“5 star in friendliness but 4 for quality”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Excellent location, in Ainkawa, very close to airport. near the main roads that take you everywhere in Erbil. The staff and reception are very friendly but certain constraints by the owners limit their flexibility.
Very spacious floors (perhaps due to wrong design but good for all).
Also spacious lobby with good internet in lobby and rooms. Spacious rooms with reasonable amenities.
Breakfast has the variety with good service.Restaurant (and room service) is run for the hotel by a different mentality management with open mindedness and flexibility.

Confirm your reservation period as the may not let you stay longer. Insure room is the single room (although it has 2 beds) and do not accept the suite as it is expensive for no real difference.
In general it has all the requirements of a 5 star hotel in theory but in practice it is between 3-4 stars however the service is certainly 5 stars.
Have been there several times and will ago again as the general atmosphere is very friendly.

Room Tip: -avoid first and second floor and the top floor as you may have lots of noise.

I came to this hotel after leaving the terrible so called 4star hotel wlat in erbil....had no problem with room tempersture and hot water here...rooms are clean and spacious....wifi is good...breakfast classic nothing special.. Gym realy simple.....it feels like they have put everything in order to look like 5 star hotel but they have forgotten the soul.....sky bar at 7th floor is nothing but a restaurant (expensive one)with music being played....... BUT congatulation to our kurdish nephew in kurdistan they are in the path of development and advancement in high speed after years of war and suppression

We chose to stay at Noble Hotel based on the location (close to Ainkawa and fairly close to the city centre/Citadel), the rate and the overall OK reviews we rea on Tripadvisor and elsewhere. I must admit that I was quite pleasantly surprised as it was even better than I had pictured it prior to arriving. The room we stayed in was spacious and very clean, there was an (over)abundance of amenities (excellent free wi-fi by the way) and the food at the hotel's restaurant was very good (in some cases, depending on the chef on duty, I would even say excellent). The staff was friendly and helpful, even in the cases where they barely spoke English, somehow we managed to get the message through. The only fault I found was the fact that, even though we were staying in a non-smoking room, every evening an unbearable amount of smoke seemed to waft into our bathroom, turning it into some sort of gas chamber for a few hours. Luckily, by closing the door, we were able to contain the smoke in the bathroom, but I can see how in the long run this can be a problem for many a non-smoker staying there.

Big rooms. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast (included). Friendly staff. What more can you asks for in Iraq?

It's five minutes from the airport. It's only a few miles from downtown Erbil, the citadel and the bazaar, but with traffic it can take 45 minutes.

Looking at the Hotel building You'll see 5 stars, but this is definitely misleading.

Rooms are just OK, there is small swimming pool and Turkish bath available.

Breakfast is the weakest point of this Hotel.

Rooms are OK- kind of 1980s airport hotel style but functional and clean.

I prefer the Noble's location above the Rotana. It's possible to walk into Einkawa and grab a beer in the evening plus it's nearer the citadel.

The top floor bar is busy and offers some local colour and flavour which I also prefer to the corporate sterility of the Rotana.

Great hammam on level 4 that would shame many destination hotels in Europe.

Overall, good value, staff are generally locals so more interesting to a tourist than the Rotana where they are mostly vacuum packed and shipped in from countries with a more established "service culture". The Noble feels more like the real deal and it's more rewarding as a consequence.

The prices are OK - I paid circa 110 us after some friendly haggling at reception.

A great choice for a second/ subsequent visit to KAR Iraq when I'd had a chance to orientate and get a feel for the country.

Many colleagues talked about this hotel as the place to be in Erbil, But in my case, I still prefer Erbil International for number of reasons. The only positive thing I found about Noble hotel is Sky bar on the roof top. Service OK, swimming pool and Turkish sauna small, gym is basic, breakfast classic. Rooms are big, pretty much clean, but if you are close to the restaurant on the 1st floor where live music plays daily, you will not have your night sleep. Security - as hotel is on one of main streets, no proper security (for Kurdistan or Iraq) in place. Overall, I've been there, but I don't think I will come back.

Room Tip: With live music every night on the 1st floor, try to get room as higher as possible.
