Took crew out for dinner, food and ambience was good. When it came time for the check we were served one of our courses in a take out bag with an apology that they forgot to serve but we were to still be charged. I asked to see the manager and he was very unprofessional and asked us if "we" had reminded the server who had forgotten? It was uncomfortable situation for every everyone and ruined the night.

I have been to Malapascua several times over many years as it is close by and great diving. the last 3 trips I would estimate that we would eat 60-70% of all our lunch and dinners there.

They have a good selection on their menu and their daily specials never disappoint.

Staff a great (as most are almost everywhere on the island) and always making sure your happy.

Can't recommend Oscars enough. They will not disappoint and definitely my favourite on the Island.

After a long stay diving on Malapascua I managed to try pretty much all of the restaurants. And out of my top ten meals, nine would be from the ‘specials’ menu at Oscars. As well as the standard quite excellent menu of breakfasts, light bites, huge pancakes, sandwiches, Filipino and English staples (this is a British dive resort, after all), there’s also a daily ‘Specials’ menu. Just four main items, and it changes every day, depending on what’s fresh. There’s frequently a classic British dish like Bangers and Mash (real potato and proper sausages), Steak and Ale Pie with real gravy, and on Sunday, a full English Roast Dinner. But there are also Filipino dishes, some superb pastas (the Pasta Amatriciana was the best meal I ate during my whole stay) and some imaginative fish dishes. Just be aware that the servings are very generous. Then, if you still have room, there are the desserts – the Dark Chocolate Mousse is, in my opinion, the best thing on the whole island, but their White Chocolate Mousse, Banoffee Pie and Mango Float are very close behind. It doesn’t hurt that they serve the best coffee on Malapascua as well…

The restaurant upstairs is currently being rebuilt – they have candlelit tables on the beach in the evening, and a big shaded area in front of the bar where you can sit and chat with the very friendly instructors, interns and divers.

Unreservedly recommended.

Oscar's was such a wonderful surprise. Don't let it's laidback, unassuming amniance fool you. This place has some of the best tasting dishes in the island. It has a diverse menu, from British, to Indian, Indonesian, Filipino fare, and more. The nasi goreng was fabulous! The pratha was divine! And the fish and chips, just wow! Hands down, the best in the Philippines. And the best part was the food was relatively cheaper than most of the restaurants we dined in the island. For the quality of the food and the friendly service, it definitely was great value for money.

The only downside to our dinner was the fact that it was our last night in the island, and we hadn't discovered the place much earlier. But at least we now know where to hang out and eat the next time we're back in Malapascua.

Both the Indian paratha roll and fish and chips were excellent. Can get smaller serves called "light bites" or larger serve of 3 pieces of fish with chips. Indian roll came with rice and sauce so it was an adequate main meal. Would have eaten there more often if we had not decided to try other restaurants on the island. Went for fish and chips 2 days in a row as it was so good!
