We LOVE The Mouses House - it was our 2nd stay in January 2013 over the long weekend. Yes it rained & poured, but we LOVED that, last time we stayed 7 nights & did all the attractions - this time it was just perfect to be locked up inside with each other in 1 of the most beautiful resorts we have ever been in. We will ALWAYS go back to The Mouses House, ALWAYS!! LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT, thanks Wayne & Christina!!

With post cyclonic wind, rain and flooding for 4 days the weather was not going to make it the most enjoyable long weekend especially with the 2 little streams passing our cabin becoming thundering torrents. The Cabin was stable, comfortable, dry and well equipped but reverberated with the roar of the streams, and any other time would probably have been a lovely basefor all that Springbrook has to offer. The TV in the lounge died for good the 2nd night when our cabin lost power. The whole mountain lost power the 3rd afternoon and while the site generator gave us power on the 4th day we were pretty well isolated with no communication (phones or internet) and roads were closed due to flooding and fallen trees. Consequently we were indoors the whole time. The lounge and bed were comfortable and the air conditioner allowed the cabin to remain dry inside. As a disappointment the pure indulgence package was not quite as advertised (and I notice the website has now addressed some of our queries but at the time the owner made us feel like we had no right questioning the changes to the details).
The visit will always be memorable but maybe for the wrong reasons.

Ex-tropical Cyclone Oswald will be well remembered. It was very unfortunate you and our fully booked retreat had to endure this extremely rare weather event. In regards to our resort and our management, I think we did very well considering the many issues mother nature caused. We communicated, reassured and catered to all our lovely 26 guests needs and requests staying with us over that weekend the best we could. This to say the least was difficult when we ourselves couldn't receive actuate information from authorities. With no telephone or Internet just added to our problems. The weather also effected food supply so due to necessary, changes needed to be made to our advertised inclusions.

We thank you for your report, but we don't see future guests need to be concerned when cyclone's past our region once every 30-50 years or so.

The chalet is beautiful, and I love the setting (amidst the forest). Everybody else had written how wonderful the facility is, so I'm just going to concur with them. The private jacuzzi works nicely, and the fully equipped kitchen is a handy thing to have in this quite remote area (read: limited dining options available). Spent three days walking in the bush with pretty waterfalls. A really enjoyable quiet getaway.

Room Tip: Each chalet is unique, so go their web page and choose the one that suits your need. The pictures an...

If your looking for the ultimate in cosy and quaint and romantic this place is it. Nestled in a beautiful rain forest with a running stream and natural spring what more could you ask for. We loved the complementary port waiting for us in a gorgeous decanter and the comfy leather couches and the snugly blankets and the spa withs view to the forest. Can't say enough about this place, it definitely lives up to its reputation and deserves all its industry awards.
We did not want to leave this place and will definitely be back if we travel east again.

I am writing this whilst sitting in Sleeping Beauty, one of 12 luxury chalets in the Mouses House Rainforest Retreat in the world heritage listed Springbrook National Park in the Hinterland behind Queensland's Gold Coast. I am connected via the free WiFi provided to all the chalets and as a nice touch there is no stuffing around with passwords, you just connect automatically. This is a small but nice touch in an altogether wonderful experience. The chalet is all timber and superbly fitted out with its own outdoor, private hot tub right in the rainforest. The internal fittout is lovely with big floor to ceiling windows and warm timber paneling throughout, a modern kitchen with plenty of utensils, dishwasher, gas stove and stone bench tops.

We are staying three nights and took advantage of the dinner and breakfast packages and it will be a struggle to eat all the food. The Luxury Spa Chalet package also includes a breakfast package with more than enough for two. The Weber BBQ on the deck outside worked perfectly although the lighting in this eco resort could have been a little brighter to cook by outside.

There is a stream bubbling by just beyond the deck and with the abundant wildlife including brush turkies, Lamington Crays (Google it - they are amazing) and many different bird species really make you feel you are in the forest.

There is a huge flat screen TV connected via a Sony playstation to a huge movie archive if that is your thing or if the rainforest does what rainforests do and the rain traps you indoors for a day.

This really is a special place and the owners Wayne and Christine are there to help with anything that might be missing. We played tennis on the half sized tennis court, went for walks in the rainforest, rode the tandem bike and just relaxed and enjoyed the environment.

I can see why it is such a popular place for honeymooners but you hardly see any other guests during the stay as each chalet is very thoughtfully and privately located in the forest.

Would I come back? In a heartbeat. My wife and I have been fortunate to stay in some pretty special places both here in Australia and abroad but this rates right up there with the best.

Mouses House you get five stars from us.

Fantastic time we had at Mouses house. Beautiful chalet surrounded by lush rainforest. All we did was R&R. Will definitely come back again and try some of the other chalets. It's very quiet up in the mountains so all we did was sleep, read, eat and drink. The host Wayne was very laid back and non intrusive but attended to your every need in the quickest manner.

My husband and I stayed at one of the chalets at the spectacular Mouse House on the night of our wedding.... And it was absolutely incredible. It was prettier than we even expected and we absolutely adored being surrounded by such breathtaking beauty! The chalet was very clean, spacious, comfortable and homely. I would love to return again one day:)

I must also say, that communication with management was also excellent. They were very understanding and accommodating:) Thank you Mouse House! I would recommend you to anyone:)
