Owner description: Voted one of the Gold Coast's most popular tourist destinations, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is the crown jewel of the National Trust of Australia (Queensland) [NTAQ] properties. As one of Queensland's earliest nature-based tourist destinations, the Sanctuary is a physical embodiment of everything the NTAQ represents: dedication to conserving our nation's Indigenous, natural and historic heritage and culture. With Blinky Bill now present for daily shows, the amazing viewing experiences available at the Wildlife Hospital and hundreds of native Australian animals on display in natural bushland and rainforest settings, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is the ultimate holiday adventure for the entire family.

“Much more than just "Feed the Lorikeets"”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

The sanctuary has evolved to be a major tourist attraction. There are many walks and tours to interest everyone and the feeding of the lorikeets still attracts a crowd. Expect to spend a full day at the sanctuary to see everything.

“A pleasant way to fill in 3 hours before leaving the Gold Coast”
Reviewed October 20, 2012

We had half a day to kill before our 5.00pm flight from Gold Coast Airport, and decided to Visit the Sanctuary having driven past and it flown over it plenty of times.
The Sanctuary is much bigger than it looks and the staff and volunteers were very helpful and pleasant. You can leave your luggage at the entrance which was a bonus. The exhibits are interesting and relevant to the wildlife that used to live on the Gold Coast before it was developed. It is hard to realise that the sanctuary is in the middle of the Gold Coast.
The Park is well set out with a free train to move you around if you do not want to walk on the easy paths.
If you are visiting with children the “Green Challenge” which is included in the entry fee is a great way for them use up a lot of energy, in fact the entry fee is worth it just for the challenge.
There are plenty of shady walks for a hot day.
We spent an enjoyable 3 hours there and were impressed.
We are sure you will enjoy it too

“A good place to see the animals”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

Currumbin Wildlife is a Gold Coast icon. Its getting a bit worn around the edges but it still has the old Gold Coast charm. We couldn't fill in a whole day here but I'd imagine kids or international tourists would have a fun filled day. I was disappointed to see there were so little kangaroos to hand feed compared to last visit. I'm not sure if we went on a quiet day but there was very few people visiting which made seeing the animals a breeze and was very relaxing. The lorriket feeding is a highlight and a must do for any international tourist.

“Amazing wildlife experience”
Reviewed October 12, 2012

It is about 45 min to 1 hour drive from Surfers Paradise. Upon entering the entrane, there is a lorikeet area where hundred of lorikeets being feed, The staff will give you the milk to feed the lorikeet if you request. Be careful of the claws of Lorikeet and I would suggest you wear a long sleeve shirt and wear the hat before feeding lorikeet to avoid any injuiry. You can either walk or takea mini train to tour the park. There is a big lake and an area when the staff are feeding eels. There is even a magic show at 10am that attract parents and kids. If you walk further, you got the chance to see the koalas, tasmanian devils, kangaroos, salt water crocs and other native Australian animals. It is worth to take atour for a family day out. I believe will make the kids a wonderful day full of wildlife epenrience.
