My husband and I just returned from a week at Trevi Village. The reason we stayed in Amantea was because my grandfather was born there and I wanted to do some research. This hotel is a great place for families--lots of kids and activities for them. The pool is lovely, and the rooms are steps from the beach. Unfortunately, our room connected by a locked door to a room with very loud children. At times, it sounded like there was no door between us, and they were up late every night. I was glad we didn't understand much Italian because we could hear every word. We were told later we could have asked to have our room changed. The meals in the dining room were great, except for our free breakfast buffet which was exactly the same everyday, including the bowls of canned fruit. The staff was lovely and a couple people at the desk speak English well. The rooms are air-conditioned which was necessary during our 100-degree week, and are clean and simple with a mini-fridge and TV. Mattresses not so great. The hotel is several miles from town, so without a car we relied on the bus to get us back and forth and a driver for airport runs.

Even our taxi driver from the airport didn't know where this place was, and when we finally drove up to the location of Trevi Village we were slightly apprehensive. Once inside though the complex is wonderful, set along its own private beach with the beautiful warm sea metres away. The rooms are large, set out as bungalows with a little front garden each with table, chairs and a handy clothsline. Once around the lovely outdoor pool & bar area we soon realized that we were the only english people there. In fact the only people that really holiday here are all Italian. And then we meet the 'entertainment' team with the introduction of loud, pumping euro pop at 10am in the morning. And it didnt stop there, they played music on the beach, after dinner on the patio area next to the bar, it was a nightmare. It thoroughly ruined our holiday. We ended up going out most of the day and only coming back in the evening. One morning as we were getting ready to go out we saw the father of a young italian family unplug the sound system much to the disgust of the 'team' which resulted in a very heated argument, but when we returned that evening we were music free, just for the 1 night.

This was our first trip to Italy, and after the hustle and bustle of Naples and the Sorrento, our stay at Trevi Village was a breath of fresh air. Speaking no Italian, our worries about communication were instantly put at ease, with a staff that went out of their way to make sure our needs were met.
The restaurant was wonderful in every way, with outstanding food, lovely decor, and stunning views at sunset. The Village grounds were very well kept, as were the buildings, pool, and shaded bar area.
While I don't know when our next trip to Italy will be, it will include time in the Amantea area again, and we have no need to look any further for accommodations, Trevi Village is where well be staying.

We had a sea view as requested, room Capri 206. Receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful.
Obviously it was out of season so not many visitors, but even so we could hear the comings and goings of the room behind us almost able to make out what they were saying. I imagine this would be horrendous in high season when there must be hundreds of children.and all rooms full.

The staff at Trevi were amazing! The room was clean and spacious! The restaurant (Le Mandrelle) was fantastic! We tried a new dish every day! Subperb!

The only problem was the price of the shuttle from the train station. 20,00EURO each way!

This was one of the nicest places we stayed on our cycle through the south of Italy - the staff were really friendly, the food and wine were good and we were looking right onto the beach - it was great!
