Has new owners since we were there last year so I thought I would post new review. It is still just as good and the new owners are friendly and helpful. We will see you again next year. The swimming hole is a highlight and the kids love feeding the eels

Thanks Murray!! So pleased you enjoyed your stay again. The swimming hole and river tubing are firm favourites here - and the water is surprisingly warm - just the thing for a hot summers day.
We look forward to seeing you again next summer - there will certainly be new things to see and do, but of course the rivers will still be here,
Best Regards, Jane

We stayed two nights with our van on the campgrounds. Our site was beautiful situated near the forest and a small river. The facilities were clean.
We liked very much the outdoor kitchens. Just like the main kitchen they were equipped very well.
In the evening the campground offers kiwi tours in the Trounson Kauri Park. Unforunately we didn't have the luck to see a kiwi. But it was very interesting to learn something about the kauri trees.

Great place to take the kids and forget about things. The location is perfect, there is a great swimming hole ideal for adults and kids, you can go tubing down the stream to another calm area where you can kayak etc. There are glow warms to be seen at night and you can go and see eels in the same area where you kayak, at night. There isalso a flying fox, tramps and a little park to keep the kids entertained. The camp is surrounded by trees which gives it that feeling of tranquility. The main kitchen is spacious and there is an outside kitchen andBBQ. There are tent sites, camper van sites and cabins. Reasonably priced too at $37/night for a tent site on new years eve and new years.

Thank you for your kind review. I am so pleased you enjoyed your holiday with us. Tubing is probably THE most popular and unique feature here at Kauri Coast - although there is so much more to enjoy here - and it looks like you certainly made the most of your stay!. Hope you return real soon

We were interested to see what our first non-beach camping holiday would be like and were pleasantly surprised. Kids loved playing in the river shallows on rubber tyres and deeper swimming holes perfect for adults. Playground and flying fox kept kids busy whilst we could relax on the deck outside the communal kitchen/dining. Short drives to Kai Iwi Lakes and Omamari beach. New owners and staff friendly and trying very hard with their first busy summer season.

This was above our expectations for a holiday park. We stayed in a 2-bdrm cabin unit that was very clean and modern, with a fully equipped kitchen, beautiful wood dining table, and porch. The property is in the middle of nowhere surrounded by a river, so very peaceful to sleep. There are lots of activities for kids, including FIVE trampolines and a zipline. The hostess is very friendly and helpful. We loved it here.

Thank you Claudia M for your review. Our 2 bedroom self contained units are very popular, and I am so pleased you loved your time with us. The trampolines are a great favourite with many kids, and allow their parents to enjoy the peace and quiet. Hope to see you again sometime

from dargaville travel 32 kms north west to the peaceful holiday park surrounded by a stream with a good swimming hole, the park caters for all campers some cabins have a kitchen only while some have shower only, plenty of room for camper vans, tent sites powered and non powered nearby is the settlement of kaihu and while there visit kai iwi lakes, further on the townships of omapere and opononi, while there have fish and chips at opo takeawys opo was a playful dolphin that died there it was popular with people often swimming around them and playing ball, oh by the way cell phone coverage doesn't exist at the holiday park as its in a deep valley so that's a bonus PEACE

Room Tip: Kauri coast holiday park is set in peaceful surroundings and has a stream running through the camp...
