San Mauro is not a very touristic place, but on passing from Turin towards Piedmont it made a convenient and nice stay. Clean, nicely designed rooms, nice and welcoming staff, free parking and wi-fi. Good value for the price. Breakfast as boring as it can get - like it often is in Italy - is the only thing to complain about. If you need a restaurant, The Casserole across the bridge was a nice pasta restaurant to our liking.

We have stayed at Hotel La Pace twice and the hotel is in a nice area, good rooms with free Wi-Fi, satellite TV and air conditioning and they offer a tasty breakfast. Parking is free at this family-run hotel in San Mauro Torinese, a 15-minute drive from Turin. It is a short walk across the river to coffee shops, gelato and close to banks, farmacia and cafes and restaurants.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the back are quieter.

Typical Italian room. Bed a trifle springy but otherwise more than acceptable. Pleasant staff and good welcome. Breakfast a little restricted. Good wifi. Noise level at rear very good. San Mauro a very pleasant place.

La Pace is situated in the lovely picturesque suburb of Torino, called San Mauro, with lovely views of Superga in the morning to wake up with, and also a beautiful cathedral lit-up at night. Having now visited Torino twice and staying at La Pace both times, I have to say how lovely and relaxing both stays have been. The hotel is family run by husband and wife team, Roberto & Paola, and that famous Italian family atmosphere runs through out the establishment.

The hotel is a short bus ride from the centre of the city and the bus that serves San Mauro runs straight to the famous outside market, the shopping centre of the city, the Church which houses the shroud of Turin, museums, and Squares where you can behave like James Richardson from Football Italia.

If you're not interested in going to city centre every evening of your stay for a meal, there are a number of restaurants along the road leading to the city of Torino which serve good local fare. One place we found serves the Torino favourite of Farinata with lots of varieties of this famous dish – it is a must try when you visit Torino!!

Very rarely does one stumble across a true gem of a hotel, but in La Pace, we have definitely found one of the finest!

Based only a short bus ride from the centre of Turin, the hotel offered us a peaceful place to stay with the beautiful Superga as its backdrop, and the district of San Mauro just a stone’s throw away! It is run by a very welcoming family, who make you feel at ease right away.

The breakfast selection is extensive and will keep you filled-up right until lunch-time! We enjoyed our stay so much the first time we visited Turin, that we always return to La Pace on our annual pilgrimage… A relaxing place that we call home from home.
