We stayed here for a week, and couldn't have been happier. The location was a little out of the way, but still less than a ten minute drive to the heart of Surfers. Overall the experience was excellent.
The kids (boy 10, girl 5) loved the water play area by the pool, and the waterpark attached to the theme park, which is accesible from the resort, was also a favourite. Although the water play operating hours seem to be arbitrary, and should be longer, there was still plenty of time for the kids to have fun. Although the pool was supposed to be heated, it didn't seem like it, but that didn't stop the kids.
The resort staff were friendly and efficient, although food service in the lobby bar was a bit slow.
I would recommend getting unlimited entry to the Sea World theme park, as we were able to spend our time enjoying the rides and shows over the week, instead of in one long, tiring day.
This is a non-smoking resort, except in designated areas, which is excellent and adds to the family friendly nature of the place.
Be warned, I would not recommend travelling to Surfers at the end of October, as this is when alot of roads are closed for the supercars, and finding your way around can become confusing.
Overall, a great experience, and highly recommended. Will be back.

We stayed three nights at the Sea World Resort, and it was an excellent stop on our holiday, and definitely the highlight for the kids. The room was bright and well-serviced, and the staff were especially helpful, even with offspring number three's vanishing acts.

The kids loved the water playground on the resort grounds (there is another in Sea World that is open to resort guests), but seemed to be turned off very early, and this was disappointing.

More disappointing, however, is the inflated costs, and the deceptive promotional materials. We were disgusted to learn that the "All Day Meal Deal" promoted through the website and everywhere in the resort only included two meals. Most Australians eat three meals a day, so to promote a deal as 'all day' to me definitely implies there are three. The wording on kids pricing was clearer, but I missed it, and was charged twice what I expected for the children. Still, they absolutely loved the meals, and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of what was on offer. It wasn't great, but it was good.

Of course, bringing my kids to a theme park for a holiday, I expected to have every loose dollar extracted by force, but however you look at it, it isn't a pleasant experience. In hindsight, the offsite option for Sea World would have been better; the advantages of being at the resort simply don't outweigh the disadvantages, and the cost is astronomical.

We stayed only for one night on a special of $99 which I thought was an appropiate price for the room but wouldn't pay anymore than that to be honest. However in saying that the the room was spotless, the bathroom was also clean and everything looked absolutely amazing, had a great sleep and beds very cosy. But on the outside of the rooms it looks like your in a prison or something it's all very cold looking. Another thing I'm a smoker and there is no smoking on the premises apart from designated smoking areas so that was a bit annoying as I had no idea where they were. Breakfast was a buffet which was amazing enjoyed this very, very much.

We had been looking forward to this holiday for weeks, but instantly upon check in were disillusioned with the once exciting resort. The resort, once bouncing with life, was dull and pricey. We had chosen to stay at the resort because of the VIP deal with tickets to the theme parks - the tickets came through, but our room was much less than that made for a VIP. We had requested a king/queen bed to share but had been given the standard room for children, making us feel a little awkward.

Perhaps a result of the climate, but the room was ridden with cockroaches and ants - not helped by a lazy housekeeping department that wouldn't clear old glasses or plates. This resort is hugely isolated from the rest of the region, and therefore buying food outside the resort is difficult. It's a long walk to public transport and the prices of taxis are ridiculous. So we were stuck with the 90% deep fried menu of their "cafe", and the $5.50 fee of the room service.

Thankfully, we had good enough company that the rude and short service of the clearly unhappy staff did not greatly bother us. Sea World itself was fun for the first few hours, but definitely recommended to go in the summer - winter seems to be the month for "improvements".

Stayed here for 10 nights in late January- early Feb with my wife + our 2 and 4 year olds. The kids loved the water park the resort's pool. We did eat at the pool and lobby cafes although we found the food to be pricey. Got woken up early the first couple of mornings with staff keen to refill the mini bar but after chatting to the front reception this did cease. Also arranged for housekeeping to clean our rooms at a particular time each day so as not to disrupt the kids afternoon naps. Any request to staff was dealt with promptly and professionally.
The only downside of the resort is that its a bit far from other food or recreation options. Lucky for us we had a car.
Overall, if you can get yourself a good deal on the price (we got a 5 night for the price of 3), its definately worth visiting, especially if you have young kids. They'll really enjoy the pool and waterpark.

Basic accommodation, the room backed onto a carpack and radio transmission tower yuck. Aqua park closed down and everyone was asked to vacate swimming pool as chemicals were being added. This wouldnt have posed a problem except my 3yr had just got in for a swim and wasn't happy about getting out. Several people continued to arrive at pool and had to b turned back. A sign indicating closure on pool gates would have been helpful. Food average but no choice to elsewhere if u have no car and small children or infirm people unable to walk long distances. We only booked because of its location being so close sea world but needn't have bothered as most of sea world ubder construction so shouldn't have bothered. Staff where either really helpful or down right rude. Wouldnt come back.

Seaworld resort must attend to that dangerous fluctuating water temp issue that has been complained about many times. It will only be a matter of time before a child or elderly person is scalded . The plumber who attended our room told us that he couldnt do anything to help as its major pipe work that needs to be done. So my advise is inspect your room at check in ...turn on the shower and wait ...does is go freezing then scalding hot....if yes then request another room....although many at our conference had the same issues .
