We had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon and thought this was the best meal I've had in a long time. My starter of quail breasts and confit legs on fried gnocchi was delicate and beautifully seasoned followed by a crunchy herb crusted veal on rosti and spinach finished with a creamy mushroom sauce that didn't swamp the meal, perfection. my husband was more than happy with his salt and pepper calamari to start followed by crispy Pork Belly on Apple an celeriac puree. Presentation was exceptional and the service was friendly and attentive.
I was a bit put off at first when I saw the singer but was proved wrong as the music was unobtrusive and really enjoyable. Our bill came to $130 which included 3 glasses of French champagne and 2 glasses of cab sav. Good value in my eyes for what we had. Definitely coming back.

Great service just not great food. The price range would be considered good until you eat there. I would rather pay more and have a nice meal..

We visited the Provincial Restaurant and Bar mid week as part of a wine dinner with the winemaker from Kangarilla Rd winery in McLaren Vale. There was nearly 60 folks in our group and there was quite a range of interesting Kangarilla wines to go with our fixed four courses. It was going to be quite a demanding logistics exercise for the Provincial staff and given the smallish size of the place when everyone turned up it was going to be a challenge. The place does have a lot of hard surfaces and there seemed to be a rather lot of transmitted noise, also from the road outside, which became a little unpleasant at times. Generally the service thru the evening was pretty good and everything seemed to run close to clockwork, and the staff were always pleasant and helpful. The four courses should have been easy, but while they came to the table hot, there was little pizzaz and flair. A selection of hors d'oeuvre was a nice enough starter, but the entree of 3 grilled tiger prawns on a creamy risotto was a little stodgy. The eye fillet steak on sweet potato bake with a touch of barely cooked broccolini was quite a challenge. The Gippsland steak was tasty enough but required a lot of jaw exercise to render it, while vegetables were undercooked and stringy. A small selection of the usual cheese culprits rounded out the meal. While the meal as a whole was quite passable, we were a little disappointed that the chef did not take the opportunity to innovate in a nice Sicilian or Provençal way, which seems to be the objective of the place. Of course the Kangarilla wines introduced by Kevin O'brien were a treat. We did not see the wineries famous top shelf Shiraz, but the new offerings of Vermentino and especially a new blend of 3 Italian games labeled as Terzetto were very interesting. We will certainly be following Kangarilla a little more, the Provincial on the otherhand was a little expensive for the fare.

We visited this restaurant in March with my partners parents. Very tasty Mediterranean inspired cuisine. I ordered the chilli prawns and scallops linguine, which was very nice. My partner had the fish which he also liked.

Service was OK, could be improved. Great location though on the corner of Tedder Avenue, nice atmosphere for an evening meal.

Overall a good restaurant, wouldn't hesitate to recommend!
