part of town, you can go shopping or tour the area before or after you eat. Highly recommended!

“Big disapointment”
Reviewed November 28, 2013 via mobile

We have lived in Guadalajara for 7 years and this restaurants was always the one where we brought friends on their first visit to Tlaquepaque.
It used to be full with live entertainment aa female mariachi band who were outstanding and the food was excellent.
We had not been in the last 10 months and we went on Tuesday this week with 3 guests.
We arrived around 13:30 and found only a few people in the restaurant. When we were given the menu, it had changed, new menu, no music, no lady making tortillas in the restaurant either.
My friends ordered tortas ahogadas and the bread was dry and old and the meat was cold. My husband and I ordered the Biria as it is a house specialty, and our other friend ordered Arrachera.
The waiter came back and told us that they did not have Biria, my husband ordered a taco and I ordered Carnitas and we both asked for flour tortillas. It came with corn tortillas and we had to wait 15 minutes for the flour ones.
The carnitas were horrible, dry meat a tasteless guacamole and canned refried beans.
The only meal that was OK was the arrachera.
We complained to our server and asked if there was a new owner because it was so veryndifferent than whatnwe were used to but he said no. He told us that they had a new chef and then we understood.
We wrote a critic for the owner. They did not charge us for 3 of the meals.

We will definately not bring guests there until we have tried it by ourselves.
Tlaquepaque is such a wonderful, place to walk around and window shop or shop and presently it has a good selection of places to eat so we will go elsewhere before we go to El Patio again.

“Good service -- bad food”
Reviewed November 26, 2013 via mobile

Should have known something was wrong whe we had to send back the tortilla soup TWICE just to get it warm. Waiters were attentive and seemed embarrassed. Chef must have called in sick this night -- the worst, most unimaginative food we have had in our years in Mexico.

“Ótimo passeio”
Reviewed September 14, 2013 via mobile

I was able to make a reservation for saturday lunch. At 15h there is a mariachi presentation, female mariachis, very talented.
Also some couples presenting traditional dances. That makes it even better.
The place it self is located in Calle Independencia, very comfortable and nice patio inside with trees, and a fountain.

I really recommend, beause has excellent cost benefit.

“Great Atmosphere, Good Food & Service”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

This is our second visit to El Patio, we enjoyed the unique female Mariachis last year so we came back with friends. I notice a lot of different comments about this place. Both of our experiences were very enjoyable. I wouldn't rate the food as really top cabin or gourmet, but it's solid regional cuisine with ample portions. It always seems to be rather full at mid-day, especially around 3:00 when the live music begins. When i visit a restaurant that has received good and not so good reviews, i always observe what is going on around me to see what might be justified. It seemed to me that all the tables were getting excellent and attentive service. I would say that about 75% of the people here this time were Mexicans and were having a great time, so a recent comment about bad service to Mexicans seems rather ridiculous. I'm not sure how often i would return, but for people visiting Tlaquepaque, it's a unique spot with reasonable prices and i doubt you will be disappointed.
