2 nightstay, rooms clean and tidy.

Bathroom looking a little tired but still no dramas. Room clean and spacious with comfy bed and handily positioned tv.

Breakfast buffet was fantastic with quality food and in plentiful supply.

Pool bar is great although service a little slow.

Overall a great work getaway and venue.

I love the Sheraton Mirage - so much that I couldn't bear to leave and extended my stay!

What an amazing stay - again. We decided to celebrate christmas with our employees in style and chose a night at the Sheraton as a thank you for all their hard work this year. What a wonderful decision. From the moment we arrived we were treated in five-star style. We knew we wouldn't be able to check in at 11am, but the front desk staff were more than happy to take our bags and ensure they would be in our rooms upon our return later that afternoon.

We had booked five rooms and check-in for all five parties was smooth and easy. Our room was perfect - views of the pool and the beach in the distance, up on the third floor. The recent refurbishment is fantastic and has definately refreshed the place. The bed was to die for - soooo comfortable, especially when we fell into it after a very long day eating and drinking.

The weather was divine, so perfect for lazing by the pool the next day - after an amazing buffet breakfast. How do they make such perfectly fluffy yet creamy scrambled eggs? I couldn't bear to leave, so we decided to stay an extra night and again, it was no trouble for the hotel and they efficiently and happily shuffled rooms so that we could have the extra night.

All our party enjoyed their stay and raved about how much they enjoyed it!

Thank you so much Sheraton - I have decided I need to spend a few days here every six months - living in Brisbane makes this possible. So we will be back.

Room Tip: I prefer the top floor in this low-rise hotel - ask for a room with sea glimpses (we didn't pay for an ocean view room, but could see the ocean past the swimming pool from our garden room anyway). We had room 3005

Stayed in a queen room, had seperate spa as well. Very big rooms, comfy beds and standard room inclusions. Meals were reasonable, check in was a bit so so, but everyone has a bad day sometimes. Drinks expensive as expected. Got lost though the underground car park to the room as the lift was not very well posted. But we may be blind as bats :) Everything was a treat and we would def' stay again.

Dear TA Contributor

Thank you for choosing to stay with us here at Sheraton Mirage. The support of Gold Coast/Tweed local residents is appreciated, as is the time you have taken to share your resort experience via your TripAdvisor post. Apologies though for what sounds like an atypical check in experience, but unacceptable nonetheless. Our aim is to extend a warm, friendly and efficient check in to all our arriving guests, and we look forward to your return stay when this will be your experience.

Warmest wishes
Mark

Stayed for a three night long weekend in early November and really enjoyed the hotel. It was a nice place to relax, be lazy and enjoy the pool and beach. The public areas are really impressive, and the lagoons and gardens make all the difference. Once you've memorised where your room is, it's easy to get around.

Our ground floor lagoon room was a generous size and nicely decorated - with a small terrace and outdoor setting. The bathroom was large but with a very 1980s decor - perhaps a throwback to the Skase days! The wifi was fast. TV had been "played with" so it took a while to figure it out. Air con worked well - and having the large sliding doors meant lots of fresh air too. The bed was very comfortable.

The pool was great - it was never a problem getting a couple of loungers or towels. A main reason we chose to stay here was the direct beach access which was great - a partolled beach without having to cross the road. The staff were on the whole very friendly and hospitable - perhaps the buffet breakfast area being the exception - due to busy-ness rather than anything else.

A couple of marks off: check in was a shambles - no proper lines so it all felt chaotic. Our room wasn't ready - which was fine - but we were advised that it wouldn't be long and that we would get a phone call when it was ready. After an hour, no call so back into the lengthy line only to find our the room had been ready for about 45 mins. I was a bit annoyed at that. Thankfully check out was a breeze.

The range of eating options at the hotel aren't very diverse - so the food is a bit 'the same' and at the same price point. This might not suit larger groups. But the food was nice enough and room service and pool service was very efficient. The breakfast area can get very busy so it probably pays to go early or go late. The selection available was good. And order a latte etc - first one is free and drinkable. The range of eating options in the immediate vicinity aren't much cheaper (i know i know, it's Main Beach!) and it pays to book at most restaurants at Marina Mirage on weekend (we tried Vie restaurant over the road - food was great, service really inconsistent).

The hotel gave us what we wanted - four days of sunshine (mostly), away from the crowds, without having to venture too far away for anything, with a large pool and easy access to the beach. The mix of guests was just right and the surroundings were really relaxing. I would stay again and recommend it to friends.

Dear Contributor

Thank you for sharing your Sheraton Mirage experience in such detail. We appreciate your insights and feedback – all of which has been well taken – and are delighted that our resort ticked most of the boxes for your mini break to the Sunshine State.

Please accept our apologies though for what happened on check in. Not a good way to commence your stay, and we are very sorry for the delay and the lack of the promised follow up. Our Rooms Division Manager is sharing your feedback with his team so they will understand the impact this type of lapse has on a guest's arrival experience.

Looking forward to your return…and wishing you both all the best for 2013.

Warmly
Mark

I have stayed at this resort on many occasions, they have all relatively been great - ocean views, wonderful service and great pool. The rooms needed some updating so the renovations will be a great fresh look for the resort. On our last stay there were some rude families that did not seem to control their children within the foyers running around and knocking on doors and disturbing others and our peaceful stay! Besides this have had some very special times and will be back again. Prices are reasonable and a special shout out to great staff like a lady at reception named PK!
