My husband and I went to Xel Ha for the day as part of a First Choice excursion and we had a great day. The great thing about the park is that there is so much to do that you can get exactly what you want from it. If you want a fun packed day with the family there is plenty to do (cliff jumps, zip lines, snorkelling, rope swings, all sorts!) but the park is so big that you can easily just chill out for the day. We went for the chilled out option. We got there when the park opened which I would highly recommend you do. It means you can explore the whole place completely alone and can get some amazing photos. It was really peaceful and we were able to walk around the whole park at our own pace. It was a nice romantic start to the day. By the time we had walked round the whole park we got back just as the restaurants opened for breakfast so it was great timing. I would personally recommend that you don't have breakfast at 9:30 though, it was so hectic. I would recommend waiting a bit if you can. After breakfast we went to float down the lazy river in a rubber ring. Don't worry about leaving everything in your locker, you can lock it in a safe bag (you keep the key) and they send it to the end so it's waiting for you when you get out of the water. After that we spend most of the day snorkelling which was fantastic. So many beautiful fish! We had lunch at the fast food place which was ok (what you would expect from fast food). We spent the rest of the day relaxing. We found a really quiet spot hidden behind the hut by the bridge, that was beautiful and peaceful. One tip that I can give is to use the changing rooms by the dolphins and hammocks, the main ones are really busy but these ones were tucked away so were completely empty. They had 3 showers just like the main ones though - much better. Overall it was a great day out, we didn't do half of the things there but we kept ourselves busy from 8am - 5.30pm. You can do as much or little as you want.

This area is so amazing and real. The fresh water and the Caribbean Sea mix at this point and the fish you are able to see when snorkelling is fantastic. The best part is you don't have to be an expert in the water . If you have never snorkelled before or have a fear of the open ocean, this is perfect for you. The underwater world and the variety of fish is so worth the price.. I have mixed feelings about the dolphin exhibit because of the use of the animals for money bothers me and they are more contained than the open water fish. I don't know if this isa how it is suppose to be. They seem sad to me. The food and the rest of the day was beyond beautiful and the was some serious laughing as well. . The food and alcohol is included in the price of admission .YEAH.

So much to see and do here. Snorkling, swimming, rafting, nature trails, etc. Plan on an entire day. Young & old will enjoy it. All inclusive program makes it a great way to spend the day without the overpriced food beverages you usually have to deal with. Food was actually very good -- wasn't expecting so much variety on what I would consider a low cost tour.

This is a wonderful place. The staff members were great. Plenty to do for adults and children alike. Pictures do not do this place justice we could have stayed easily another day and still not got bored. Snorkeling ziplines cliffs to jump off of grottos to explore cenotes and all kinds of other activites that were reasonably priced. Plenty to eat for breakfest and lunch if you leave hungry no one to blame but yourself. Biggest problem stopping to take the time to eat. Can't wait to go back.
