This is a great little cafe. The owner makes all the food including the most delicious cakes. And the coffee is good! Cosy atmosphere and very friendly. Right next to the rainforest with waterfalls just 5 minutes walk away. The cafe is in Forestry Road.

I've been to Dancing Waters Cafe numerous times as I love the drive up into the Gold Coast Hinterland, whether it be from Mudgeeraba, Murwhillimbah, Canungra or Nerang. The cafe is a great place to stop as it's right next to the Purlingbrook National Park entrance.

The food is full lovely and fresh using local and organic ingredients where possible. The cakes and scones are baked every morning and go great with the good coffee or T2 teas they serve here. Meals are on the lighter side; soups, salads, nachos and the like, rather than heavy roasts or burgers and chips.

The back deck of Dancing Waters overlooks the rainforest of the national park, with a multitude of birdlife including some very cheeky lorikeets (watch your scones!) and is a nice place for a lunch time wine as the place is BYO. As a geologist I also a big fan of the display of opal and minerals, many of which are for sale.

We had a great basic lunch meal. Although it was only a toasted sandwich it was tasty and a bit different. The day was warm and although the cafe was far from full the staff seemed under a fair bit of pressure. Service was focussed on some local folk discussing an upcoming social event and the service was slow and distracted.
