Description: El Patio is a restaurant/bar located in the heart of Tlaquepaque, Jalisco. We await you with a mariachi band, live music and our traditional Mexican cuisine. You can enjoy all of this in a fresh and natural ambiance within the walls and garden of a 19th century house.

We ordered the platter and shared it four ways. It was so much food and so tasty. Our waiter was so friendly and helpful, the mariachi group was a great surprise and the cost was more than reasonable. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

This is my favourite eating place in Tlaquepaque. El Patio has indoor and outdoor dining. Sitting close to the fountain with beautiful fresh flowers is very relaxing after a hard day shopping. The food is great, and the female mariachis come and play for an hour. You are so refreshed that you want to continue shopping.

Seems like the place is a real tourist spot, right off of the main strip in Tlaquepaque. It is a large place, and service is inconsistent. When we arrived and no one came to take our drink order (which is strange in Mexico as that's what they usually ask when they seat you), this should have been an indication.

We had the mushrooms and the roasted bone marrow as an appetizer - the bones had very little marrow and were a little over done and the mushrooms were not very flavourful. The mains, ribeye and one of the fish fillets (bella marina or something to that effect) were also average. The steak was not a thick cut but was underdone and underseasoned, and the fish, which was done with almond slivers on top, was served with a sauce that was quite sweet. The vegetables served with the mains were not tender, rather undercooked.

The female mariachi group was good though, and it seemed like the other patrons really enjoyed the; however, I cannot imagine going back for the food as there are other places in Tlaquepaque that are better. Cost the same as some other high end places I've visited in the city with better service, food, and drink.
