“Many Happy Returns”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2014

It is no coincidence that this yet another review for Elaine & David at Inishfree. Consistency is not the word they are always uping the bar. Whilst we were there they thought nothing of running their guests to the local wedding or providing a breakfast on speck that was not ordered.
They have now got their own produce from the hens and the vegetable garden along with all the local sourced food.
The breakfast is larger than I can deal with - my father would upset that I left the food I did.
Talking of thinking of everything there are even umbrellas in the room to take out with you. Then there are dressing gowns, slippers, towels, hair dryer, iron and board, shoe rack, local information,tv and remote, tea and coffee facilities to name but a few! A small price to pay for such luxury, care and service. Try Elaine's cooking - a feast fit for a king. Then there are the locals - always welcoming and saying hello, pubs and blue flag beaches.
We have returned and will continue to do so to this beautiful part of the Emerald Isles.

We came back to the area for my work and were delighted to stay at the Inishfree B&B again. (I was here in March.)

The weather was amazing on our first day and we made it down to one of the many spectacular beaches tucked away in the Irish coastline. Just ask the hosts if you want to find some beaches or spots that are more off the beaten path. They know all of the little spots to explore in Co Donegal, just ask. It was another lovely trip. We wish we could've stayed longer.

Having business in Donegal I was recommended by friends to stay here. Have to say it was gorgeous and the breakfast was the best I've ever had! Lots of lovely touches. Even a lovely scone with clotted cream and jam to go with coffee when I got back from work. I'd give this "cead mile failte" house 110%!

It was lovely to meet you Helen and we are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. The chair that you liked so much in the Orchid room now has a beautiful cover to match the rest of the furnishings. I am sure you would approve. Hope to see you again when you are next in Donegal on business/pleasure. By the way your friends are staying this weekend after hearing so much about Inishfree from you. Thank you so much.

We were a bit disappointed with Culdaff as we arrived in the rain, there was no live music in the pub and it was far too wet to go exploring. However, the hosts at the Inishfree made up for it. A lovely B&B - we had a kind of suite which was the top floor of the house where we could enjoy very late sunsets from the dormer windows. Nothing too much trouble, clean and a lovely breakfast. Shame about the rain!

Room Tip: Ask for the top room - although we didn't see the others

Thanks for your review, it was good to meet you, just a shame about the weather, but that's why Ireland is so green. You will just have to come back when the sun shines! Hope the leg is better.

This is an excellent B&B with a real homely feel. The couple who run it cannot do enough for you in order to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The accommodation is spacious and well maintained with nice little extras provided such as tea making facilities with mini chocolate treats. The breakfast was one if the best I have had in a B&B with good quality local produce. I will certainly stay here again should the opportunity arise. Thanks again Elaine and Dave for your hospitality during my short stay.

Thank you for the lovely comments, especially in view of the fact that this gentleman stayed with us to enable him to attend a local funeral. We are so glad that he enjoyed his stay and hope to see him again if he is ever in Culdaff.

The Inish Free B&B was a beautiful and peaceful stop during my trip to Ireland! The B&B is very picturesque, with lovely furnishings and a very comfortable, peaceful ambiance. The breakfasts were a real treat, delicious and beautifully prepared! The hosts provided first-class hospitality as well. I will definitely be making a trip back and hope to spend a bit more time by the gorgeous local beaches! Great choice year-round."

It was really good to spend some time with this young lady from the US. She was a professional photographer and gave us some very good tips. We went with her to Kinnego Bay one night at about 10 p.m. so that she could get some moonlight shots. Needless to say, they were fabulous.
So looking forward to her next visit.

Arrived at this B&B having had it recommended to us nah some friends. They had raved about it and so we arrived with high expectations. We were not disappointed. Our hosts Elaine and Dave made us welcome from the moment we walked through the door. It was a blustery day at the end of January but as soon as we're were shown to our rooms the fire was lit and a pot of tea was ready! The rooms were beautiful. Comfortable and stylish, they felt like a home away from home. Ours was an en suite and our friends had the other downstairs room which had a huge bathroom just across from their room. The quality of the bed linen, towels and toiletries was exceptional. Fluffy bath robes and slippers, hair dryer - just everything you could want or need.

We had a fabulous breakfast on all three mornings - cooked to perfection with the offer of a packed lunch had we wanted it.

The scenery, the beaches, the pubs - where do we start!! Culdaff beach is only minutes away (photos on this review) and is as stunning as any you will ever see in Europe or the Med, and remember we were there in late jan/early Feb. in the warmer months they must be amazing and we intend to find out. All the local pubs made us more than welcome and it is true - the Guinness really DOES taste better in Ireland. We were in the Orchard Bar just five mins away from the B&B and there was a 40th birthday party in progress which was fab - lots of loud and live music. Wonderful.

If you are looking for a true taste of Ireland, a breathtakingly beautiful location and a couple who will welcome you with open arms and hearts, then please book at this B&B. You will love every minute and your first visit will not be your last.

Room Tip: All rooms are superb. Choose upstairs twin if you need or fancy self contained accommodation
