“Rude Rude Rude”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

We made a booking through Bookings.com. The apartments are individually owned and great value for money. The apartment we stayed in was clean and well equipped. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool and spa. Beach is a little walk, not to far.

On the flip side, the manager of Beach Palms Apartment insisted on payment being taken upfront (after taking a deposit at the time of making a booking). It was not indicated anywhere in any of the booking confirmations received from them or Bookings.com. Even though he rudely said to me "you should have known". He is rude, arrogant and the embarrassing conversation absolutely spoilt the atmosphere for the rest of the holiday.

The next day we asked for a DVD player and he indicated that he prefers cash as EFT payments would attract GST. We left a day earlier as I just could not wait to leave. I should have paid more attention to the reviews left here by others before me. Could have saved me this horrible experience.

BeachPalms gave us a lovely spotlessly clean and very spacious apartment with beautiful views of the ocean, coastline and hinterland. We loved the pool /hot tub and warm friendly staff. Really handy to everything on the Gold Coast and only an hour’s drive to explore Northern Rivers and Brisbane. We will definitely come again.
The apartment was well equipped, just like home with two ensuite bathrooms, plenty of kitchen space with utensils, oven, mircowave, dishwasher and a nice size fridge. The Balcony was large with outdoor furniture that could easily entertain people with lovely views during the day and in the evenings. All the rooms are spacious and have a place for everything so you feel at home and not living out of a suit case.

We felt extremely safe and secure at all times and our vehicle was safely parked in the underground car park which is easily accessible to the apartment.
BeachPalms is so central to everything and popular with nice restaurants, take-a- ways and the Surf club which was full of friendly people as well as providing delicious meals. We could have a drink & meal and not have to drive back to the apartment. There is a Coles Supermarket and a 24 emergency medical clinic 5 minutes away.

We’ve stayed at BeachPalms before and Phil & Lynn (Managers) will always do whatever they can to help.

There is a two minute walk to the local surf club with a lovely patrolled beach that enables safe swimming and for morning and evening walks.

We will certainly return again for another stay.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper request the apartment on the north side facing the sea

Stayed for 3 nights - 4th floor. I do have to agree - as another reviewer put it, the room was a little 'tired' although it seemed to be part way through a refurb (new vanities). That didn't bother us in the least though!
The rooms are comfortable, very spacious, with two ensuites and have everything you could possibly need.

Great amenities; huge TV with Austar, full kitchen with dishwasher.

The balcony with a view of the beach and surfers in the distance was beautiful.

We loved the spa and pool! Secure underground parking...

There was also a Pool table and table tennis table (although these aren't free)...

Overall, we were very happy with the accom. and the management, and a fantastic location for a great price. (we also have 2 kids under 3 and found it pretty kid friendly, although kids on the balcony freaked me out...) :)

There was an apartment for lease in the building when we stayed, and we would so happily live there - so I think that speaks volumes...

We recently stayed here for a week and had a really lovely time. Our unit had ocean views and was spotless. The place is very central to everything. Only a few minutes to Burleigh Heads where I think the beach is nicer but it is also close to other lovely walking spots as well. There are plenty of nice restaurants in the area and generally we felt it was great value for money.

Totally concur with review written by previous traveler , stayed here in December 2009. Read reviews before we left and still booked with them. Big mistake, accommodation is very clean however slightly tired , pictures of location are deceptive ,as beach is actually one street away however not a long walk and beach is beautiful, however Manager is an overbearing middle aged man who probably needs to move on, presides over the swimming pool and micromanages everyone's comings and goings as if he may be working for Asio . Allows extra guests but wants cash payments upfront? outside of booking invoice? Not someone l would choose to converse with ordinarily we placated him during our stay, because we had paid in advance and could not get a refund. Staying here would be compromising happy holidays with your children so think twice even if the price seems right.

Stayed here for a week in Feb 09 with husband and 13 year old son on the top floor in the 2 bedroom penthouse. The rooms were spotless and very spacious. There were two bathrooms, a huge kitchen with plenty of utensils for cooking, oven, mircowave, dishwasher and full sized fridge. Although I only used the kettle and toaster as I do all the cooking at home, I don't cook when away. There was also a separate cupboard that hid the washing machine, dryer, iron, ironing board and an air rack.

If you like soft pillows then your going to have a great sleep but if like me you prefer a firm pillow than I suggest to pack your own as the pillows are very soft. I am a light sleeper and although the building is located on the main highway I did not hear the traffic all night until about 5.30 in the morning.

There was a balcony that wraped across the loungeroom and main bedroom with a table and four chairs which was great to sit out on and overlook the beautiful beach and get a good view of planes flying in.

The apartments are very secure with your room key needed to activate the gate for the car park as well as the front door and lift. Phil the hotel manager was very friendly and polite at all times with great tips on where to eat and places to visit.

Apartments are very centraly located only 10 minute drive from Coolangatta Airport and only 20 minute drive to Surfers Paradise. Some of the shops across the road were, Subway, Cold Rock Ice Creamy, Thai Restaurant, Chinese Restaurant, Indian Restaurt, Pizza Bar, Sushi Bar, Chemist, Surf Shop, mixed business Chemist and many others and there was also a coles supermarket five minutes walk away and two Doctors nearby.

It was a two minute walk to the local surf club which served delicious meals and only two minutes walk to a lovely patrolled beach which was not only great for swimming but also for morning and evening walks.

The apartments had a spa and pool and a games room which consisted of table tennis, pool table, exercise bike, two arcade game machines and a drinks machine. The games room was located in the carpark but we never smelt any fumes from the cars whilst we were there.

The only complaint that I would have is that there was no screen door from the loungeroom to the balcony only a sliding door, which when left open let in a cool breeze but in summer time it would let in the bugs as well.

We would definatly stay at this accommodation again when visiting the Gold Coast

Our family of five stayed in Unit 27 - top floor at the front of the building overlooking the ocean and Jefferson Lane.

The unit was spotless, fully removated and so clean. The views, up and down the coast line, on the spacious decks were second to none, the breeze and sound of the waves was exectly what we were hoping for from the brouchure.

So close to a variety of shops at Palm Beach.

We are booked in again for three weeks next year.

Thanks to all - wonderful.
