We have stayed here 4 times now the units are well equiped, the pools are great and the price is right. Good family holiday. We spent most of the time at theme parks then came back to a bbq and swim in the pool of a night.
you need a car when staying here.

Like the previous review, I was very apprehensive about my booking after reading this review site! Luckily we were pleasantly surprised. We have just had a 10 night stay in a 2 bedroom apartment. We were on the top floor and overlooked the quieter pool. Fabulous setting. Our apartment was well appointed, comfortable and newish beds. It couild have been cleaner but this didn't cause me any major stress. The kids loved the pools, and enjoyed the games room, which is a little scruffy but fine to use. The location to the beach was fantastic and far better than some of the other bigger resorts which are right on the highway and also walking distance to a big supermarket and post shop. I found the employees helpful amd courteous. Securitiy was not an issue, we felt very safe. We also had friends from the Uk staying at the same resort and they also had a great stay at this resort.

After having paid for our accommodation in full, I then found this site and read the reviews for Grande Florida. With hubby, two daughters (13 & 5) and myself to cater for, we were really concerned about the reports of horrible dated rooms so I rang to ask if we could secure one of the newly renovated apartments. We were told that there were no guarantees that requests could be fulfilled, so to avoid disappointment we resigned ourselves to expect a very ordinary apartment in a second rate resort. Upon arrival and with butterflies in my tummy, I swung the door open to find myself in an absolutely delightful apartment and we could not have been happier. It was spacious, comfortable and homey; complete with ensuite, Air Con, ceiling fans, dishwasher, washer & dryer and Foxtel. What more could you ask for? We took one look outside our balcony at one of the two sensational lagoon pools (“ours” wasn’t the heated pool, but it was perfect for us Melbournians as it was no where near cold - more like luke warm - where the other was like a warm bath) and felt that we were in paradise! Over the next 7 nights, when we weren’t out and about doing the theme park thing, we were all more than happy to float around the pool for hours on end and enjoy the gorgeous surrounds.
I don’t know if we were lucky in regards to the reports of theft and staff rudeness, but we did not have any issues in these areas. We made sure that our rooms were securely looked every time we left the apartment and always locked our valuables away in the safe provided in all rooms, and we didn’t have any problems at all.
As for the rooms being dated, once we saw our room we were sure we had received one of the renovated ones after all. It wasn’t until our last day when we went into one of the other rooms to say goodbye to some new-found friends that we realised that we had actually been in one of the un-renovated rooms! The friend’s rooms was much more modern with updated appliances and furnishings - yet we still thought our room was lovely and weren’t at all disappointed with it. Obviously some people have much higher expectations than others! If you’re one of them, go and spend twice what we paid and stay somewhere else!
If I had any criticisms, I would say that the rooms could be little cleaner. I am somewhat fussy in this regard, and while it was no where near dirty, I could see some areas that needed some more attention during cleaning. This includes the stairwells which are definitely in need of some TLC.
All in all, we could not have been happier. This is a wonderful place to stay (especially for families), and we are already planning next year’s holiday at the Grande Florida!

Very disappointed with our stay here. Having owned and run holiday accommodation, I would seriously question the 4 star rating as shown in the brochure.

We lasted 2 days out of 5 days which we paid for up front.
We are also not happy with world tourism who highly recommended this resort.

The room and stair well were unclean and smelled of cigarette and stale alcohol.
The noise from the pool area went on way past set curfew times to well after 11pm.
Children were swearing and throwing balls at our windows and scaring my young kids who were trying to get to sleep.
The beds were extremely uncomfortable (single mattresses were shaped like bananas)
Double bed felt like concrete.
One shower was very moldy and the second shower was squirting hot water from the handle while my kids were trying to shower.

We were offered 2 alternative rooms when we complained the next morning to which they gave us master keys to complex without a staff member to accompany us (no wonder people's belongings have been stolen from this facility in the past) .
One room was still occupied and the second room was being cleaned.

We did not swap to another room as the bed standard was the same and we witnessed the cleaner cleaning the floor with a towel on her foot and then picked up the same towel and cleaned down the kitchen sink and bench top.
At this point we moved to cleaner accommodation with polite and responsive staff.

As with most of the reviews - It's not 5 Star BUT if you're a family on a budget then this place is great (search the internet for special deals for this place).
We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment and friends had another. The main thing was we couldn't get the rooms in the same area. So it was annoying to go between sections to see friends organise things.
Do your shopping down the road for supplies and you won't have any problems.
Pools are great. As for nothing to do (other reviews), we were too busy to use any other facilities other than the pool and BBQs.
Rooms were a bit old but at the price who cares. Room had Foxtel so that kept the kids entertained.
About 30-40 mins from theme parks.
Secure parking.
Staff were very helpful.

okay, this place is nice....not perfect but nice! If you are expecting an international 'All Seasons' standard you may be disappointed.
Its an apartment resort so dont expect daily service, thats not standard here. You can however pay for it if you want it that bad, or else stay somewhere else!
Rooms are a little dated, but well provisioned.Yes you will to restock basic provisions yourself. These are easily accessible at handy but overpriced reception or about 500m South at Coles grocery store/supermarket.
The grounds are really lovely, tropical and calming and there are two nice pools and BBQ areas. One pool was heated, but only just enough to swim in.
Beds were OK. Bedrooms are not airconditioned but living room is. This may be an issue in summer.
I found the staff nice, not rude at all.
Balcony doors had extra locks and doorways had special locks. There is a room safe provided for small valuables. We were not broken into.
Quiet end of Miami probably would not suit anyone looking for some nightlife or who wants to be in the thick of things, but for a family on a relaxing quiet holiday with easy access to the beach we liked it., A car would be recommended.
On Saturday a seafood supplier came and we bought great fresh tasty local prawns for a great price. She blows a whistle and sings out "fresh prawns". Dont hesitate.
All in all a good stay. Excellent value for money.
Recommended.
