Recently stayed with husband for a weekend break. Fantastic location direct access to a lifeguard patrolled beautiful beach! Across the road from great resturants and elite shops.
Pool area & outside area a little tired. Layout of resort very 'rabbit warren'. However rooms beautifully renovated! Comfortable bed large room, huge bath. Room service prompt tasty but very expensive. Overall will be back.

Stayed here for my 40th birthday with my partner and everything was great. Loved the pool and pool bar and ideal location so close to the beach. The rooms were great as well as the buffet breakfast. Large clean and airy rooms with everything that you need. Close to shops, activities etc but far away from busy Surfers Paradise.

After returning from a 7 week European Whirlwind holiday, which was fantastic, but just a little tiring...we needed a PAMPERING & RELAXING holiday!!! Where is that??? Here at the Sheraton Mirage, Gold Coast...OF COURSE!!! We LOVE to come here 2 - 3 times a year, just to RELAX and be PAMPERED; we feel like we get treated like ROYALITY...each & every time! Most of the staff are extremely obliging & do their utmost to make our stay here enjoyable and most memorable...THANK YOU! We are still enjoying our time here at the moment (while writing this review) and I just want to say THANK YOU to Meg (Chef) & Branka (Bianca), Grant & Steve in Terraces; Jack (Reception) & Richard (Porter)...who ALWAYS greet us with a SMILE & make our stay here even more enjoyable! Exceptional staff who need to be CONGRATULATED!!! Great service...always with a smile! Although, I believe to congratulate those who provide impeccable service, I do, however have a little feedback...hoping that these small incidents will be rectified. On our arrival (at 11.30pm & feeling extremely tired), a porter (whom I will not name) came outside (did not welcome us & then disappeared into the storage room...hmmm!) Never, ever, encountered this here at the Sheraton in the past. Then feeling hungry, (after not eating properly all day)...I attempted to order (twice) via in-room dining...no reply. Walked to reception from our room and spoke to Nicole (Reception), whom I must say...was very apologetic & did her utmost to rectify this, by ordering a salad for me. Thank you, Nicole! They say... things come in threes...well, when the caesar salad arrived..I was most disappointed, leaving 3/4 of it in the plate (the lettuce was not fresh, black edges & bruised... certainly not
5 star quality! I am SURE this was only a one-off experience, as during all the times we have stayed here at this beautiful hotel (many occasions in the last 7 years)..we have ALWAYS THOROUGHLY enjoyed our holidays & WE SHALL continue to come here in the future, as we ABSOLUTELY LOVE the Sheraton Mirage, staff, service & location! Cheers & great success in the future!!! <3 <3 <3

Room Tip: Lagoon & Oceanview rooms were great, although if you cannot walk far (ask for a room closer to r...

Dear Aurora

We are all overwhelmed with your wonderful post on your most recent stay here at our beautiful resort. Thank you for your lovely comments which have been shared with all those associates named so they will know first-hand of your appreciation for the personal way in which they look after you and your husband.

Not so positively, it was disappointing to read of your unacceptable arrival experience, and our Front Office Manager and Executive Chef are already following up with their teams to ensure these lapses in our usual high standards do not recur. Please accept our sincere apologies for your less than warm welcome on this occasion.

Looking forward to your next visit….and for the moment…. wishing you both a special Festive and Holiday Season, and a happy and healthy 2013.

Warm regards

What a spectacular resort. From the moment you walk in the expansive foyer and look out past the lagoon, pool and out to the ocean your stress levels plummet. Helpful, friendly staff, recently renovated rooms, birthday specials with discounted cocktails , plenty of lounge chairs by the pool, amazing breakfast all contribute to a really special getaway. The limo transfer arranged through the resort costs the same as a taxi and is luxurious. Great shopping and restaurants across the road and a great cycle / walkway on the beach side. The day spa special including seafood lunch was a real treat, lovely relaxation lounge and great therapists. The local southport surf club has great views and a nice range of nice food. The fishos tavern at sunset is a great spot. No need for a car . With cheap flights to gold coast this is a must do mini break! Thanks Sheraton for a much needed heavenly holiday!

Room Tip: I like the lagoon rooms and I did check out the others. Staff said they like the garden rooms. North...

We went for our wedding anniversary recently and checked in during the week day. The check in was pretty quick. They upgraded us to the spa room which was a nice touch.

The king bed consisted of 2 single beds, which was a bit suprising considering the 5 star rating. Spacious room nevertheless.

It was a bit windy but we made most of the pool time. The beach was walking distance, dipped our feet in the water and it was cold, so made our way back to the pool. Another nice touch was we received some chocolates and a written note by the general manager.

Our room cost us around $250 which was a splurge according to my standards. I would stay again but would have to keep an eye out for those breakfast packages. Great to see hotels giving the $15 food/beverage incentive to not change your linen.

Didn't eat at the restaurants but went across the road for some tucker.

Check in was 3pm and check out the next day was 12pm.

As soon as you walk into the lobby, you know you're on holidays. Across from the lobby are stunning ocean views, it's really quite beautiful. Staff were friendly, room was luxurious, we were quite happy with our choice to stay here. I absolutely loved the big bath tub in our room, it's so rare to find that in even the 5 star hotels... I think they could have made the restaurant prices a bit more in line with other 5 star hotels, we paid $39pp for the breakfast buffet, which was lovely and extensive, but so was the Hilton's buffet, which charged $35pp for slightly better quality stuff. Still, I'm a sucker for buffet breakfasts, and I did enjoy it, so I'd probably do it again (although Sheraton staff, if you read this, note that we'd be eating it daily during our stay if it was slightly more affordable!!!).
The pool was a decent size, loved the pool bar, although to be completely honest, I was fooled by the website description of "One acre of lagoons". There are indeed a lot of lagoons, but they're ankle deep and not for swimming in! In my mind, I was going to a crazy water paradise, where I could swim all over the place. Maybe I was just naive.
Across the road from the hotel is a shopping centre, although it's mainly luxury items like jewelry and brand name clothes. There was a decent selection of cafes though, we were happy with that. They have a Ribs and Rumps restaurant which gives you a nice escape from expensive Sheraton meals.

This is an amazing relic of the eighties, with its over-the top water features covering the entire hotel, original poolside-bar with underwater barstools! Its so kitch but wonderful! I love this stuff, too bad the make-over is boring in the corridors, but the rooms have been re-done very nicely. Have a look in the fire escape/stairwells for genuine 80's leftover, pink tiles and tubular steel...I think they need more baby blue and mint green.

The rooms are well arranged, they feature open-able windows, basically you can almost open one entire wall up, and switch off the air-con. I prefer the fresh air, especially in the perfect Gold-Coast climate! All the rooms probably have wonderful views of the palms trees and water features, if you get a room on the bottom floor it has doors which open out into your own little balcony right next to the water feature, which winds its way through the grounds.

If you need a hotel where you intend to spend a lot of time, this one is a great choice, the rooms and grounds are all very pleasing to look at, and the staff are very genuine. In the area it is the only hotel directly on the beach I think, so you can swim beach or pool very easily.

Public transport is great, the bus stop is just outside the hotel. There is the 715 direct bus into Southport for shopping or the 750 direct to Surfers Paradise. Plus an easy change to the 702(or700) to the gold coast airport. Give yourself plenty of time if you are relying on gold coast public transport though. Busses seem to come a few minutes early or about 10 minutes late. However they are quite frequent so it doesn't matter too much.

Rooms have complimentary usual teas and instant coffee but also REAL ground coffee and plunger provided! They have a "green" policy where you can decline housekeeping and get $15 credit in the hotel... great for those poolside sunset drinks!
Bathroom has complimentary shampoo, conditioner, soap, shower gel, mouthwash, showercap, cotton wool, ear buds, emery board. I forgot toothbrush and comb which guest services provided!

All over we enjoyed the luxury. and the included buffet breakfast was awesome!

Room Tip: A room close to the pool means a shorter trip to swim at pool or beach
