“Never been disappointed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2013

Spent my earlier years in foodie cities like Singapore and Penang... so, I was delighted to discover a little café here that serves authentic Malaysian/Chinese. Been here a handful of times with family and have tried almost half of the menu. Never been disappointed. The jellyfish noodles are not featured on many menus, so I was so glad to find it here - yum! Anyone who gives a poor rating to this restaurant/café doesn't understand Malaysian cuisine.

“We keep going back”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013 via mobile

One of the better Malaysian restaurants on the Gold Coast. I live the Fried Keow Teow, and my partner either has the Beef Black Bean Sauce, or the Combination HoFun. Im also a fan of the Kung Po Chicken which is nice & spicy. other dishes can be made spicy if you ask. The only thing that disappointed me, a fresh Roti Chanai fan, was that the roti was probably just the frozen ones you buy in the Chinese grocery stores. I'm still trying to find somewhere that serves them like we got them in Singapore & Malaysia. But we will continue to frequent this restaurant. Well worth the small price tag.

“An authentic taste of malaysian street food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 18, 2012

As anyone who has travelled or lived in Singapore or Malaysia will know, hawker or street food is integral to the way of life. This is one of two places here on the Gold Coast that is pretty close to the authentic hawker style food that you get over there. The Prawn Mee soup, Fried Kway Teow and Chicken rice, are the highlights. These are dishes that you don't get at any old chinese restaurant.
We brought malaysian visitors for lunch today and they were very surprised with the quality, and the size of the servings. They had just visited Sydney and said this was better than what they had down there! So that is saying something. They ordered extra food as takeaway so that they would have something for dinner in Lismore as they make their way down the Pacific Highway.
Each time we've been to Fast Wok its always been busy, the food comes quickly, and we have never been disappointed. Another obvious sign that it is an authentic place to eat is the number of singaporeans and malaysians you see having meals.
As it is mostly outdoor sitting, it can get a bit noisy due to cars going past in the car park, and also at the moment, the cold winds can make it a bit uncomfortable. So ask them to put the blinds down if you can.
We travel from the northern end of the Gold Coast for our regular hit of hawker food. Something we haven't been able to do for the last 20 years! Thank goodness we don't have to go to Sunnybank anymore.

“One of the most delicious Malaysian Chinese foods”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2012

We are one of the ardent fans of this resturant of genuine Ipoh style Malaysina Chinese foods,
Always crowded and the quality and quantity of each dish is very good..

I have been a few times to Ipoh, one of the most famous gourment cities in Malaysia and it is
comparable to the best over there. Owneer ,chef and the poeple working there are mostly
from Ipoh.originally. Laksa, Ipoh Fried Key Toew, Hainan Chicken Rice are really good.
