“Be careful of your wording when you book”
Reviewed November 9, 2011

After having stayed here every year when I was younger with my parents I thougt this would be a perfect place for my family to stay. Upon booking I requested an ocean view room with a bath. Upon arrival I was to discover that the ocean view is more of a glance. If you want complete ocean views you have to ask for an ocean front room. Oh and the bath didn't exist. Apart from that in some ways we were glad that we were on the side of the building as Surfers Paradise weather blew a gale and it was unseasonally cold the whole time we were there and had we been on the front we would never have been able to go out onto the balcony. The managers are fantastic, really lovely people that would do anything for you. The unit it's self wasn't really suited to a family with three small children ie. glass dinning table and coffee table, fully tiled floors etc. We found that the sound reverberated off the building next door and made the unit really quite loud to be in even if you were trying to be quite. The room was clean with a fully equiped kitchen and thankfully a couple of started packs ie dishwashing liquid and washing detergent, to see you through until you can get to the shops. It's location would have to be one of it's best selling points. With it being only a short 10min (max) drive to Pacific Fair, and same again in the south direction to get to Burleigh Heads and there is a doctor, chemist 2 x IGA's, a BWS, multiple takeaway stores etc within a short 5 min walk to the main road. I would reccommend these units to families with older children such as teenagers or friends travelling together but not so much a family with small children as there is very little for them if unable to go down to the beach and they will only get bored very quickly.

Room Tip: Be sure to confirm the type of you you will get ie, ocean view, ocean front etc or you may end up wi...

Have stayed several times over the years. It is dated in parts and places, but the view and the closeness of the beach make up for it. It handy to great restaurants to walk out for dinner and the Nobby Beach Surf club is a good cheap dinner.

Room Tip: Ocean Front is great as lounge and both bedroom have balcony and view

The views from this third floor apartment were wonderful as was its proximity to the beach. The managers were helpful and kept the block clean. The apartment itself needs a good clean, particularly the ensuite shower and tiles need replacing as do the taps in both bathroom shower units. The kitchen was clean and functional. The lounge was comfortable but smelled and really required upgrading. The bed in the main bedroom was old, worn and uncomfortable as were the pillows. It would be worthwhile having flyscreens on the doors to the outside of the apartment as the rooms became hot and stuffy at night, given that we were advised to keep them locked.
An average apartment for the price but the view makes up for a lot of the shortcomings

Couldn't have asked for anything better. Although not 5 star nor altra modern, the room was neat and very tidy. It had a full self contained kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine/dryer. Room was very clean. Easy access to beach/pool. We stayed in Room 1 which was located on the Ground Level. We had direct access to the swimming pool/beach. The people who run the premises were very lovely people. The complex itself is very well located. The beach was absolutely beautiful. The kids loved being able to go every day. All we had to do was chuck on the bathers and run down to the beach. Once we were done all we had to do was walk back to the room and jump straight into the shower. Was very convienient. Would recommend to anyone who isn't too hung up on appearance etc. Location was A1...

The price for 7 nights was not bad (125pn) which was good, because the facilities were aging. It was comfortable, amenities were good, location was great, but rust was evident, painting was aged and fading, carpeting was rough. The carpets were cleaned the day we arrived, which was nice... but wet carpets for the first day wasn't fun. Eww. If you are not too fussed on aesthetics and don't mind the place showing some age, you'll find it comfortable and decent.

We stayed at this venue for a long weekend and were far from impressed.
Whilst the ocean view was superb, our stay was marred by the fact that we had to buy our own equipment to use. The iron was so black that we daren't even turn it on so we had to buy another as the (temporary) management couldnt locate a spare. There was also no hair dryer (as advertised on the Wotif website) so, again we had to go out and buy one.
When we first arrived, we were greeted by the temporary managers. They seemed friendly enough but went straight into a routine speech about what they would charge us for if we touched it. (not good customer service when you're paying almost 500 dollars for a weekend accomodation only!)

The room smelled so musty it seemed no one had opened a door or window in months.
The balcony was absolutely infested with insects each morning so we couldn't even use it before we went out. It han't even been sprayed with insect repellent.
Even after I had bought a new iron, when I went to use it in the laundry, I received an electric shock from the power outlet.
The door and window frames are all rusty.
There was an old stick being used to block a window shut as there was easy access along balconies from other units and there were no windo locks.
Many paint repairs have been made and the colours dont even match. (More like housing commission than so called luxury apartments!)
The bed was so hard that my wife woke up on the first morning with a big red mark on her thigh from lying on it.
After three nights I could hardly walk and it took over a week for my back pain to ease.
There werent even any sink plugs that fitted properly so we couldnt even wash the dishes comfortably.

I went to reception to (politely) ask if i could borrow a bit of sugar as we'd ran out and it was a twenty minute walk to get some.
I was greeted with response "They ARE self contained units you know" I replied "so you have no, even just a couple of sachets" she said It's in ther basement and refused to get it or to even let me go down and get it myself.
I said "don't worry then I'll just go without" and walked away.
She replied "oh JESUS!" which really was an offensive lack of courtesy considering she is allegedly a hospitality professional.

To cap it all off hen we were checking out we weren't even asked if we enjoyed our stay. The manager just showed us a print off of their web page with the words "self contained" highlighted in green. (Shame they dont know what's incorrectly advertised on other web sites.!) All just to prove a worthless point to no one but two extremely let down customers that will never return.

To compare:
I travel inter state frequently for work and stay in all levels of accomodation in capital cities and rural areas. I am certainly no snob and do not expect any more than the correct attitude and level of service from any entity to which I make payment for a service.
Foreshore apartments' level of service and attitude was by far the most ignorant and inconsiderate towards its customers that i can remember encountering.

I stayed recently in a capital city CBD 4 star hotel for a lower charge and was spoilt rotten by every single member of staff I encountered.
I will definitely not recommend this venue for anything more than a kennel stay for a stray dog.

Basic confort is one thing but ignorant and arrogant staff is another when all we wanted was to enjoy our stay on the Gold Coast and enjoy the wedding of a relative that we hadnt seen in almost two decades.

I sincerely hope the apartyment owner gets to read this as that poor person is obviously paying these people to provide a quality service (at which they fail miserably!)

What a shame and a waste of our hard earned time and money.

We booked through Blue Sky Holiday Group and they manage just the one apartment. The view from the apartment was good although slightly to the side rather than full ocean fronted, although the balcony wraps around 2 sides with patio doors from bedroom 2 and the lounge to create a great through draft. Very spacious and everything you need for a home from home. This particular apartment was a little dated in decor although others were being renovated during our stay and maybe this one will be done soon. Cleanliness did leave a lot to be desired as the cutlery etc was dirty when we arrived so we feel we left the place cleaner and as the sofas are pink and cream leather they could do with a good clean or replacement.
Location was good - right on the beach with shops only a few hundred yards away, a quiet residental area with parking underneath and a private swimming pool. The waves are really strong so wouldn't recommend for young children but great for adults or surfers.
