Owner description: Voted one of the Gold Coast's most popular tourist destinations, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is the crown jewel of the National Trust of Australia (Queensland) [NTAQ] properties. As one of Queensland's earliest nature-based tourist destinations, the Sanctuary is a physical embodiment of everything the NTAQ represents: dedication to conserving our nation's Indigenous, natural and historic heritage and culture. With Blinky Bill now present for daily shows, the amazing viewing experiences available at the Wildlife Hospital and hundreds of native Australian animals on display in natural bushland and rainforest settings, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is the ultimate holiday adventure for the entire family.

It was one the most anticipated things to do on my first trip to the Gold Coast. I really wanted to hold the koalas. I thought they were going to be a little bit more soft and cuddly, but the one I was taking pics with could not let go of my boob, so that was....interesting. I adored the free roaming kangaroos. That was by far the highlight of the sanctuary. They were so chill. You can feed them, pet them and take photos with them and they could care less. There are live demonstrations. We only stayed for the crocodile feeding, which was pretty impressive. The male is MASSIVE! It was a nice stroll through the property and there is a free little train that picks guests up if you get a bit tired. All and all it was a great day!

It's a small place though, but you get to see lots of adorable Koalas . There are some shows . The tram is free. It's better to walk around and enjoy some florals too. we took the ride and a good resting option. You can take photos with Koalas too. I took two!! Oh, you can feed the wallabies too. They are pretty tender. Kids, even adults enjoy feeding them.

“Loved the free roaming kangaroos!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 29, 2013 via mobile

Bought the tickets with groupon. $90 for a family of four with a complimentary crocodile photo. My kids had a blast! My daughter fed kangaroos, emus and held a snake as well as a baby crocodile. We also took a family photo with a koala.

There's a little train that runs around the whole place which was a hit with my kids.

What was just amazing was the kangaroo feeding area. Dozens of kangaroos were just lying on the grounds relaxing. My kids had the most amazing time feeding the kangaroos. My daughter loved it so much that she beg to feed them a second time! ($4 for a cup).

The sheep shearing demonstration was good though some jokes were a little tacky.

There's also a pet hospital where we could peek in on surgeries actually taking place. When we were there, the nurse actually got one of the staff to come out and explained what was going on to us. There's even soft toys to simulate injured animals. Kids can learn to stitch up soft toy snakes.

We really enjoyed our day at currumbin and won't hesitate to recommend this to all our friends who visit Gold Coast.

Just wonderful, the koalas are great, got to play with kangaroos, and watch out for the Tasmanian devils.

“Great Australia's Wildlife experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 28, 2013

Great experience for us to have the chance to see and take photos with koala and kangaroos Reasonable walking distance around the place, or you can take train ride. Kangaroos are very friendly to touch, but koala is only available with paid photograph. It is our first experience to see the tree kangaroo, cute..
