“It felt like being in Spain....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

Six of us enjoyed a great night out at Pablo Pablo last night. What a great place... I really thought we were back in Spain enjoying some really good tapas, the Jamon Serrano was really good!! Some Cava (the Spanish champagne) & Sangria's... all good.
We all had the $39 a head set menu... a really good variety of tastes, although none of us ate the quail dish as it was just too salty which was unfortunate.... but the chorizo & beans under the quail was really tasty!!
A couple more Churros would have been great too... (I'm sure they are bigger in Spain).. but really nice!!

“Great tapas and atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 23, 2012

This place has only been open about a month, but was full when we arrived. There is an option for a banquet/set menu, which we will definitely try next time. We were with a group of friends, so opted to try a variety of individual dishes. I found the food to be very tasty and just a little different to the food and tapas that you get everywhere else. Try the white sangria, or ask the bartender to mix you a cocktail. The staff are all friendly, helpful with the menu and attentive. The atmosphere, lighting and music was all wonderful, I didn't even notice that it was pouring with rain outside! There is a function room off to the side, which would be great for a party. Loved the ladies bathroom. Just wish this place was a little closer to where I lived, but well worth the drive to check it out, another great restaurant addition to the area.

“Just what the locals ordered but good tourist spot too!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2012

I live at Currumbin and we locals have been crying out for a taste plate-styled venue that has good atmosphere, is easy to get to and doesn't break the budget.

I came across Pablo Pablo by chance the other day - tucked into Fifth Avenue just off the Gold Coast Highway - so easy to get to with on street parking or off-street in the nearby Coles underground or Council car park both a short stroll away.

But what I loved was the food. Just as the name suggests, this is Mexican / Spanish Tapas - authentico!! Loads of lip smacking items on the menu - it was a little hard to choose - but everything we had was fabulous. There's vegetarian choices as well as amazing sardines, squid, anchovies imports from Spain - only their finest. The portions are well sized, well priced and just sensational. We were advised by the staff who knew their menu well that the chefs try to source locally for many items but that it was important to them to keep the Latin eatery very pure as well for the seafood items.

The barman makes a wicked sangria (white and red) and there's Spanish beer and wine stocked. A nice twist to try.

The night we went the place was packed which added so much ambience to the festivities. There's a back pavilion for functions or large groups and the main restaurant with break out area to the road with high stools and tables that is a great al fresco space.

I loved the experience and cannot speak highly enough. Since our first visit we have been back over and over again. Lunch and dinner most days (check their Facebook page I think) and, of course, Fridays and Saturday nights has become massive - you'd need to book.
