Lovely unit, warm, comfortable, and great view of marina. Would stay there again if the opportunity arose. The bed was really comfortable, bathroom very clean. We spent 2 nights there, no noise from other units.

Room Tip: I think any where, at hotel you would get a good unit, with a view.

My fiancé and I stayed recently as we wanted to experience the service and facilities our guests will be treated to when we are married there in September. This was our first stay and we couldn't be happier with the service we experienced. Every staff member we uncounted in our 2 night stay were more than helpful - they were happy! Yes the resort itself is looking tired in certain respects but we could clearly see where renovations were underway. The room we had was immaculately clean and everything we could need was provided for - although my one quibble would be the doona was very thin and the bed quite hard, the Shangra-La Cairns use pillow toppers - just a suggestion.

The food we experienced was on the expensive side, but you certainly could not complain you didn't get what you paid for. The buffet breakfast was by far one of the best in terms of quality choices and freshness we've experienced and we travel regularly staying @ 4.5 & 5 star hotels.

The Verandah Bar with the fireplaces lit in winter is heavenly! Get out of your room and go up to the bar and have a glass on wine we thoroughly recommend it!

The only real negative comments I would say were the fact the resort spa is a third party organisation and not open on Sundays (I wanted to use them for hair & makeup for our wedding which is a Sunday and they flatly refused even though it would have been up to 15pax). Quite disappointing, every other place we have ever stayed which had a spa was 7 days a week. Your reservations department also could do with some training. We wanted a suite with a four-poster bed for our wedding night - the person we spoke to in Sydney first didn't even know what one was, and the next person (at the resort) couldn't tell us exactly which suites did!

We are spending close to $30k for our wedding (wedding cost + guest accommodation), we certainly hope that it won't be money wasted as our opinion of the resort is very high. A big shout out to our wedding co-ordinator Dom who is by far the best you have! She has been fantastic to work with and we know our big day will go smoothly with her in control!

Spent two nights at InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort for the purpose of relaxing and rejuvenating and couldn't be happier. Upon request we were given a quiet room overlooking the Golf course and river. The outlook was very peaceful with country views. The room was spacious with walk in robe and white robes to wear. The main foyer is beautifully furnished with comfortable lounge chairs to relax by the four fireplaces. The grounds and pool areas are well maintained and good for walking around. The resort is a short walk around the marina to the shops and restaurants which offer good two for one deals on meals at lunch and dinner. The resort also has delicious meals on offer. The InterContinental Sanctuary Cove is a resort that offers all year round enjoyment. We loved being there in winter to enjoy the fire places and country atmosphere yet in summer the beach type swimming pool would be perfect for those wanting a relaxing holiday away from the hype of the Gold Coast. Looking forward to our return

Room Tip: Rooms overlook the Beach pools, Marina or more private rooms overlook the river and golf estate

Dear RosieG801,

What a delight to read your positive review, thanks so much for taking the time to share your feedback.

I am thrilled that you were able to experience the relaxing weekend you hoped for. I agree that whilst the resort is amazing in summer, sitting by a fire in our Verandah Bar at the moment is just so lovely! Our Terrace Pool and Spa is heated also, so we are able to offer guests the option of swimming all year round!

Thank you for choosing to stay with us and we look forward to welcoming you back soon!

Stayed at the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove for two days and a night on a business retreat in July 2013. Stayed there about the same time last year, except that it was the Hyatt Sanctuary Cove last year.

The rooms, although reflecting their age, were clean, crisp and comfortable. The rooms were standard for ~4 star resorts on the Gold Coast with a comfortable king bed and small balcony facing the bay. The bathroom was clean and had a separate bath and shower, the latter being small and rather cramped.

The coffee/tea making facility, while all there, is not the most convenient to use and as with many hotels, the power sockets are not always strategically located.

Overall the service of the staff was excellent, friendly, courteous and helpful. This extended to the staff who catered to our business meetings and dinner. The Nespresso machine at the meeting was very welcome. The quality of food was excellent and the Chef went over and beyond to accommodate my vegetarianism!

The location of the rooms are rather spread around and a tad confusing, especially when you arrival and more so after a good dose of red for dinner. I would recommend better signage and lighting along the long and winding pathways!!

The location in Sanctuary Cove is great for a business or family retreat. Will certainly recommend a stay.

We have just returned from a week at the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove. As platinum members we were upgraded to a Queenslander Suite overlooking the marina. We also had access to the club lounge for breakfast, afternoon tea and evening canapés and drinks. This option was well worth the extra money.

Positives
The staff at reception, concierge, verandah bar and the club lounge were exceptional.
Plenty of room in the Queenslander suite.
Beautiful gardens and pools including an amazing lagoon pool.
Fantastic facilities including two of the best golf courses that I have played (Palms and Pines)
Great quality food in the Fireplace restaurant and Cove buffet on Saturday night
Very handy to Sanctuary Cove Village with great restaurants, bars, boutiques, beauty salons, newsagent etc
Away from the hustle and bustle of Surfers Paradise. No need to leave Sanctuary Cove if you just want to relax.
Nice upgrade and welcome gift for platinum club members.

Negatives
Very ordinary service in the Fireplace restaurant.
The entire hotel is looking very tired and is need of an upgrade. It looks like this has commenced with the lagoon pool being emptied and fenced off, plumbers working in a room near us.
Possibly the worst shower that I have experienced in many years, very low water pressure and a poor quality shower head. Definitely not up to Intercontinental standard.

Just spent a week at the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove resort. 3 days conference and 3 days vacation.Perfect combination. I didn't have to hire a car, because there was a transfer available to pick me up at Brisbane airport. The room was very spacious, with a lot of daylight.
The service was the highlight. The whole staff seems to have a big smile on their faces 24/7.
My favourite dinner was at the Fireplace restaurant. The Wagyu beef was phenomenal. The sommelier was always there to suggest a good match for my dish. The reds were a perfect combination for my choices.
Internet worked perfectly well.
Walking around the lagoon, sand beach is a must and if golf is also a priority.
I will be coming back soon.

Intercontinental inherited a rather tired hotel from hyatt. However the staff make up for any wear and tear. Many of the original hyatt staff have been retained and staying here is like coming home to old friends. The views from the rooms overlooking the marina are great. The pool area is undergoing work and the Club area has been moved to it's benefit. There may be money to be spent but this is still a relaxing wonderful place to stay. The 36 holes of golf at Santuary Cove are an added bonus - the Palms has been upgraded and The Pines is an Arnold Palmer classic.
Geoff and Maree - Christchurch.

Room Tip: The rooms over the marina have a great outlook.
