Increasible snorkling, beautiful grounds, cool mayan caves, fun activities, relaxing hammicks, great food/drinks and breathetaking views, including a gorgeous sunset. This place was an amazing way to spend the day, with tons of varity whether you wanted to explore or relax. Plus, once you have paid for this excursion you have paid for EVERYTHING, including food, drinks, locker, towel, snorkling gear, etc.

“Loved this place!”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

Xel-ha is a large, beautiful, and fun park. Been twice, going back in May.
There is so much to do. We started off by going through the lazy river, which is really cool, the mangroves are really neat. You will see lots of little colorful crabs. There is a spot where you can jump off of a cliff and do a short little zipline. It is really fun!
Then we snorkeled in the lagoon. I saw one of the biggest fish i've ever seen! As well as tons of smaller beautiful Caribean fish. Rays as well. I forgot what it is called, but you wear a helmet under water and they feed sting rays so you snorkel with them. That was awesome! Definitely do it.
The buffet was good, loved the frozen orange/strawberry drinks.
The overall experience was awesome, if you are considering going. GO! But remember it's an all day thing.

“A great place for snorkelling”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

At Xel-ha you can snorkel in a large coastal inlet. Ideal for a novice like me, but water is deep, so maybe not good for young children, although everyone has to wear a life jacket. Upon arrival at the park find a locker area, pick up masks, flippers, snorkels and towels (deposited needed). Changing areas very public, cctv's watching locker area. We arrived wearing our swim suits under our cloths. At end of day got dressed in shower area (some showers had seats in cubicles). They have prescription goggles available if you ask for them.

All food and drink is free, breakfast was served until 11:30am. There was a wide selection of Mexican and American food available, plus ice cream in one of the restaurant.

There is a river which flows into the inlet, you have a choice of swimming it or using a large rubber ring (single or double). It is a long way and there is very little current. We started on a double ring, but my husband ended up towing me, and he was not the only one doing it. We later abandoned it and both swam. The start of the river flows through a mangrove swamp, worth using the ring for this bit, then swimming.
At the start of the river you can put your belonging in a bag, which they lock (they give you the key) and then they take the bag to the end of the river..... But it is not clear where the bag collection poin it (look for the checkered flag, near the restaurants).

Best fish can found where the nemo kite/flags are flying. You can see the rays by swimming next to the ray encounter area.

“Fun Full Day Tour!”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

This is an all day tour, 730-530. You are taken to Xel-Ha Park. This park reminds me of Disney without the amusements (it's a big lay out). It has places to swim, hammock areas, lazy river, dolphin experience (extra cost), zip line, sea trek underwater experience (extra cost) walking areas and more. It includes lunch (you can choose from many places to eat), it includes cocktails at the open air bar. This was a very enjoyable day and had something for everyone.
