“Just love this place”
Reviewed June 24, 2012

I arrived on Malapascua on the 1st of June this year.Went straight to Dano Beach Resort because of reviews i had read on trip adviser. So we weren,t expecting a 5 star resort. We had one of the huts right on the beach. For us this was paradise. The location is perfect because it is situated on one of the best beaches, but within easy walking distance to many resturants and dive shops.Dano have a large section of bounty beach to themselves. It was there off season when we arrived so breakfast was not included,in fact they were not providing any meals at all. This was not a problem because there are so many other places nearby to eat at.Our hut was basic with cold water and a ceiling fan but with a nice verandah overlooking the sea.Because of sea breeze we were never too hot and the ocean was right there in front of us.Exotic dive resort is a short walk away and a great place to eat. There dive shop is also well run and very professional.Only stayed 5 days on the island which is not long enough especially if you are diving but we enjoyed the place so much and really miss falling asleep to the sound of the waves every night.Cant wait to go back and when we do we will be trying to get our hut at Dano beach resort again.

Room Tip: Try and get a room right on the beach

Yes this place is on the beach but cheap it isn't . 1200 pesos and the rooms are dirty, noisy and the bed linen is filthy. We woke up with no water and the toilet didn't work.
We are back packers so if it was cheap we wouldn't have cared but 1200 is very expensive and not worth the money. You can get a room at malapascua dive resort if you stay a bit longer for the same price

This place is beach front. The duplex cottages are spread across a huge piece of property, and they have a nice wide beach in front of that property. The rooms are basic; two twin size bed, no hot shower, no TV and no fridge. For budget travelers, the fan room is a good choice, 1,500 pesos only. For people who need AC, they have AC rooms available for 2,400 pesos. Breakfast is included and is good. For those who just need a bed to sleep in, this is a good choice. They have a few boats that can be rented for snorkeling and touring around the island. The folks who run the place are nice and will try to accomodate your requests. The staff are nice too. If they fix the little things, like rusted hinges, and added some picture frames and bigger mirrors, and some more furniture inside, it will go a long way to improve the place.

Daño occupies huge area right on the Bounty beach. The cottage I stayed in was not at the beach front, but still I was able to see and listen to the sea while sitting on the terrace of the room.

The room itself is very basic, but with such a good location (and rate) I wouldn't ask more.
Breakfast at the restaurant is included in room rate, and we have a choice from American, Continental plus fruits, and Philippino.

Several restaurants can be found nearby, and some local (inexpensive) food outlets also can be found at the back of next door Exotic Resort, close to Purple Snapper Restaurant. Sometimes a bit loud music from KTV can be heard in daytime, but they seems like close very early, it's very quiet at night.

The thing I like most about this resort is that it is right in front of Bounty Beach and distant from the restaurants/bars..away from the hustle and bustle of the island. Rooms are basic - with simple bed, a/c, mirror, dresser, and only have cold shower. They have a restaurant and offer free breakfast but there are other better restaurants in the area (I recommend Purple Snapper, Ocean Vida, and Sun Splash). If you'd like to roam around the island, island hop, or go to snorkeling sites, pump boats are available to rent. They don't change sheets and clean rooms daily unless you ask them. Staffs are friendly and nice though. Will definitely stay here every time I visit Malapascua.

Service is kind and always very prompt. Are always able to help you with the ferries etc. The accommodation itself is very simple yet comfortable. The showers is cold and the water was barely running out of it. Also the fan was quite loud in the ceiling as it was circulating through out the nights. Otherwise, like I said, for great for travelers on a budget, especially for friends who can take a cabin for more people. Right by the beach! I was really satisfied!
