Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed January 22, 2014 via mobile

This is a piece of paradise. The kids enjoyed the creek just next to tallebudgera creek tourist park and the beach that is just across the road. We especially enjoyed our night walks to the beach catching crabs. Also do visit currumbin rockpool area. The kids love the rock slides and jumping off cliffs. The swimming pool in the park provided the adults a chance to relax while the children have their fun with the pool slides. All facilities within the park are kept extremely clean and tidy. The bathrooms are cleaned twice daily which is such a pleasant surprise. Staff members at the reception are so so cheerful, polite and helpful. Nothing is too much of a hassle for these ladies in the reception. The atmosphere within the park is also very cheerful, relaxed and friendly. Obviously, this park is very popular among family with children so expect some noise from the children. If you don't like kids, stay away. My family made wonderful long lasting memories at this special place and we plan to return at least once every year from now on. I have only two things that are not so positive to mention here: when asking the children for their wristbands, staff members need to be mindful of their tone of voice. Overtly authoritative and demanding tone may not be the best way to approach children especially the younger ones as it may be too scary for them that a stranger spoke to them in such a manner. Parents may not appreciate their children being spoken to this way either and as a result may not return to the park. Lastly, it is perhaps not the best idea to have a male walk into the ladies room during "peak" period to check and clean the bathroom especially when there is insufficient warning before he enters. Shouting out as the male staff member walked into the ladies is not really a warning as you were already in the bathroom. Apart from these two not-so-positive feedbacks, I have to say that Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park is indeed a beautiful and charming place to visit. I would recommend it to ally friends and family. Thank you for giving us so much wonderful memories that we can cherish forever.

Hi LJONG1,
Thank you for taking the time to post a review in regards to the Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park. We are VERY happy to read you enjoyed our park so much and we look forward to welcoming you back as a regular guest.

It is great that the hard work our team put into keeping the amenities blocks clean did not go unnoticed. Throughout peak times it is sometimes hard to maintain the cleanliness but our team do try very hard. So thank you. Whilst it is so busy, we do require the grounds team to complete several walk through checks each day. This is a strategy used to maintain the cleanliness of the amenities blocks between cleans. Please do take note that all of our team are trained to announce their presence upon entering the amenities blocks.

School holidays definitely do bring out the children! Throughout off peak periods it is generally a lot more relaxed as the park is a bit quieter. In regards to your comments about the wristbands, we will certainly take note of this and pass it onto the staff who do the pool checks.

It is good to see that these issues mentioned have not jeopordised your return to the park and we really do look forward to welcoming you back soon!

Kindest Regards,
The team at Tally :)

My family has been coming to the park most Xmas and Easter holidays for the past few years (powered camp sites) and have always loved it. The park has a lot to offer families and is in a great location. However, I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the amenities this year. We had visitors drop in for the day and it was embarrassing when they had to use the amenities and only 2 of the toilets were clean enough to use (most of the toilets were not just unclean, they were a disgrace). The toilets need to be checked constantly during the peak season and cleaned more often.
I was also very disappointed with the current system of allocating sites. We had a group booking yet we were put on sites two avenues from each other. Given the park's policy is to pay site fees in advance and the fees are non-refundable, then we should at least be told what sites we are paying for at the time of making the booking. We would have gone to another park if we were told at the time of booking that our group sites weren't going to be near each other. Site numbers should be allocated at the time of booking and not be changed without consent. It might also be advisable to get van/tent dimensions from guests at the time of booking to ensure larger sites are available to those who require it.

Hi 781Michelle,
Thank you for taking the time to post a review in relation to your recent stay at Tallebudgera. We do apologise that our park did not meet your standards this time around.

Over peak periods such as Christmas/New Years, our grounds and housekeeping team do several additional cleans on the two amenities blocks to maintain our cleanliness standards. With the park being at full occupancy throughout this period it is often difficult to monitor between cleans and as such our grounds schedule includes a number of walk throughs of the amenities blocks are done to check that everything is presentable for our guests. If our reception team are notified by guests that the amenities blocks are not up to standards then they will phone through to our grounds team who will do an additional walk through and fix any apparent issues. Since receiving your review we been monitoring these areas very closely to ensure that the high cleanliness standards are maintained. Again I do apologise that you were dissatisfied with the cleanliness of the amenities this stay.

As part of our park policy we do not allocate site numbers until the day of arrival. However, we do take site preferences upon booking and our team are advised to take note of the setup sizes for each reservation to ensure guests will fit on the site. We do apologise that your preferences were not met this time around and please understand that over this premium period it is sometimes hard for us to keep all guests happy in the way of site numbers. We hope that this policy has not jeopordised your return to the park and that we can welcome you back soon.

Kind Regards,
Donna Harrison, Park Manager & the Team at Tally

Have left the park yesterday after my 4 week booking. I congratulate you an the swift action after the storm hit. I am on site 344. A tree that fell/was blown down behind was assessed by your staff, and then cut up and removed next day by the council. My only negative is that the area beside me was not mowed during the four weeks. I am aware that a permanent residents does often mow this area, and she is not well at present. over the last few days,.
Cars were not observing the speed limit as they were TURNED towards the back gate.
The front fence is in need of repair. I observed many younger people climbing through the holes. This does make it difficult for the night security to guard.

Do I as receive the 10% discount on next years booking?. I booked before I left on Friday.

Hi Merrie,
Thank you for your great review on the Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park. We are really happy to hear that you enjoyed your recent stay with us. Thank you for your comments in relation to the storm and how our team handled it- that is most appreciated.

Our permanent residents in the park are required to maintain the lawns on their own properties. However, we will certainly follow up on the circumstances in your review as it is concerning that this was not done for four weeks.

Please take note that the fence near the unpowered sites has been scheduled for repair in early February. Could you please phone us on 07 5667 2700 to discuss the friends discounted rate for your next stay.

Thank you!

Kind Regards,

Enjoyed our time at the park and the kids activities etc however do feel that site selection method could be improved. At no time can you be given any idea of what site you will be on, thus then the right to choose another park for a better option of site. This holiday we were right down in next to the permanent sites, close to the freeway and a LONG way from the beach, if I knew this was my site I might have chosen not to take it and choose a different park. I do think that some idea of what area you will be given would be better when spending $600 for a week holiday.

Hi Marleene B,
Thank you for taking the time to post a review on your recent stay at the Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your time at the park and the activities that we had organised for the kids.

As part of our park policy we do not allocate site numbers until the day of arrival. We do however book into the category of site i.e. waterfront, premium, ensuite. The different categories of sites are located in a range of areas throughout the park and when allocating we do try our very best to meet everyone's preferences. We do apologise that your preferences were not met this time around and please understand that over this premium period it is sometimes hard for us to keep all guests happy in the way of site numbers.

For your next stay, if you are looking at being situated closer to the beachfront, can we suggest booking a waterfront site if available. This will ensure that your booking is not moved from the waterfront category and that you can be situated right on the water as preferred. Alternatively we have categories of sites such as drive thru which are all very close to the pool and premium which are close to the pool or the waterfront.

We hope that this policy has not jeopordised your return to the park and that we can welcome you back soon.

Kindest Regards,
The team at Tally :)

Now under New Management! The current Manager has brought in many new ideas for Family entertainment over the Xmas/New Year holidays. All are great ideas with a good mix of food & entertainment for all ages. We have been staying for years now & plan on continuing. The longer pool hours is a big plus for the children! Thank you Management. This Park offers something for everyone. My first visit was in 1974 & it's come a long way since then!!! Highly recommend the Park. Regards Susanne & Jim Balfour

Location was excellent for a relaxing family holiday. Creek was fantastic and it was a very easy walk, bike or scooter ride to the rock wall and surf beach.

Staff were lovely and amenities were clean.

The only negatives I have are the sites were compact (this was also due the the fact the the person beside us already set up was well and truly over on our site - perhaps this is something that the staff need to keep an eye on as i'm sure they were not paying top dollar for our peak season site as well!)

Also the kids entertainment could have been advertised better and inform parents that it was being presented by a religious group. I do not have a problem with this however I do not like they way that this wasn't acknowledged other than very small signage on the marquee and then the superhero puppet songs starts claiming Jesus is a Superhero.

Hi Paula,
Thank you for taking the time to review the Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park. It is great to hear that your family had a relaxing holiday and enjoyed the location. Thank you for you comments in regards to our friendly staff and clean amenities.

Site boundaries are set for the comfort of all guests and sites are measured to ensure each category has relatively the same amount of room for their setup. Through such a busy time of year it is sometimes hard for our team to monitor all sites and setups. However, we are MORE than happy to approach guests who cross over boundaries if it is reported to our front office team.

We will certainly take your comments on board in relation to the Christian school group and how it is advertised on our promotional materials. We will also pass this along to their group and the flyers that they distribute.

Hopefully this has not jeopardised your return to the park and we can welcome you and the family back soon.

Kind Regards,
The Team at Tally :)

We love Talle, but usually stay in Winter. Our only complaint is that over the years the heated pool had gotten less heated than it used to. I could swim in in Winter but not the last few years - the temperature has been turned down we think and borders on cold - even the kids complain.

We stayed the week of Christmas also this year but this time in a villa, which we paid a whopping $2300 for! Really, you could get a lot more modern accommodation for this price as the villas are a little plain and tired - even run-down a little. I think we will look around for 'nicer' accommodation next year. if your after 4 star, then this aint it - maybe 3 star at a pinch. Beds are fairly comfy. Position is perfect, just disappointed in the standard of the villa. We would prefer to take our caravan as we usually do.

At christmas time, they insisted that we all wear red wristbands, which were a pain, and I have no idea why, when no-one ever checked whether you were wearing them or not, security was pretty hopeless as we saw every Tom, Dick and Harry come and leave the park as they pleased whether they were paid guests, visiting friends or relatives or just felt like using the pool. Some even came in and set up for the day on the grass directly in front of our villa, again, no-one questioning whether they were paid guests or not. They can just walk in off the street. Again, for the price we paid, not good enough standards.

We do love Talle, but sorry managers - not good enough, and found you get a bit of attitude from some of the staff too. Treated just a number, which I can understand but if you ask a question, well the answer usually comes with attitude - bit off-putting.

Hi Mitchfam67,
Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review on your recent stay at the Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park.

From May- Early September it is our park policy is to heat the pools between 26-28 degrees, our park policy has not changed over the last few years. In saying this, the outside environment does play a large role in how effectively the heaters work in the pools. As an example; if it rains often, the pools generally drop to a cooler temperature despite every effort to keep it higher. We do try our very best to maintain the 26-28 degree temperature for the comfort of our guests over Winter as we do understand that it does get quite fresh.

We do apologise that the waterfront villa did not meet your expectations this time around. The prices for our villas do increase quite substantially throughout the premium Christmas/New Year period as it is our busiest time of year. We do have discounted rates and often run specials throughout quieter periods however our prices are set based on the high occupancy we experience throughout this time along with the park facilities, activities and of course our location.

The wristbands are implemented over peak periods to ensure that each visitor using the park facilities (especially the pools) has paid for their stay or day visit. Whilst it is sometimes hard to monitor the visitors entering and exiting the park, we do charge additional fees to be issued with one of these bands. Our groundsmen along with our resident manager have constantly been doing checks over the pool area over this school holiday period and they do evict those guests who do not have wristbands on. I do apologise if you did not see this occur however I assure you that the checks have been happening and will continue to happen until the end of the school holiday period.

We would like to sincerely apologise for feeling as though you were ‘just a number’ at the Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park. We would certainly never intend to make our guests feel this way and are constantly educating our team on ways to try and go above and beyond for our guests as we do value each and every one of you.

If you would like to discuss any of the issues on a more personal level either over the phone or via email I would be more than happy to discuss.

Hopefully the issues that you experienced this time around have not jeopordised your return to Tallebudgera and we can look forward to welcoming you back over the winter period.

Kindest Regards,

Donna Harrison (Park Manager) & The team at Tally
