Description: Small restaurant located on the east coast of Lake Garda ( Torri del Benaco). Le Gemme di Artemisia offers cooking class in the morning and restaurant at the evening time with only 3 tables , therefore it is highly recommended to book it in advance. We have only tasting menus ( see on our web site). Since 2017 we have an accommodation located on the top floor of the restaurant with a stunning view to lake Garda.

Our half-day cooking class at this beautiful place perched on a steep hillside above the town of Torri on Lake Garda was a highpoint of our trip. Andrea and Laura are enraging, hospitable and their place is drop-dead gorgeous. We had fun with the cooking, the banter and, most especially, the eating. We'd go back again.

Whilst visiting Torri in July this year we had a taster meal at Le Gemme and it was fantastic.
Lovely fresh produce and the perfect setting.
I'm not sure we will experience another restaurant quite like it and are heading back to Le Gemme next year as the venue for our wedding reception....can't wait!

We cannot adequately describe our visit to Le Gemme di Artemisia for a cooking class! We were greeted with breakfast and coffee overlooking Lake Garda. While we relaxed, Lara and Andrea prepped everything. The cooking class itself was excellent - Andrea taught us a great deal about Italian cooking (including what ingredients to look for in the US, special techniques and which stuffings go in which ravioli.) Lara was excellent, providing us with refreshing tea to sip during class and even pulling out the special spaghetti horse when my husband inquired about how spaghetti was made. We were then excused to the patio to enjoy wine and the view, while Andrea put the finishing touches on our amazing meal. The cost of the class was quite reasonable; I doubt that you could buy a meal of that magnitude (including breakfast, a great bottle of wine, sparkling water) for the cost of the class. We had 4 pasta courses, chicken, and dessert. It was without a doubt the best meal of our trip and one of our most memorable experiences.

We attended the cookery school for our 10th wedding anniversary at the end of June 2012.The restaurant is situated about a 10 minute drive above Torri with the most fantastic views over Lake Garda.

Lara and Andea couldn't have been more welcoming. We had a light breakfast with a cappuccino at around 9.00 when we arrived and the whole day was very relaxed.

We then spent a good 3 hours in the kitchen with Andrea and had previously asked if we could learn about the various preparations of pasta.

It was fantastic to see an expert at work. Not only did we learn a lot about the basics, we also picked up lots of tips and he was more than willing to share his trade secrets with us.

As is often the case with cookery schools, you end up eating what you have learned to prepare, but it was supplemented with a delightful local wine and some additional treats.

We would highly recommend the cookery school experience, not least because they host a maximum of 6 people. Luckily, there was only the two of us, so it was very personalise and bespoke.

It sounds like a cliche, but we did feel to have left some friends behind and hope we stay in touch with them.

We were well and truly into the depths of planning our wedding when we had some terrible news. The restaurant that we'd booked for our wedding breakfast cancelled our booking. It turned out they had a better offer from a wedding with more people who also wanted their rooms to stay. Thoroughly upset, bewildered and angry and after several attempts to make the owner realise that this was not good customer service we realised we were going to have to choose somewhere else. We did not have the time or money for another visit out to Lake Garda to review our options so we entrusted ourselves (and our wedding guests) into the hands of our fabulous wedding organiser and booked Le Gemme d'Artemisia on her recommendation.

Well, they say bad things happen for a reason and this was no exception. We could not have been more pleased with this restaurant. The scenery is stunning, the food absolutely amazing, and both Lara & Andrea were total professionals. They could not have been more helpful and are really lovely with it. The restaurant was spotless and their attention to detail is incredible. This really was the icing on the cake for our dream day.
