We really enjoyed our week at the Maldives Apartments. Best to pay for the high floors as the view is wonderful especially when the weather is wild.
The resort is close to all amenities, beach, Tedder Ave restaurants, bus services, Gold coast attractions,
It is quiet, has well appointed 1 bed apartments and the pool and spa area are pleasant. The only thing the resort couldn't do was enure that the weather was fine!
We would reccomend to stay here , and we look forward to another visit.

Room Tip: pay for highest floor that you can for the best view

Maldive Resort is right in between the beach, surf life saving club and Tedder Ave and is great value.

Making our reservation was simple and easy as was checking in a couple of weeks later. We stayed in a Superior Suite (worth the extra $) on the 14th floor with great views of the beach. The apartment had just been renovated and was perfect with pay TV, kitchen, laundry, iphone charging clock radio and a great little verandah to sit outside and enjoy a drink and the view. There is an undercover car park (2.1M for 4WD owners) and a very nice swimming pool as well.

Tedder Ave is 100m away and has many great restaurants and cafes which we sampled several of. The surf life saving club was also a great spot for a beer at sunset and good value.

We'll be back!

Room Tip: Pay for a superior suite if you value a good view.

Thank you for your review and glad to hear you liked the apartment. The Superior Apartments on the top floors are all beautiful apartments and have amazing views. It sounds like you got out and sampled some of the local restaurants and clubs and I am sure you will agree we are very spoilt for choice with such a huge selection all in easy walking distance. Thanks again and we look forward to welcoming you back to Maldives. Regards, David

We chose The Maldives Apartments based on the reviews of Trip Advisor.

And we really can't say enough good things about this establishment.

We only wanted a 1 bedroom or studio apartment, (husband and wife) - so we were pleased to find this excellent value apartment, (for the area), ($155/night for Ocean View apartment, Feb 15th to 19th Fri-Tues).

Many buildings cater for families or groups with 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. We were pleased to be in a building with only 1 bedroom apartments - and many owner occupiers.

We were allocated room 1506, on the 15th floor and it was fantastic. Just what we were looking for. Calm and relaxing looking out at the view from the lounge, kitchen and bedroom. Flat screen TV with many channels. Plus a large balcony so you can sit back from the edge and enjoy the view even if you suffer from vertigo, (which we do).

Security is a big issue for us and this building was brilliant.
The underground car park can only be accessed with a key through either the lifts or gated driveway. No one can get inside without a key. Basically, no one can go anywhere in the lifts without a key. The building is also key-access only before 7am and after 7pm, (don't quote those times, but something like that). There is always a manager on the reception desk during normal office hours and mornings on Sat/Sun.

Little extras like the luggage trolleys in the car-park were a great convenience - we could get all of our gear up to our apartment in one trip. Such a simple idea and yet so useful.

The pool had a warm spa attached to it - and it was warm - even though the weather was very wet and windy.

Location-wise The Maldives is fantastic. About 300m to Tedder Ave, 300m in the other direction to a great licensed cafe which has a Sunday session, similar short walk to the beach. Southport surfclub is very close and is a wonderful facility, right on the water! for well priced meals and drinks - also quality live entertainment on a Sunday afternoon.

We enjoyed it so much we extended our stay. We would not even bother to shop around next time we want to stay in the area. This is the best value if you want close to the beach and different levels of restaurants / cafes, catering to many different budgets. Of course you can also self cater.

Finally, the staff / managers were exceptionally good at their role. They made us feel very welcome and comfortable.

Room Tip: We prefer the rooms higher up because we think they have the best views.

The hotel was absolutely a great place to relax. The pool with pure water where we could have swim every morning. The room located on 14th floor where we could have excellent view to the horizon. Room was extremely modern, spacious, too. Great place for relaxing !

When you stay longer like me for 35 nights you really can relax, enjoy the views, have a swim in the pool or whirl pool and enjoy Foxtel on the movie channels all included. You will always come back to this resort, thank you. Therefore I am already a repeated guest since 2002.

Room Tip: all rooms have great views, the higher till 15th floor, the better with the parking garage in the basement it is very comfortable
