My two best mates and I booked a two bedroom apartment for 15 nights during June. We were very happy with the apartment. The main bedroom had an ensuite and walk in robe. The other bedroom had two single beds and a wardrobe. Both bedroom opened onto a veradah and there was also a large patio area out the front with an outdoor setting with beautiful views of the water. The kitchen was great with plenty of room for storage and a full size fridge. They also provide toaster/kettle/dishwasher/garbage disposal. The lounge/dining area was a good size and had a couple of couches and a large flatscreen tv. The best thing though was that it had its own washer/dryer and thoughtfully also two clothes drying stands.

All in all it was great. We were very luckily on the bottom floor with only one lot of stairs to go up. I felt sorry for people on the higher floors as i bet it would be a pain lugging your belongings much further. The secure parking was fantastic and easy to use. The location is also great for the theme parks with none of them very far away. The pool was also lovely and the games room was limited but fun. I did see pictures of a gym on the website but my friends and i never found it - however we never asked.

The staff were great, a light broke in the main bedroom and they came and fixed it happily. The lady at reception was very helpful with lots of advice. I recommed the 360 restaurant just across the road under the grand, great brekky. Also there is a great restaurant called the pickled cactus not far away in biggera waters - spectacular!!

They have great specials if you book direct, we got our apartment for under $1500 for 3 adults for 15 nights

Room Tip: id ask for a room on the bottom floor to combat the stairs!

We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment, apparently they are all on the top floor. The apartment was very nice and modern but my main memory was of the stairs! What a killer there should be a lift, even the kids had enough of these stairs after a couple of days. All over the complex stairs and more stairs. It is on the corner of a main road and while you can access the car park from a back street it is a bit noisy. The staff were pleasant enough, I only delt with them on check in & out. So overall the apartment was good, pool was ok in the shade most of the day, I don't think I'd stay there again unless I become very fit beforehand to deal with all the stairs.

Room Tip: Ask for not in tower 6 it was the furthest away from pool, BBQ area etc and closest to the road.

This is the 3rd time I stay at Sandcastles ,this time we booked 5 apartments( 3 x 3 bedroom apartments and 2x2 bedroom apartments) for 9 nights for a family holiday in end of Jan 2013, and from the first phone call nothing was too much trouble for the ladies in reception. The 3bd apartments are very spacious with full kitchen dishwasher, everything is supplied for cooking. There is a washing machine and drier full size fridge ,bedroom upstairs had a walk in and a spa on balcony, but what always makes my stay is the pool and BBQ area the kids love it ,but the units are a bit more run down than before, and this time my parents came along so they found the stairs a bit hard to handle .Also climbing up the stairs after a full day at the theme parks or bringing shopping was a bit too much .
The ladies in reception were very friendly and helpful nothing was too much. Overall a very nice stay we enjoyed it.

Stayed as part of a group who booked several apartments for a week in November, I found the accommodation to be good value for money, clean and comfortable. The facilities were well presented; although I didn't personally use the pool/spa but they looked inviting. The BBQ area was really excellent, and the staff at Reception were super friendly, helpful and had the ability to be cheeky in a playful way, which was fun. Location was awesome although to be fair if you have an apartment on the road you will get quite a bit of traffic noise, but at least the bedrooms face onto the poolside rather than the road. It was my first time staying at this part of the coast, and there was a great cafe and selection of restaurants 5 mins walk away and a good pub with restaurant too. Loved the fact that it was only a 3 storey complex rather than highrise like many on the Gold Coast. Would I stay here again, definitely.

Room Tip: Maybe ask for an apartment away from the roadside? Ask Reception to show you how to get to the Cafe...

We booked 3 x 2 bedroom apartments for a family holiday and from the first phone call nothing was too much trouble for the ladies in reception.

The apartments were great value and had everything we needed. The location was perfect for going to theme parks and visiting family on the Gold Coast. We loved the playground across the road for the kids as well.

The secure undercover parking is a real bonus and although there are some stairs to climb up, even those among us with testy knees thought it wasn't all that bad.

Only thing we'll change when we come back is getting an apartment with carpet instead of tiles.

We'll definitely be back :)

We have stayed at Sandcastles several times, sometimes with family and others on our own. Happily it is close by a family member whom we go to visit. We have never had any problems, and when with family they find it very central to many of the theme parks. Most of the units have a used (understandably) look about them but they are always clean and presentable. We seldom used them but all facilities,BBQ, Pool etc were great and the secure underground car park is a bonus. I find its location away from the hustle and bustle of Surfers to be a definite plus. Walking distance to a child friendly beach and a variety of restaurants etc. all add to a great experience.

Room Tip: As there is no elevator the lower floors are more attractive if you are not fit.

We booked the hotel for 4 nights and got the one bedroom apartment ground floor right by the pool for myself, wife and 2 year old daughter.
Although right by the pool it was actually quiet with the doors closed.
The unit 104 was a good size and the facilities such as the kitchen were great. Everything is supplied for cooking. There is a washing machine and drier so you dont go home with loads of dirty washing.
There is an outdoor bbq area which is great for cooking the afternoon bbq dinner and socialising with the other holiday goers.
Across the road is an esplanade right by the water and makes for a brilliant morning or evening stroll.
There are childrens parks every 100m until you reach the fish and chip shop and another 5 minute walk you reach some awesome little restaurants like Thai and Italian and a really good cafe (cafe for you) which sells really cheap breakfasts.
There are bus stops at the door which take you to Sea World or all the shopping centres.
The staff at Sandcastles are lovely and very helpful.
The pool is really relaxing and has a nice shallow part for littlies learning to swim and you get quite a bit of sun most of the day.
We will definately be booking again with Sandcastles for our next trip to the Gold Coast.
We highly recommend Sandcastles for anyone with a small or large family looking for a clean, up to date, fully self contained apartment that is close to parks, walk ways, restaurants and lagoon.
Oh yeah, our bed was soooo comfortable :-)
