To be honest, I was disappointed by the lighthouse.
We took a habal habal (motorcycle) from Bounty beach for a day trip around the island. The lighthouse was our second stop. We stopped at the village and then climbed up - the trek is about 10 minutes, not so tiring, but the muddy path (trail, really!) is very narrow - so remember to wear good shoes and cover your legs (else the thorny shrubs will poke you!)
The view from the top was nothing great. All you can see is the bland plaque on the lighthouse base. You are not allowed to climb up (it is locked!) and the view is just so-so.
It is a bit breezy, but there is no need to climb up all the way just to enjoy some breeze!
in my opinion, don't bother to climb up - instead enjoy the other beaches. (the last beach we visited - on the northern tip of the island was the most beautiful one! we spent abut one hour there - right upto sunset
