On arrival, Alice was the perfect greeting to a tired traveller, polite, helpful, efficient and smiling. I stayed at the resort as part of a business conference for two nights. My room, 1080, was spacious, ground floor, with an enormous bath. Once, I was caught in torrential rain outdoors, and a housemaid gave me a towel to dry off, plus directions back to the lobby without having to go outside. A colleague and I ate our packed lunch on the 3rd floor bar area , and a waitress took it upon herself to serve us iced water. Such initiative. These examples show that although the resort has beautiful facilities, it's the humble staff that make the difference. Well done to them.

I have been coming to the Sheraton Mirage at the Goldcoast for the past ten years and it never dissappoints. I cannot recommend it enough. I stayed for four days for my birthday this month, and once again the staff were fabulous and even provided me with a small bithday cake in my room. The refurbishments are fantastic as is the buffet. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone who loves luxury in a laid back atmosphere.

Our whole family gathered here to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had lunch in their restaurant - $79 per head plus drinks. I must admit, paying $160 per couple for lunch, food only, I feel is a bit steep - it is only a buffet after all, but it suited us. The hotel is lovely with flowing lines, lots of glass and tiles. The outside pool area is lovely with a swim-up bar and kiddies pool and you have easy access to the beach. Plenty of eateries across the road and a local market is held there on Saturday mornings. Overall, lovely and I would recommend.

Dear Maz

We appreciate your review and your recommendation, and were delighted to know that this visit for your husband’s birthday was such an enjoyable one.

From day one (21 September 1987) Sheraton Mirage has been a special place for celebrations, and we are so grateful to our guests and patrons that this tradition continues.

Looking forward to having you and your family back with us again before too long.

Warmest regards
Mark

We had a standard room that had recently been upgraded very stylishly. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Great shower and nice bathroom. Buffet breakfast was included in our room tariff and was excellent - many healthy choices. Food and drinks and mini bar prices were exorbitant and really not worth what you got. Was quite a walk to our room but was pleasant if you walked through the water features that dominate the grounds. Resort is a very 80's style and lacks personality in its style but is very open and well lit so this compensates for some of the blandness. Overall, a very nice resort close to the Mirage and Spit restaurants and shops with the beach out the front. Our accommodation was reasonable value but food & beverage prices way too expensive. We ate across the road. Few room niggles with disconnected TV and no mini-bar menu. Upgraded rooms are very nice and stylish. Certainly worth consideration.

There's a nice sense of arrival walking into the marbled foyer here. It's at first floor level and the vista of glistening blue resort pools below with the sea and sky beyond is fantastic. Coupled with the water features internally it feels like a luxury beach side resort.

The hotel has been given a makeover since we last stayed ten years ago and its all soothing up to the minute tones of coffee, beige, chocolate and grey. The full length quilted banquettes in the lifts are a nice touch and perfect for resting the legs when trekking to your room. The resort sprawls over several wings so get ready for a hike to your room and to your car in the basement.

We had a first floor room overlooking the lagoons. The bed was super comfy with nice linen and the bathroom had all the requisite toiletries you expect at a Sheraton. One small downside was an adjoining door and a family with young children next door. We were woken up and kept awake way too early for a weekend away.

We stopped in at the bar for a drink before going out to dinner at the Marina Mirage centre across the road. This space looks good with nice fixtures and fittings but in common with lots of hotel bars its kind of empty with no atmosphere. No cosy nooks as such for a couple to enjoy a drink and the furniture wasn't that comfortable either. Expect to pay around $19 for a cocktail and score some complimentary peanuts at the same time. Service was slow considering there was only one other group there.

We didn't have breakfast here choosing to eat out across the road. We understand the buffet breakfast is $40 each, which we consider expensive. You can enjoy a club sandwich for $28 and despite water being safe to drink here, 1.5L bottled water for $15.

Sunday checkout at noon yielded a large queue snaking across the foyer, something we haven't seen before anywhere else, but maybe we have been lucky. Granted weekends are busy but we expected more from a hotel of this calibre. Eventually a staff member worked his way down the line and collected room cards, advising that our credit card imprints would be used for any incidental charges.

Despite the little hiccups and some expensive elements we would stay here again as we love being able to walk straight out onto the beach and the room was great.

Dear Top Contributor

Thank you for coming back to Sheraton Mirage after an absence of ten years, and for the time you have taken to post this detailed review.

We are very pleased you liked the changes to our beautiful resort, but were sorry to hear you were disturbed by guests from the interconnecting room. Also for the delays experienced on checkout…I agree, not a positive way to end your stay. Our apologies for these aspects of your visit not being as you would have expected. If you could spare a moment to contact my office (please speak with my Assistant Sharon) we’ll update your profile with your feedback and experience on this occasion, which in turn will assist us in preparing for your next stay.

Looking forward to your return.

I used to stay here 10years ago, now they totally renovated and became new hotel. Location was a bit far from Suffers Paradise, it took about 10 mins by taxi. If you want to go out for night time, you have to take taxi. Hotel staff were very friendly and nice greetings from everywhere during stay. Breakfast was wonderful especially seafood. I want to go back again this hotel for next time.Drinking water was not set up in room and it was difficult to find convenience store to buy water nearby hotel.

Dear Senior Reviewer

It was a pleasure to have you back with us after an absence of a number of years. Thank you for returning, and for taking the time to share your experience via this TripAdvisor review.

Bottled water should have been available in your room, and I’m sorry this appears to have been missed during your visit. Additional supplies can be purchased at either of the convenience stores located at Marina Mirage across the skywalk from the resort.

We look forward to your next visit and thank you for your continuing support.

Warm regards

The disappointment of having a much anticipated event cancelled, because of weather, was soon turned around by the wonderful setting, facilities and staff of the Sheraton.
We decided to go ahead and stay for the Saturday night and could not have been more pleased that we did so.
The setting is magnificent and with the weather clearing we were able to explore the grounds and adjacent beach the following day.
Our room had been recently refurbished. It was spacious, luxurious, functional and immaculately clean.
Both the seafood and breakfast buffets were generous with best quality food and attentive staff. The cocktails after dinner, though probably not necessary, were inventive, delicious and served with cheer and skill.

Room Tip: Our second floor lagoon view room was perfect.

Hi Dennis

We’re so glad your very enjoyable stay (we really liked “A Weekend Treat” description) made up for the disappointment in missing out on your special event.

We are certainly blessed with a wonderfully designed resort in a most beautiful location, and it was great that the weather cleared and you were able to make the most of your time in exploring our local area…..and of course the fabulous beach!

Looking forward to your return….and many thanks for your review.
