As a long time resident on the Gold Coast, Terraces Seafood Buffet Restaurant at Sheraton Mirage was always our first choice for 5 star excellence and quality.
We were very disappointed for the first time. Admittedly there are renovations still continuing and all the lagoon pools were empty (a slight musky/dusty smell) as well as the swimming pool. So the outlook was lacking its usual appeal. The restaurant has been modernised and looks good.
The Buffet price was reduced - a winter price! However, there was no mention that it was going to be a far less impressive and very restricted selection on offer. The fresh seafood was limited to oysters, prawns and some spanner crab. The cooked seafood was perch in sauce, crumbed whiting and calamari skewers. There was a limited selection of dishes e.g. Spring Rolls; Chicken curry & Rice; Sweet & Sour Pork; Roast Meat & Vegetables. The dessert selection was about one third of what would normally be on display.
We hope this is just an interim problem, as Terraces Restaurant has always had a superb reputation. Our suggestion would be to wait until all the work is finished and maybe when the price goes back up, the quality and selection will also.
A quick note regarding the staff.....they always work extremely hard and were very attentative and accommodating.
