“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2012

We stayed one night, it's am amazing location but if the main access road is closed the back road is quite difficult to navigate, without and SUV I would not recommend using this access route.

The food was quite good, buffet for dinner and buffet for breakfast was included in the price of a room for two $400USD per night. The view is what makes it amazing, the mountains sore from each side of the hotel. The staff were top notch, the manager of the hotel (Fransisco I think is his name) was really lovely and really interested in making sure we were having a good time. The rooms were very comfortable too. Large bar area, pool table, poker table and library. Spa services. Heliport pad for heliskiing or you can heli in from Santiago. We were told in high season the helicopters would be coming from Santiago four times per week.

If you are looking for something completely different.....

From Rancagua take the Carretera del Cobre to the town of Coya, where the pavement ends. A few km down the road is the entrance to a private road. 25km on this road will take you to the Puma Lodge and its privileged setting. After the journey, the welcome from the hotel staff and the intimate feel of the lodge is a reassurance that you will be in for a treat.
Eduardo Mondragon, head guide and coordinator, gave us the full tour of the lodge, its history, and explained all the options available. Attention to detail is evident in every corner of the lodge. There are computers available to guests on each floor as well as wi- fi service. Alexis, the friendly and creative barman, serves an excellent welcome cocktail.
The lodge has a large meeting room for corporate meetings, and a well equipped SPA complete with sauna, steam room, and outdoor hot tubs. (Don’t miss the chance for a massage). We booked an easy hour-long hike up to a cypress forest with Jose, the guide. He said that there are a great number of possible excursions, including a trip up to the thermal baths, extended hiking trips, fly fishing and horseback trips. (When you book your trip it would be advisable to inquire about the possible excursions and organize them in advance.)
The rooms are tastefully decorated with comfortable beds, and spectacular views out to the Andes. Bathrooms are big with great showers, and everything you would expect from a five star hotel.
The meals in the dinning room were excellent, and very well complemented by an extensive wine collection. The lodge staff went out of their way to make us feel at home, so much so that we did not want to leave. We booked a romantic weekend package with a 5pm late check out.
All of this said – this lodge’s specialty is high end Heli Ski in the winter. I can only imagine the thrill of a trip up to the fluffy virgin powder on the peaks that surround the Puma Lodge.

If you are looking to go somewhere new to go for a weekend that is not too far from Santiago, I can highly recommend Puma Lodge. It is a high end lodge that is part of the Noi Hotel group and it is set in a gorgeous location surrounded by stunning mountains. It opened its doors last August as a heliskiing lodge but has a summer program too. At the moment they have a special on. This includes accommodation for 2 nights – 3 days, all meals and various activities including hiking and fly-fishing.

My husband and I recently spent a weekend there with some friends and had a wonderful time. The hotel is modern and tastefully decorated. The rooms are modern and very comfortable, clean and well appointed. When you arrive you will receive a welcome drink in the bar/lounge area by Gary, a South African who is the head of catering. The food was excellent. We were offered breakfast and a 3-course meal for both lunch and dinner. We went hiking with a delightful young guide, Jose, both mornings and then fly-fishing late one afternoon. This included a hors d'oeuvres and drinks by the river. There is a pool table and games and a well stocked bar to keep you entertained in the evenings!
