Owner description: Centrally located at Carrara on the beautiful Gold Coast, only a stone's throw from Surfers Paradise and Broadeach - Carrara Markets is the biggest permanent marketplace in Australia with over 400 market stalls. Its a treasure trove of the curious and the unusual & the original home of discount shopping when it comes to fresh produce, fashion, homewares, pots, plants, bric a brac, souvenirs, arts & crafts and just about everything else! For over 30 years Carrara Markets has been a major Gold Coast tourist attraction and a great family day out with pony rides, baby animal farm, face painters & a bungy trampoline. It's home to Luke's Reptile Kingdom, a breathtaking interactive show featuring dozens of Australia's unique and unusual creatures including very rare species and the world's most venomous snakes. It also has its own putt putt mini golf attraction where kids play free with each paying adult.

Spent the morning shopping at Carrara Market. This is the 4th time we have been here and it never ceases to please us. Something for everyone from old to young and an easy way to spend your money. The souveniers are quite cheap hear. From Bags, to perfume to clothing all a bargain. As for electric or phones etc we have had a bad experience with one of the children so be wary. Tutt Tutt gold is now at the Market but this has cut down on the stalls. A good day, allow plenty of time.

These markets are known by all on the Gold Coast. We have visited numerous times over the years for different things but mostly I have to prepare myself for the trip!
In summer the place can get very hot so take sunscreen and a hat if visiting in summer. There a lots of things for kids to do but it all costs (e.g. short pony ride $5, Bungee trampoline $10) and there are a few sideshow type things to tempt kids ($4 a shot). If going with a group of kids have a lot of money ready unless you put down rules prior.
Lots of stalls selling various things but a lot can be purchased on the internet for a lower price (some worthwhile stalls to visit).
Plenty of food options and most of them had reasonable prices.
