The hotel has both plus and minus points. It is big and, superfically, smart but there are some weaknesses below the surface. The bedrooms are fine, though mine was very hot and it was not possibl to control the heat; staff told me it was centrally controlled and the heat had been switched on for winter. So I opened the window and just about survived. The bed was comfortable, the shower good, and there is good free wifi.

There is anice looking swimming pool which clsoes on the 1 Nov, and an OK indoor one which is a bit dingy and far too warm. The gym looks well -equipped though I didn't try it. I felt the breakfast buffet was just about adequate but really not that good - almost no fresh sfruit, for example, but there is a bar which serves reasonably priced canned beer. The secruity is pretty good, I think. And the locations is good - just a few minutes walk from the Citadel and the brilliant bazaar which is a must to visit.

So, overall, OK but not gripping. I wasn't paying but I'm not sure I would have wanted to.

I liked most about the hotel is the extensive green spaces ,water bodies and waterfall, as well as its strategic location near the ancient Erbil Citadel and its proximity to the city's most important parks in addition to its proximity to the Traditional markets where not to exceed it only a few minutes to get to the city center

And I do not forget the delicious food ,comfort ,service, safety , business center, banking, spa, and other miscellaneous services

The hotel is clean and comfortable with good sized rooms. It is good for its price (it is only natural that hotels that cost 50-60$ more per night will also be more luxurious). It has a business centre and the wi fi is available both in the lobby and the rooms. The breakfast and lunch buffets are alright. I particularly liked the good and tasty variety of salads in the lunch buffet. The citadel is within walking distance (20 min on foot).

First, the good things. The bedrooms are large, they're comfortable, they're clean, the a/c works, the hot water really is hot and the showers are nice and powerful. That's actually quite a lot for Iraq.

However, the staff aren't trained (they're not rude, as some people seem to think; they just haven't been trained in what to do); the buffet food is average at best and breakfast doesn't really reach even that level; the grill outside is a bit better but largely because it's nice to sit there at night when temperatures have fallen a bit. So, no real problem--but I'll be back in Erbil in November and this time I'll stay at the Rotana.

The hotel is average, rooms are in a good shape, clean, beds are not too comfy, food is bad, service is good in matter of coffee and tea. It needs to be up graded very soon. I had to stay here for two nights as other decent hotels were fully booked, they have a nice fish restaurant in the garden, but you should reserve your fish ahead of time, as they may run out of. The close the restaurant service at 11 PM so u enjoy the nice evening weather without any drink. Will not stay here again unless I really have too, though it is very clean
