I recently stayed at McGrorys with some friends and a total of 5 children. I have stayed at this hotel several times - both on business and pleasure but this time due to our party size we decided to rent their cottage which is directly opposite the hotel. What a find! The Cottage accommodation 8 of us comfortably, was spotless and cosy with two seperate lounge areas and a more than ample kitchen. Saying that, we choose to eat in the hotel and as always the food was amazing. Better than that was the welcome and the real Irish atmosphere. We enjoyed traditional music on one evening and the bar was buzzing and the craic with locals and visitors was great. I travel for a living and i would highly recommend this hotel for the perfect, quiet getaway. Don't come to this area if you are looking for nightlife but come if you are looking for peace and quiet, long walks on the beach around the corner, good food and great music.

stayed here on many occasions and recently had a weekend with dinner on one evening,
as usual the music was excellent and so was the food, staff are friendly and the location near Culdaff beach, Ballyliffin, Malin head and Lenan strand is perfect for a quiet getaway.
I have recommended this place to others without hesitation although I think the rooms are a bit tired now and it is not cheap, however the music and food will bring me back

McGrory’s is a lovely lively pub-come-hotel in the pretty, sunny village of Culdaff in the beautiful, wild and remote peninsula of Inishowen. The rooms are clean and functional modern hotel-style rooms and fine for a night’s stay to enjoy the incredible live music sessions in the pub down below. The food is good quality and the breakfast room/come dining room modern and stylish. We ate our evening meal in the bar though, preferring the comings and goings and bustle. Sadly our bed was hard and I wasn’t impressed by the plastic-coated mattress protector, which made for a sticky, uncomfortable night and a crinkly noise every time you turned over in bed! However, as the staff were friendly and welcoming, we didn’t want to spoil our happy stay by complaining about this in the morning, as we were only there for one night. (If we return, which I hope we will some day, I would ask not to have this type of mattress cover when we booked). We loved Inishowen and made it right up to Malin Head, as well as spending an idyllic time on the beautiful Doagh Isle. Culdaff itself is a lovely place though and we wished we’d had longer in this area. The village of Malin looked very pretty too as we drove through and the beach at Culdaff Bay was amazing, with sandhills and rock pools and oh so clean sea and sand.

Spent a few days in McGrorys with my colleagues, (managed to fit in a bit of golf at Ballyliffen) The new menu offered great food at sensible prices. Cosied up to the fire with a pint of guinness and traditional music, what more could we want. I look forward to going back in the new year! Highly recommended for a short break away even if it was for business!!

We have just returned from a short midweek break in Mc Grorys. It was a great locaion, with a lovely beach just a few minutes away. The room was huge and cleaned every day and the staff were friendly and helpful. Only two small dissapointments - my partner was hoping for soda bread along with his full Irish breakfast and whilst the food was of good quality we found the bar menu a bit limited. What about traditional battered fresh fish and chips or even Irish stew. I found myself ordering Moroccan chicken, with a very dry tasteless couscous as am not into burgers and there wasnt as much choice as I would have liked.Dont know what I would have had if we had stayed a third night! Apart from this minor annoyance we had a great time and would definately return, preferably to a few extra choices on the menu!

Stayed for one night on the package including entertainment in the Front Bar. Comfortable room, very friendly staff, good menu selection and excellent service. The Friday night music was entertaining and was still going strong when we went to bed just after 1am. A great experience.

We didn't stay in the hotel but enjoyed several evenings of meals and quality traditional music here. Okay it wasn't cheap - Ireland 2009 is not cheap and the country is getting bankrupt - but the food, atmosphere and welcome was worth every euro. They do locally caught fish - not many places where you can still get wild salmon, even the famous Kealys Bar in Greencastle only served us farmed salmon (shame), and the general quality of cuisine (modern European/ Irish) is excellent good value.
