Lovely setting, nice ambiance and very polite and friendly staff but the food and service were disappointing. We ordered 3 steaks and 1 rack of lamb. First, we were left at the table with menus and wine list for over 30 minutes and had to call one of the few waiters over to take our order. Two of our three steaks came overcooked. The first was well overcooked and returned immediately. The second was just acceptable but poor quality steak and mostly left uneaten. They did not even ask how the lamb rack was to be cooked and it just came well done - grey rather than pink. Once the meals arrived we had to then search for a waiter to bring basic accompaniments such as mustard - all the time steaks going cold and frustration rising. During the meal and after finishing no one asked if we were happy or why one person had left most of his steak. My impression was that they had too few trained staff. This is surprising given the excellent reviews on this site and the fact that dinner here is more expensive than at many other restaurants. Perhaps we were just unlucky or they were having a staff problem.
