Owner description: Voted one of the Gold Coast's most popular tourist destinations, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is the crown jewel of the National Trust of Australia (Queensland) [NTAQ] properties. As one of Queensland's earliest nature-based tourist destinations, the Sanctuary is a physical embodiment of everything the NTAQ represents: dedication to conserving our nation's Indigenous, natural and historic heritage and culture. With Blinky Bill now present for daily shows, the amazing viewing experiences available at the Wildlife Hospital and hundreds of native Australian animals on display in natural bushland and rainforest settings, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is the ultimate holiday adventure for the entire family.

Fun place to visit, got photos with the wildlife, saw informative shows and the proceeds go to the wildlife hospital. Well worth visiting.

“A great day out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2014

Loved coming back here - and esp the kids. Great value for money as had taken advantage of the groupon deal. Was quite hard going at times as the day was hot but cooled off in the shade and on the train ride around.

“Great place to visit”

Great place to spend the day. Well worth the money. Will be enjoyed by adults and children alike.
If you can make sure you take in the shows, magic, birds and sheep sharing... We have seen many sheep sharing shows and this was one of the better ones, very funny and not only educational but also entertaining in the process.

“Relaxed low key day out for animal lovers”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2014

Myself & husband visited as we had a half price coupon, otherwise a bit expensive at around $70 each from memory. Parking is across the road in an area laid out for the sanctuary. The park is nicely laid out although obviously you can't expect much undercover area, I'd avoid on a really hot or humid day. Seems to be great appeal for families with kids who were exclaiming at, running toward or running away from all the animals. There was a train chuffing around [is that a word?] if you were tired of walking but my hubby felt unmanly needing to consider this, especially as it looked barely larger than thomas the tank engine/model sized. The animals were great, from snakes to crocodiles to a wild bird show to of course kangaroos & koalas. Pretty duck pond too with some exotic can't remember the name bird that stalks toward you on skinny legs like a supermodel. Feeding the kangaroos was nice although by the time we wandered around mid afternoon some of them seemed to have already been stuffed half forcibly by kids & adults alike & not too interested [you need to pay small amounts for bags of pellets]. Lunch options seemed pretty weak with average food & drinks at high prices, maybe forgivable as a lot of the money is being ploughed back into the sanctuary's work. We were a little past it all by later afternoon but were very glad we waited until [from memory] 4:30 pm for the rainbow parakeets. A little square/park near the main entrance has been set up to hold plates of nectar juice on wheels which they absolutely Love & staff handed out plates & nectar for free for visitors to feed the birds, who flocked all over us. From memory this is technically outside the entrance to the park so you do not need to have paid admission to experience it but are asked to provide a gold coin donation. They were on my arms, on my head, etc greedily sucking down the good stuff & it was a really impressive sight & nice experience.
